Old Friends, Old Loves - Part Two

Posted on Wed Nov 30th, 2022 @ 6:13am by Fleet Captain Heather Walking Bear & Commander Jennifer Pravdin

Mission: Mission 118: The Christmas from Hell
Location: Various Locations - Utgarde IV
Timeline: 1510Hrs - December 18th, 2393

Commander Jennifer Pravdin was wishing she had a vanilla milkshake while she sat in silence. Her sibling was a piot and had come up the ranks as such. Now she was stuck in an administration posting and by all accounts. Heather hated it. To her, she was born to fly and that's all she wanted to do. From her perspective, Starships were meant to fly and she wanted to reach up and touch the skies.

Pravdin regarded her sibling. "I know you wanna do it," she commented.

"You won't mind?" Walking Bear commented in a soft tone of voice. The request had taken her by surprise, the look in her eye said as much.

"Nope. Go for it. Impress me." Pravdin responded with a nod of her head.

Walking Bear knew what her sister wanted, but she couldn't provide it for her. "Alright. Going up!". and with that, the ground disappeared as the shuttle pointed its bow straight for the skies above as Walking Bear turned off the anti-grav's and pushed her thrusters forward. Pravdin suddenly found herself being pressed back into her seat as the velocity worked against her. "Oooh. That feels... uhh.." she groaned softly.

"Aww come on Jen. This is the next best thing to sex." Walking Bear commented with a grin on her lips. "I've missed this... and well James holding me down while he has his way with me." Walking Bear commented before she could stop herself.

"I forgot, you like being dominated while you're bedding your husband," Pravdin commented with a smile. "James must get off on it," she added.

"Well. He likes rough sex and so do I." Walking Bear commented before she sighed. She reached the end of the climb as she turned the shuttle back towards the ground. The black of space and the stars present slowly gave way to an impressive visual of the low orbital space of Utgarde IV. For Pravdin, it took away none of the wonders as she breathed out. She smiled despite the black mood that clung to her like a cloak.

"I'm sorry, Jen." Walking Bear commented softly. She glanced over at her younger sibling as she did so.

"No. I can talk about him without falling apart..." Pravdin commented. "It's why I kept his last name instead of switching back to my maiden name," she commented. "Besides, my two boys are all I have left of him."

"I know, honey." Walking Bear commented as she tapped the display before her. Time to destination, one minute or so." she commented. "I know my guys will be happy to see their aunt Jennifer again."

"I won't be dropping in for long but I do have another issue I'd like to ask you," Pravdin commented as she watched the land pass by as the shuttle flew on, now in steady flight. She wasn't the hot dog pilot that her sibling was, she was more of a security and police officer. She rose through the ranks in Starfleet Security. It was something that she was proud of but it was also something she considered responsible for the demise of her husband. She failed to protect him.

"You want me to take in your two sons." Walking Bear commented regarded her much smaller sibling. "I know what you wanted to ask me. Walking Bear answered as she glanced at her younger sibling. "I am aware of the fleetwide order that went out two days ago," she explained. "You're not heading for a Starbase assignment. Patricia is in the same boat as you. For the same reasons as you." she then slowly grinned. "If you stick around a little while. You'll run into Patricia as she's dropping by for the same reason you are." Walking Bear suddenly grinned at her younger sibling. "It'll be good to have a family get-together, even if it's because of the Tholians."

Pravdin smiled, in response. "Tell me about it," she commented. "Will she have her wife with her?" she inquired.

"I'd assume so." Walking Bear commented. "I'm not sure where Odessa or Kallipoe is presently located. Sam is off with the Fearless and Julia... I'm suprised if she's doing anything other than talking to her patients." Walking Bear then grinned. "Maybe she's getting nailed by her husband. She gets laid more in one day than I do in a week." as she tapped the displays several times before her. "I go collect the kids from school in a couple of hours. But they know that there will be six more people in the house tonight."

Pravdin sighed softly. "It was either I impose on you or I lose my command." she didn't want to give up her command. Nor did she wish to give up her children. However, Pravdin's sons knew this was coming as they had seen the order before their mother had.

"I know, honey. It's not fair." Walking Bear answered. "I know everyone will be happy to see you again," she commented as they approached their final destination. "We're here." Walking Bear commented.
