A Short Goodbye - Part Two

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 2200Hrs - September 27th, 2393

The two women approached the airlock to the USS Infinity, it was time to say their last goodbyes, the two women were more alike than either one of them cared to admit, they were sisters in more than one way. Both were wearing their various uniforms, Celeste was wearing the red collar with five pips and Enyo was wearing the black with three pips, except hers was the mirror universe style, with a lighter grey tone for the colors of the shoulders, a line of white for the separation between black and grey and a set of shoulder boards with her rank insignia on, three stripes in white. Celeste also wore the regular style of uniform with pants and shoes whereas Enyo, it was a skant uniform style with a skirt, knee-high boots and no sleeves for the uniform top, it highlighted her muscular arms, legs, and shoulders.

Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs walked beside her sibling as Victoria considered what she wanted to say to her twin. "I have no idea of how to process life in this reality." she suddenly admitted to Celeste, who simply nodded in response. "That's normal, really... that's not a major shock." as she smiled at Enyo. "You're fitting in, like everyone else."

"I was... honestly expecting something else..." Victoria answered quietly.

"I know." Yamaguchi-Hobbs considered with a nod of her head. "It was like that for me, after the incident and Jackson," she commented.

Enyo had never been raped, not like Celeste had but she had been abused so she knew what terror was, what fear was and what is the victim was like. "Your son is a blessing, the kits are too... They seem to accept me..." Enyo commented quietly. "No thanks to what I did to Marie." she sighed softly.

"That's because they too, know what being the victim is like," Yamaguchi-Hobbs answered quietly. "I don't think anyone in my family knows what it's like to not be the victim of something..." she said in a rather dry tone of voice as if she didn't like it. But them she did not need to like it and she didn't like it.

"What about Bree?" Enyo paused, she knew that Celeste's wife was a marine and she had a lithe frame with plenty of physical strength.

"Oh, yes. She was the victim of various people trying to screw with her and mentally fuck her." Yamaguchi-Hobbs. "One of them tried to rape her, he almost succeeded... She had to beat him within an inch of his life to get him to stop... Then there was her leaving home... which I shouldn't discuss..." she paused a moment to allow it to pass. "Then there was her becoming pregnant during that mass psionic event awhile back," Yamaguchi-Hobbs added, almost as an afterthought.

"Fair enough," Enyo answered in a light tone of voice. "Wait, she's pregnant?... I was sexually assaulted during that event after being zapped with an agonizer." she paused. "It was... not something I like to think about. Did something like that happen to her... I know Gail was generally ignored and slapped around..."

"A... What?" Yamaguchi-Hobbs commented quietly. "Whats an agonizer?." she asked a moment later. "I've never heard of that before," Celeste admitted in a light tone of voice.

"Its a device that is designed to cause pain," Enyo explained. "I jab you with it and it shocks you with electricity." There was something in Enyo's tone wich set Yamaguchi-Hobbs's hairs on the back of her neck standing on end, it made her uneasy. "That just sounds wrong," Yamaguchi-Hobbs answered with a frown. "Why does someone do something like that?"

"For the enjoyment of abusing someone else," Enyo explained. "I've had it used against me on more than one occasion, it's effective at breaking people's spirits and it's also good for those who get off on abusing others..." Enyo regarded her twin. "Now I going to hopefully do something about it..."

"I read your mission profile, even the stuff command didn't want me to." Yamaguchi-Hobbs slowly smiled as she pushed her misgivings aside. "I'm glad that you're the one who's going and I'm glad this mission has your skillset..." she paused a moment. "I wish I was going with you."

Enyo smiled. "No, you don't honey," she answered quietly. "You got enough troubles here... and this mission will test me in ways I can't even imagine... It's going to be exhilarating, educational and terrifying, all in one go," she explained as she gently took Yamaguchi-Hobb's hands in her own. "I was settling in, I was happy... for the first time... I had a ship of my own with a crew who wasn't out to screw me or toy with me." she looked her twin in the eye while she spoke. "You have no idea how blessed you people are on this side of the veil... I hope you never find out what sort of shit I had to tolerate, my Exec wanting to violate me, the kitchen staff trying to poison the crew and the security Chief who was a predator of his own crew, looking for the weak and vulnerable to exploit to further his own position." Enyo paused a moment for Celeste to process this. "I will try and rescue what crew members of the Shield of Vega that I can... I will also try and rescue my children... But I must prepare for the possibility that they are all dead..."

Yamaguchi-Hobbs paused, she had no idea of what she would do if she had lost the twins in this manner, or Jackson or the kits, but what she did know was that a parent avenging a child was capable of anything, especially when they were as well versed in the arts of war as Enyo was.

Yamaguchi-Hobbs gently drew her twin into her arms as she hugged her. "Than I will wish you luck." she paused. "Do you have it?"

"The kukri that you gave me?" Enyo asked. "I do... You have exquisite taste in weapons Cel. Be assured that I will take good care of it" Enyo drew strength from the support of her twin. "I'm glad you're in my life..."

"As am I Enyo," Yamaguchi-Hobbs answered before the two women separated and went their separate ways. Yamaguchi-Hobbs leaving for the Starbase and Enyo heading for the airlock. "Gentlemen. Permission to go aboard?" she inquired of the two men at the airlock.

"Let us check you over first, ma'am. Can't be too careful after all." the ensign answered with a nod.

"Of course," Enyo answered while the two men gave her the once over. Within moments they were finished. "Thank you, Commander, you can head aboard." the Ensign commented with a nod.

"Thanks, guys." and with that,m she proceeded to go aboard the USS Infinity, her mind already preparing details for the mission ahead.
