Going on Vacation - Part One

Mission:
Mission 120: All Along the Watchtowers - Part Two
Location: Various Locations - USS Vanguard
Timeline: 1600Hrs - February 1st, 2394
With the rigours of his duties as the first officer behind him for the day (or so he hoped, at least), Drevas had decided to make his way into the ship's gymnasium. It wasn't often that he visited now that his duties kept him on the bridge most of the day, but he treasured the opportunities to do so as and when they arose.
Tonight was one such night. The room was empty of people save himself, and as such he'd opted to do bench presses. He'd managed to get forty kilograms on each side so far, but he was keen to push himself tonight. He removed the safety clip from the barbell and proceeded to add another five-kilogram weight on each side.
Just then the door opened and in came Xaelah Di'Tomasso. She was wearing a tank top and a pair of shorts. A pair of sneakers completed her look. She wanted to work out in the gym, and she also wanted to enjoy some exercise endorphins. She noticed the Kelpian officer who was getting ready to crank some iron. Fortunately, she was being almost totally ignored, which she felt was a good thing. Considering she had to take medication to suppress her pheromones, it was so other people could focus on their work and lives without her turning the men into drooling sex-starved fanatics, eager to mate with her and everyone else. Di'Tomasso sighed softly.
She regarded him, a gentle smile on her lips as she leaned against the wall, arms crossed under her breasts.
"Miss Xaelah." Drevas recognized her, albeit from having only seen a picture of her attached to her personnel file. He hadn't actually seen her around sickbay as of yet - no time like now to meet people, he supposed. It wasn't like she was going to leave the Vanguard anytime soon, and he'd likely meet her at some point anyhow.
"I don't think we've met as of yet. I'm commander Drevas, the Vanguard's new First Officer. What brings you here?" All this was said as he put the loaded barbell back on its stands, of course. He didn't want to drop it while talking to her - and then that inevitable meeting in sickbay would come much earlier than previously thought.
Why was she simply leaning against the wall and watching him, he wondered. Maybe she wanted to see what he was made of as a person - or equally possible was that she simply wanted to check up on him as a doctor.
Or... well, there was one other thing. He declined to entertain that thought for the moment. (edited)
Di'Tomasso regarded the Kelpian with an arched eyebrow. "Commander. I was just getting in some weight training and I didn't figure anyone else would be here at this point in time," she explained why she was standing before him at this point in time. "Don't worry. I'm not spying on you for this ship's medical staff. They have enough to handle without me adding to the mix." The Orion woman smiled at him.
"There's an available bench next to mine if you'd like to use it. I don't mind your company." He offered. Drevas was by no means outwardly buff or muscular, like most of his people, but lean and slender muscle on his tall, lanky frame. Deceptively strong, considering he'd just lifted a weight of forty-five kilograms on either side with seemingly no effort.
"The medical staff have enough to handle without you adding on, you say? Why do you say that?" He resumed his reps, moving on to the other half of his first set.
"Thats because I'm a passenger on the Vanguard." the Orion explained. "I'm heading on vacation. I'll be gone in a couple of days after you guys drop me off at Meezan Two." Di'Tomasso pushed away from the wall. She moved over towards him. "Do you require a spot?" she inquired of him. "Thats a lot of weight to be pushing around."
"A spot would be much appreciated." He admitted. Wouldn't want to actually drop the barbell and crush his ribs of course. "Meezan Two? Have you an assignment there, or will another vessel be there to pick you up?"
"No. Just going on vacation for two weeks." Di'Tomasso answered. "Two weeks as Earth reckon the passage of time," she added. "I'm going to see about acquiring my own personal ship. So I won't need to get a ride from people going my way." she paused a moment as she moved into position. "How much weight are you adding?"
"Five kilograms. That brings it up to... forty-five now." He replied mid-rep. "Your own personal ship, with her own crew and so on? How do you reckon to accomplish that, if I might ask?" A doctor with her own personal ship? He'd never heard of it - even more so considering she wasn't yet a captain in rank. Perhaps them she might get her own command... and perhaps that was what she'd been talking about all along.
