Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - USS Incheon
Timeline: 0800Hrs - June 2nd, 2393
Fleet Admiral Heather Duval smiled as she felt the rush of hot water wash over her while she took a shower, sex with her husband was always great first thing in the morning, the man pinned her and had his way with her often and it was something she enjoyed greatly. Duval sighed happily as she washed her body.
Meanwhile, nearby in the kitchen was her husband, making breakfast, the two would often simply remain in their quarters while Heather Duval did paperwork and Enrique Duval wrote his stories, it was a partnership that worked well and they had few issues and secrets between them as Enrique knew his wife would have been told specific things that she was to keep to herself as that was what her job demanded. He had accepted this long ago and so had their children who were all off, living their own lives, many of them with their own families and children to deal with.
Enrique flipped the pancakes in the pan and he caught them on the way back down, it was simply a matter of physics and he simply enjoyed cooking. He knew what life was like with the woman who was presently taking a shower as a smile graced his lips. He looked down at the pancakes as they cooked in the pan before he flipped them, upon seeing that they were finished cooking, he flipped the pan over and dropped the two pancakes onto a nearby plate. "There we go," he commented
Duval then turned everything off and began to clean up. While he was finishing off, the door opened and out walked his spouse, wearing her uniform. "Ahh, those smell great." Heather Duval commented with a wide smile on her lips.
"Help yourself, both are for you. I'm going to have a tuna and cheese sandwich from the replicator as I'm not feeling very hungry today." Enrique explained, a smile on his lips.
"You okay?" Heather inquired of her spouse who nodded. "Yeah, I'm just not hungry."
"Fair enough. I am going to enjoy these." Heather answered as she began to eat her food, she felt bad that her husband wasn't hungry and she wondered if she was missing something but then she dismissed the notion with a helpful shove, if her husband wanted to tell her that something was wrong, he would and nothing she said or did would persuade him otherwise.
Suddenly, both of their thoughts were interrupted and the silence was shattered by the ship's com system. "Attention all personnel, this is the Captain, we'll be arriving at Starbase Vanguard within the hour, shore leave will be granted but it'll only be a few days. Welcome to the Taurus Reach. Kerr out." as the com system went silent again.
"Lovely. We have an hour to pack." Duval said to his wife. She nodded. "You go find our new home and I'll go report in and take command of the fleet assets here, neither will take us long." Heather Duval answered.
"Sounds good to me," Duval answered with a smile. "Cleaning up has never been an issue," he added as the two of them tended to live out of a suitcase when they were traveling, so their packing was mostly done, it was just cleaning up after living in their accommodations but then word was that some Admirals lived like slobs and as far as Heather was concerned, she believed that many of her fellow Admirals were slobs because they could do whatever they wished and nobody could say or do anything about it. Woe to the person who ever did.
Heather and Enrique's packing would be to put away one item back into her bag and strip the bed and make sure the bathroom was clean, then they would turn over these quarters for the operations personnel to tear apart and clean up how they normally did but then that was for them to sort out and not for the Duvals. Heather was a very good housekeeper and this was something she believed very strongly. Enrique agreed with his spouse on matters of cleanliness.
Duval went over to the replicator and got himself a sandwich to eat, he came over and sat back down next to his wife as she was working on her second pancake, the two ate in silence as they both agreed that silence was best at the dinner table. Even when their entire family was together, the dinner table was silent as it was for eating and not for talking, that part would come later as it always did.
Heather missed her children and she didn't care who knew it as Enrique slowly smiled. Clearly, something had amused him.
"What?" was the first words that Heather had said in close to five minutes.
"I was just thinking that here we go again, off to put out someone else's brushfire. Didn't you join Starfleet to explore?"
"I forgot why I joined, to be honest," Heather commented in a light tone of voice. "Jeff joined the Marines because he wanted to fight and make others suffer for his pain. Me, I wanted to get away from the pain of my parent's death."
"I'm sorry," Enrique answered quietly.
"Don't be, it was a very long time ago, when I was about ten years younger then Arlene now." she was referring to her youngest who would be turning thirty-two in about a weeks time. "I was a different person then and so was Jeff."
Duval finished his sandwich while Heather spoke but he sat and listened in silence, even though the two had little time left to themselves.
