Rachael reached her mother. "Mom. Who was this man.?" she asked softly.

Torilla shifted her attention slowly as she looked over at her daughter. "He was... Unkind." she then sighed. "He desired me as an object. I was nothing to him but an object of his lust. His desires and wants. I was a prize and when I refused him. He chased me. I refused him so his desire only grew." she regarded Rachael. "He was base, cross with his words and harsh with his actions."

Rachael paused as this was something totally new to her. She had known nothing of her mother's time on her homeworld when she was Saki's age and younger. "Go on..." she inquired as she encouraged her mother to speak of it, all the while she recalled that her mother had refused to discuss these events.

The matters of Torilla's childhood were not known to anyone in the family. Torilla sighed as even Jake had tried to discuss it with her. But they had always discussed his childhood instead. His was far better than hers could ever claim to be. He had both parents, and when Jake and Torilla had begun dating. It had been Rachael Yamaguchi who had accepted this stranger into her house and heart without hesitation, question or reservation. Despite the fact that Torilla needed to be educated that her species wasn't better than anyone else.

Torilla paused, she recalled the times when she and Silas Montrose had fought. He out-massed her. However, she was a better-skilled combatant. But this did not always mean that she had won in the end. "Things started as roughhousing but it slowly escalated over time. Mom and Dad liked to live out in the country. I grew up among wide open spaces. Many were the nights when it was just Mom, Dad, and I camping out in the field behind our home, looking up at the stars."

"It sounds peaceful, Mom," Rachael admitted, a gentle smile on her face. "But who was this man... Montrose. I mean.?" she inquired. "Mom. It's time you told someone what he did to you."

Torilla nodded her head, as she knew in her heart of hearts that her daughter was right. She did need to talk about this. "Silas and I knew each other as children. We met in the local creche before going to the local school." she smiled. "At first, we were just friends. But as time passed, he began to see me as something more." she paused. "It was about the time I was Saki's age then I got my test results back." she paused. "As our species was facing its own destruction. So they subjected every single child to a dozen or so tests to see how fertile you were. They made a whole new ritual for it." she paused. "It was known as the time of knowing. But I was found to be extreamly fertile. Able to birth many children." Torilla suddenly grinned. "All of that was if I found the right mate. So I went from being a farmgirl nobody to the hottest commodity in the area." Torilla sat back in her chair as she huffed a sigh at her daughter. "Suddenly all of the boys wanted to know me." she then sighed. "It's the direct reason why I have the liberal attitude on sex that I do," Torilla explained. "I recall my first sexual experience. It was painful and rushed. It was a truly pathetic affair as he had no idea what he was doing and I was truly no better." she then shrugged. "When all was finished. I decided not to bother trying again. I also never saw that boy again either." Torilla explained with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Wait." Rachael regarded her mother, as she had pictured the scene and it was in deep contrast to when Rachael herself had been that age. She was being wined and dined by Paul Harrison before the two had sex with each other. "You went from being ignored by everyone to suddenly everyone wanting to know you. All in one go." she paused. "Yet, when I was that age. You trusted Paul Harrison with me."

"Yes," Torilla answered. "But not for the reasons you'd think, honey... It wasn't him that I trusted. It was you." she commented. "But I wanted a moment alone with him when we had that dinner party for Savannah giving birth to Gideon before I would even consider letting him have five minutes alone with you."

Rachael grinned at her mother. "Oh, I remember that day quite well. You were wearing a simple cocktail dress." she paused. "I always wondered why you would wear such a risque outfit to that event."

"I wanted to feel and hear Paul Harrison's thought processes when he saw me in it." Torilla then grinned at her daughter. "He did not disappoint me in the slightest. I know I fried his brain as I heard every thought that went through his head. Then he pictured you in that dress." Torilla's grin only widened further. "Well, let's just say he had to get the rage out of his system."
