Location: Various Locations - USS Vanguard
Timeline: 1620Hrs - February 1st, 2394

Di'Tomasso regarded him in silence for a moment. "We had socialization concerns. It kinda happens when two of your siblings were abused. Esther and I were a little too young for that sort of nonsense." she sighed. "It's haunted me the hardest. I still have issues forming relationships, even after all this time. None of my siblings have children. Except for Mikaela, but she's a special case." Di'Tomasso smiled. "I know Natalie is dating someone... As is Braelynn, which... Considering what they went through. I'm still suprised that either of them can even consider it."

"Yet the fact that they can consider it despite what's happened to them shows remarkable strength of spirit," Drevas responded. "Healing takes time. Months, years, sometimes even decades. To me, that they have progressed from being abused and having difficulties socializing to seeing a significant other is magnificent growth and development." He paused to breathe there and take a sip of water. "I do not know you well, or your own unique situation - but you too have come far from then to where you are now and you ought to be proud of it. As I am sure you are, and I certainly am." Sure, it was cheesy advice and compliments and he knew it - they both knew it - but he felt that it needed to be said.

Di'Tomasso smiled. "Thank you," she answered in a quiet tone of voice. "It took both ladies a lot of time to even consider it. Natalie only met someone within the last few months. Braelynn, it was within the last year." she paused. "As for me, I don't think I've met the right person yet." she then shrugged her shoulders. "Are you doing another set?"

"The right one comes when life decides to bring them to you," Drevas responded with a chuckle. "Neither have I. As for another set? Yes." The Kelpien smiled and lay back down, taking hold of the barbell once more. "Have you other plans for the night?"

"Other than working out and getting the rage out of my system. No." Di'Tomasso moved off the bench, she then got into position so she could provide him with a spot. His first line was corny but he wasn't wrong. Maybe she did need to get out more, go meet new people and see what happened.

"Getting the rage out of your system? What have you felt frustrated about of late?" He chuckled and resumed his reps, this time seeming a bit more tired than before. "Would you join me for a drink in the bar down the hallway? Perhaps there we might discuss some much more light-hearted topics."

Di'Tomasso regarded him. "Mostly work. I tend to sit around all day, filing reports and pushing paperwork," she explained. "It's tedious and dull."

"I know exactly how you feel," Drevas responded mid-rep. "It isn't very fun, being a head of the department and let alone first officer? I was a chief tactical officer myself once - I know exactly how painful and tedious the paperwork a head of the department can be. Perhaps we could both afford to properly unwind once we're both finished here."

"Sure. a drink sounds good," Di'Tomasso answered. "Being in demand doesn't help... I've been offered two postings as Executive officer on a ship of the line. I plan to refuse both." she added "I think I'll skip my workout." the Orion added.

"If you'll give me a few minutes to finish mine. You're welcome to sit and talk if you'd like." Drevas responded. "Two postings as the first officer? And you'd like to turn both down? Goodness, gracious. Do you feel that that life is not for you?"

"I want to remain on Starbase 47. I only just got there less than four months ago. I want to establish myself here first." the Orion explained. "I came aboard as the New assistant Chief Medical Officer... on a Seventy Four type Starbase, Thats still quite the feather in my cap... Being Exec of a ship of the line might be a downgrade for me," she added.

"Ah. I see. To each their own." Drevas responded, setting the barbell down and returning the weights he'd put on back on their storage rack. "Ready to go?"

Di'Tomasso nodded. "I need to shower and change," she commented. "Seeya out front?"

"Half an hour?" He suggested, already beginning to walk to the entrance of the gymnasium. "I too should shower and change..."

"I won't need that long," Di'Tomasso answered. "I'm not sweaty or sore. This won't take me long..." she added

"Fifteen." Drevas amended. "Is that enough?"

"Yeah," DiTomasso answered. "I'll seeya out front." She turned and departed, making her way into the lady's locker room. What she found was not what she had gotten but that was okay. She had not expected to strike lucky on this outing.
