Mission:
Mission 103: The Rumblings of Discontent
Location: Various Locations - USS Solemn Penance
Timeline: 1030Hrs - August 22nd 2393
Lieutenant Martin Shkreli smiled as he mentally ticked off another member of the senior staff on his list. Now he needed to go and see the second person on his list who was overdue for a physical, and while he considered Gaggeva Stark a handsome woman, someone he'd be willing to bed over a biobed and fuck from behind, he preferred to ignore the fact that she was part, Orion, thanks to her father who must have foisted her off on her mother, he sighed as he pushed away the thoughts presently going through his mind as it would not help him or his goals. He didn't like the fact that she was part alien and this tainted her in his eyes but she was privy to knowledge that he would need and he was sure he could still at the very least deal with her as a possible threat to his plans.
Shkreli moved down the hallway with his medkit over one shoulder, he sighed softly as he considered briefly who else he could secure on the senior staff, he had the counselor, himself and the Chief of Science, none of them were serious command level officers and he knew that he'd never be able to recruit the Chief of the Boat or the Executive Officer, despite both of them being new to the assignments they were recently holding. So he had to play a waiting game with the people he had access to, this bothering him as he was already on the clock to start with.
He entered a turbolift. "Main Engineering," he said evenly to the turbolift computer, the lift started moving as it sped along towards its destination. He was at present the only occupant of the lift and thus, there were no issues or distractions to occupy his mind with.
The doors opened and he stepped out, he smiled before moving into Engineering. "Hey, I'm looking for the Chief?"
"Commander Stark is... I think she's in her office." replied the older man who looked down at Shkreli.
Shkreli nodded. "Thanks." before he turned and went into Main Engineering proper. The place was huge, there was a long main walkway which was two levels in height, also it was open on either side, with a dozen consoles on each wall, they were separated with two large lifts, one of those was on either wall. Shkreli moved past all of those and into the main area proper, with the large engine plant where the ships warp core would have been, except this was something truly impressive, however, Skherli didn't understand the mechanics involved or the physics involved with the running of the device.
"Can I help you Doctor?" someone asked, Skherli turned to find himself face to face with another one of the Engineers who was wearing orange. "I'm looking for Commander Stark."
"Ahh. Yes, she's ion her office." the young man indicated a closed-door nearby. "I think she's working on paperwork, the true bane of our existence, right?" The Ensign tried to make a joke. Shkreli smiled as he nodded. "Yeah, tell me about it." however he didn't care about the paperwork whatsoever.
"Thank you, Ensign," Skherli added a moment later, the two parted company as Shkreli tapped the door buzzer.
Commander Stark had just taken a moment to zone out from the demands of her paperwork, taking a momentary mental break as she sometimes did, she detested paperwork but she did it because she had to do it, this, however, did not mean that she liked it. The beeping of the doorbell indicated that she had a visitor, she looked up as she smiled. "It's Open!" the tall woman called, thinking that it was one of her own people who wanted her. The door parted and revealed the Chief Medical Officer who stepped into her office. "Commander. I hate to bother you but my paperwork says you are overdue for a physical." he quickly explained himself and why he was presently bothering her right at this moment in time.
The tall woman was somewhat grateful for the interruption. "No its no bother but I didn't think I was due for another month.." she paused. "Did I lose that much time?" she asked herself before she returned her attention to him. "Do I need to do this now?"
"Well, honestly, it should have been addressed two weeks ago, by the previous Chief Medical Officer. Why it was not addressed before now honestly, is an oversight that should not have been permitted to linger... So rather than fight with you on the subject. I decided to come and see you." he commented. "I am prepared to do it here now," he added with a nod.
"Oh alright," Stark answered, seeing as she couldn't exactly refuse him. "How long will this take?" she inquired.
"About five minutes, then I'll be gone and you can get back to what it was you were doing," Skherli answered her, with a smile on his lips.
"Okay," Stark answered with a smile on her lips.
Shkreli drew his medkit, he then plucked the tricorder out of the pouch on the side of the kit, he then opened it and started. "Let's see..." he commented lightly as he scanned the massive woman before him. "Mmm... Have you had any issues in life recently?"
Stark blinked as she looked at him, she had not been expecting the question and the look on her face said as much. "I'm presently separated from my husband and children due to assignments," she explained.
"That explains that then. says that you have a fair amount of muscle strain and the like, I'm guessing its due to heavy moving and heavy lifting?" he inquired of her.
Stark nodded. "Yeah, I've been working a lot of hours recently." the tall Orion female paused as she let out a sigh. "Are you sidelining me?"
"No. But I'd like it if you could cut the workload down." Shkreli answered her with a nod.
The tall Orion nodded her head, she knew he was asking her very nicely, with coming down here and keeping this one unofficial, as he could make this official and shove it down her throat had he felt the urge and the inclination, a few words to the Exec or the skipper and it would be done. They would then make it official and she would have no choice but to comply. "Alright. I'll... I'll tone it down." she responded, capitulating to the inevitable.
"Thank you, Commander. Other then that, you are in great shape..." Shkreli smiled. "I'll leave you to it." and with that, he slipped his tricorder away and he departed a moment later.
