Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1300Hrs - September 12th, 2393
Teyla Duval was presently sitting in her quarters, at the small den work station as she was curious, the last remnants of her lunch were sitting off to one side, forgotten and abandoned as its uses had been fulfilled with her eating the food. The pregnant Halanan-human female tapped the display once. "Computer where might I find Lia Circe.?" she inquired. "In Starfleet records..." she added a moment later.
"Checking." came the usual response.
Duval settled in to wait when the computer provided a response. Duval's eyebrows both raised in astonishment. "She's here, on the Starbase as the head of their communications department." she read aloud. "Alright, its time to go and track her down... and then she will be mine." and with that, Duval rose to her feet and out the door, she went, while she wasn't the fittest or the most able-bodied person who was able to walk anywhere, she was presently occupied with being pregnant and she was close to eight months along.
Duval slowly blinked her eyes as she slowly smiled. She took a moment to adjust her uniform jacket and the maternity dress she was wearing before she tapped the turbolift call button, the doors opened and she entered the list. She smiled. "Com Center," she said in a flat, almost bored tone of voice.
The turbolift started off towards its destination as Duval settled in to wait in silence, she opted to clear her mind of distractions rather than get confused with what she wished from the conversation that was now not only unavoidable, it was also inevitable. Suddenly the door opened and in walked a slender female wearing Fleet Admirals pips, her shoulder-length silver hair was tied back in a simple but elegant ponytail. Duval could tell the older woman before her wore the uniform very well.
The Fleet Admiral turned to the heavily pregnant female next to her. "Hello Teyla, do you mind if I call you Teyla?" she inquired, her accent was rich and soft at the same time.
"Uhh... Of course ma'am." Duval paused, she was unsure of what to say.
"Relax Teyla, I thought it best tat the two of us met. I am Heather Duval... Logan's aunt." she smiled softly. "When Jeff found out about Logan, I had wanted to meet him and his family... I read all about you guys... Even the stuff that's classified, my my, so much blank ink." as she grinned at the other woman. "Knowing that you ended up with Logan reminds me that no matter what, sometimes some things do come to pass, in various realities..."
"Logan... as I'm stuck calling him and I ended up together a long time ago... Right after the war with the Dominion, he and I met, he was an orphan. He had no father, no mother... It was just him and me, we preferred it that way..." she paused. "Now we're here and there are more Duval's then I know what to do with. memorizing the family tree is proving to be a major headache..."
"Understandable... But you do not need to prove your worthiness to be a part of this family, not to me or anyone else... Jeff has a third son in the house, Logan who is another version of Anthony... The three of them get along and I heard Logan had an interesting time meeting T'Nae..." the older Duval explained with a soft smile.
"Yes. Logan had no idea of who she was and she thought he was Anthony. It was memorable... But I was able to stop the two from getting into an argument, and I'm honestly glad that Jeff... showed up when he did." she paused. "Mind if I share something with you?"
"What's that?" Duval paused, she noted something was off with the younger woman.
"Jeff scared the living crap out of me. Something in his eyes... He's a stone-cold killer... That one." the younger Duval paused. "Oh he covered it well enough, it's a nice guy but... I could see it in him, he's killed and he's enjoyed killing." she paused. "It was terrifying."
"That's understandable. Jeff is a marine." Heather paused as she gently took the younger woman's hands in her own. "Jeff will not do anything against you or yours. You are family to him and he looks after his kin."
"Logan told me as much... He connected with his dad right away which was....strange..." Teyla admitted. "I confess. I always thought it would be me and him... Logan I mean... Now there is Anthony and Marcus. There are T'Lee and T'Kela as well... and Suvek." she paused. "Heather... may I call you Heather.?"
The Fleet Admiral's eyes sparkled. "Sure." she almost purred at the younger woman.
"Heather... Do something about Suvek, once and for all... Otherwise, his issues with Dad will destroy him." the younger Duval explained, she had never gifted anyone with the appellation of dad before, as she considered that Jeffery was worth of the title, he had taken in Logan and her children into his house and his home, without question.
"I'll look into it." the elder Duval commented. "Were you heading somewhere?"
"Computer, resume my destination, Com Center." the younger Duval paused. "I felt it was time and me and Lia Circe met. I want to look her in the eye."
"Do be careful with her, she's a delicate soul." Heather Duval answered with a soft smile.
"I will try Heather... But I want to meet her, so I know what sort of a person she is..." Teyla answered with a gentle smile, as the turbolift doors opened and Duval smiled as she watched her great-niece step off of the lift. "It was good to have met you, Heather."
Heather Duval gently slipped her arms around the younger woman as she gave her a gentle hug. "And you too, Teyla."
Teyla gently hugged her back and with that, the encounter was over as the two parted ways, Heather going off to wherever she was heading and Teyla reached her destination a moment later.
