Infinity's End - Part Twelve

Mission: Mission 108: Grains of Sand
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard / USS Infinity
Timeline: 1500Hrs - October 28th, 2393

Captain Travis Yeager smiled as he enjoyed the rush of hot water down his body while he finished relieving his various issues. He smiled as finished washing off the soap subs.

Yeager smiled as he then stepped out, turning off the water as he did so. He wrapped a towel around his shoulders, not caring if he was dripping wet with nothing to cover his skin before he moved into the bedroom, he dried himself off before he began to don a new dress uniform.

Seemingly moments later, Yeager replicated himself a glass of milk and a doughnut which he devoured quickly than he departed, boots and jacket in hand.

Yeager reached a turbolift nearby, he tapped the call button before pulling on one boot then he slipped on his dress uniform jacket. The doors opened before he could pull on his other boot so he simply hopped in. "Admiral Shepard's office," Yeager said to the lift computer.

The turbolift hurtled to its destination in silence, something Yeager was grateful for as he quickly pulled on his other boot and then he zipped up his jacket before taking a moment to gave himself the once over. The doors opened a moment later as Yeager exited the lift, he made his way to his destination in silence.

"Afternoon Chief." Yeager addressed Shepard's yeoman with a nod of his head.

"Good afternoon Captain. The Admiral is expecting you." the man answered, a cheery smile on his face.

"Thanks," Yeager answered before entering Shepard's domain. "Good afternoon Admiral." he addressed the older woman before him.

"Hello, Travis. You about ready?" Shepard inquired with a smile.

"Yessir. I'm good to go." Yeager answered with a smile.

"Let's go take care of matters then." Shepard then went over to the door. Yeager fell into step next to her.

The two made their way to a turbolift and the only words that were said were "Hanger Eleven." the doors closed and the lift started moving as the two stood in silence. A moment later the doors opened and the two officers strolled into the hanger where several shuttles were waiting and several more were being worked on. "Chief?" Shepard called.

A harried-looking engineer came over. "Yes Admiral?" he inquired.

"Which one of these shuttles is mine?" Shepard inquired.

The engineer pointed to one of the shuttles. "That one sir, she's good to go and ready for you."

"Thanks, Chief," Shepard answered before the two officers boarded the shuttle, Yeager closed the aft hatch as Shepard got their clearance to depart the starbase.

The shuttle departed the hanger as Shepard smiled. "Now you'll be able to actually go and do good deeds rather than follow others," she commented as she guided the shuttle across the spacedocks.

Yeager took in the sights of a Guardian-class Starship undergoing a minor refit as the shuttle passed over her. Moments later a Renown-class starship that looked more or less brand new came into view. Yeager read the name. "BCH-002 - USS Infinity." she sighed softly. "Hello, beautiful," she added quietly.

"Yes... and she's your Captain.," Shepard commented, a smile on her face.

Yeager smiled. "Thank you." as he went about getting clearance for the shuttle to land in the main hanger. Waiting for them was Commander Morae Stormstout. She held a PADD which was of average size but it looked small in her massive hands.

She watched the shuttle land in silence, she waited for the hatch to open and out came a large framed human male, he wore his dress uniform and he smiled. He looked around before he spotted Stormstout. Admiral Shepard followed a moment later as Yeager approached. "Permission to come aboard sir?" Yeager asked formally.

"Permission granted Captain. Welcome aboard. We have things set up for you if you wish to handle matters right now?. Or I can see to your new quarter's assignment first if you want ten minutes to freshen up before taking command.?"

Yeager handed her his PADD containing his orders, Stormstout accepted it in silence. "If its all the same. I'd like to drop off my gear first and then drop by sickbay. Make sure all my paperwork is in order. I do not wish to burden Commodore Antilles any more than I already am."

"Very well... Sickbay it is then." as she handed him back his PADD. The two departed the hanger a moment later and a few minutes after that, they were in sickbay.

Lt Commander Theris Dvald-Veldama smiled as she looked up at the human male who was twice her size. "Captain Yeager." she purred softly at him. "I had heard you were coming." as she cracked open her tricorder and went to work.

"I hope I measure up Doctor," Yeager commented.

"I hope so too. I did get all of your paperwork from your last posting and it'll be in the system by the time you take over command." the Bolian female explained with a gentle smile.

"That sounds good to me," Yeager answered. "So... Will I live?" as he gave the smaller Bolian female before him a rather impish grin.

"For now," Dvald-Veldama answered with a gentle smile. "Thank you, Captain, you are in the peak of health for a human of your years.... We should all be so lucky," she commented. "I will update your records..."
she added.

Yeager hopped off of the bed. Before he turned to Stormstout who had not gone anywhere. "I'd like to get my quarter's assignment please Commander, then we can make the changeover."

"Of course Captain, right this way." and with that, she turned and walked out of sickbay. Yeager right behind her.
