Mission:
Mission 121: The Mobius Loop
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Six-Eighteen
Timeline: 1010Hrs - February 4th, 2394
Torilla regarded the two across from her. "So, we come to it at last, the end of our fellowship." She smiled at the two people across from her. "My tale is already told, as it's become part of you. But yours is still to be written, so make it a good one. Go write your own legends."
John felt conflicted. He had relished meeting the woman who was his greatest inspiration. Torilla Yamaguchi's tale had been what had inspired John to join Starfleet in the first place. He had been waiting for this meeting all of his life and now it was about to end. He had so many questions and so much he wanted to say to her. But now he was out of time.
It was time for their meeting to end as he knew it would but he just wanted a little more time. John turned to Torilla as she was busy rising to her feet. Erica and John were busy doing likewise. "You know I don't know what to say..."
"Then let me say it instead my great grandson." Torilla smiled warmly at him. "I am so happy that Gabe got to figure it out. I'm happy that Gideon got a chance to succeed, and I'm happy to know that you exist. Because you mean something. You both matter... You matter to me." she paused. "So go have a good life John, Erica. Remember me well..."
John and Erica shared a look. "We will."
Torilla nodded. "I hope I measured up to your father's and grandfather's tales of me."
John nodded. "You did. Even with all the struggles and trials you and your kin are yet to face." he paused. "Never forget that you must shine. You will light the way for the lost and oppressed."
Erica turned to her husband. "John, we should be going," she said softly. "May the light be with you, Torilla Yamaguchi." she paused. "Also. Before I forget to mention it. Would you mind telling Kalliope Walking Bear that her great-granddaughter says hello." she grinned at Torilla. "If she doubts it, then tell her that the next time Jason Solusar comes to Starbase Vanguard. If she wants to claim him, then she needs to get off her ass and make it happen, otherwise, Galiaan Fordring will be asked instead. It would mean so much to me if you could put my unruly great-grandmother on notice." she commented with a rather unsettling grin. "If you need to be creative in your means. Please feel free. As that tale was passed down the family to me."
"I will pass your message along to her, myself. I'll skip Elizabeth and go seek Ms. Walking Bear myself." Torilla answered. "Safe travels, you two."
"Likewise." John Yamaguchi answered. He gently touched Torilla's mind with his own, she smiled as she responded. He shared with her, the essence of who he was, as she did likewise.
John smiled. It had lasted only a moment. But a moment could be a universe all in itself, it was also enough for him. He then called for a beam out. John smiled as he and Erica were brought home by the ship that they called home. Torilla turned and walked back towards the airlock where she knew her own ship awaited her mistress.
Fifteen minutes later, the turbolift doors opened and Torilla Yamaguchi stepped out onto the bridge of her ship. She had not changed clothing as she was still in uniform. "Report?" she asked aloud as she slowly ambled over to where her Executive officer was now standing. Since she had stood up when Torilla had walked onto her bridge.
Tienn Kerris nodded. "Captain. The delivery is complete and we will soon be ready to get underway. The reason you were called back is that the anomaly is starting to undergo something of a transition to a different phase."
"A phase change?" Torilla paused. "What does that mean, number one?"
"It means that the ships that came through are starting to depart through the anomaly. We've been monitoring four departures."
It was at that moment, that Egon Schuller turned his head. "USS Nog has just departed sir. She's from Thirty-One Ninty," he reported. "USS Courageous is also departing, she's from twenty-three seventy-two," he added.
"Very well," Torilla answered. "Sounds like this issue is about to be resolved," she added. "Number one. I'm going to take some time to go back to my quarters, change and take a shower," she commented. "I'm going to leave the rest of this event, in your capable hands."
Tienn nodded, a gentle smile on her lips. "Sounds good Captain," she commented. "If anything comes up. I'll take care of it," she added. Indicating she would not be bothering Torilla for anything less than then end ending of reality or the ship coming under attack.
