Posted on Thu Mar 12th, 2020 @ 2:51am by Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson

Mission: Mission 85: My Soul's in Arms, and Eager for the Fray
Location: USS Yankee Clipper - Near the Gnosh'thar system
Timeline: 1600Hrs - May 16th, 2392

Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson was seated in her chair on the command bridge of the USS Yankee Clipper, she held a large thermos of coffee in her left hand and a PADD in her right hand, she was busy reading a letter from her eldest child which was a few days old now, she missed her children and she wanted them with her, all eight of them were several handfuls, especially when they were together but they were her children, even the ones she had taken in when her sister had been slain at the hands of a pirate band that had been all but exterminated in the same battle. Coral's husband had been killed at the same time in the same firefight as their ship, the USS Pegasus had been badly damaged, so badly in fact, that the ship was not worth repairing and thus, a new ship was commissioned with the same name.

Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed softly to herself as she finished reading the chatty letter from Miranda that more or less said that she was doing okay, that her siblings were likewise and were having a lot of fun being planetside with a small army of children who all had one thing in common, their parents were off at war. Miranda also mentioned that she missed mom and dad several times and wished the fighting would end so she could come home.

Yamaguchi-Johnson sighed softly. "Soon, baby. soon," she responded in a quiet tone as the Admiral within Yamaguchi-Johnson displaced the mother within as the brunette regarded the Gnosh'thar system on the display before her. "What do we know of this place?" Yamaguchi-Johnson inquired of her staff.

"It's uninhabited. There was nothing suitable for the Gorn in the system. There are several dozen mining stations and a major fleet base but that's about all."

"Lovely," Yamaguchi-Johnson answered softly. "So.. Where is the opposition and where are these guys located?" she inquired

"The opposition is the Klingon Second Fleet and their commander is General Chap'ogh of House Charin." came the response.

"Chap'ogh" Yamaguchi-Johnson brushed her hair back out of her eyes, her hair was not behaving itself today as she proceeded to reach up and over her head with both hands as she began quickly tying her hair back into a simple ponytail, she sighed softly as she quickly and effectively rounded up every single strand of hair on her head before she quickly tied off the large ponytail, then she smiled as she quickly began platting two sets of hair from either side of her head, thus creating a derivate of a French plait. Within minutes she was finished with her new look. "How do I look?"

"Better than you did a few minutes earlier. This new look seems to agree with you." Yamaguchi-Johnson's chief of staff commented with a smile.

"Thanks," Yamaguchi-Johnson responded. "Anyway. What do we know of Chap'ogh and the Second Fleet.?" she smiled as she regarded the display as information about her opponent for the battle to come was displayed before her. "I don't know this guy but he's no fan of Martok. That much is evident."

"Yes. But making things worse is that he apparently is an admirer of yours Admiral." came the half expected response.

"Aww, I have an admirer. My husband will be so amused." Yamaguchi-Johnson responded in a dry tone of voice. "How long until we reach the system?"

"Ten minutes." came the response as Yamaguchi-Johnson tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi-Johnson to the bridge. Captain is my flagship ready?" Heather smiled as she regarded the display, quickly committing her opponent to memory.

"The Yankee Clipper is fully at your command Admiral." came the half expected response.

"Excellent. Engage the enemy whenever you are ready Captain and. Let's get this done."

"Willdo Admiral. Bridge out." and with that, the Seventh Fleet dropped out of warp inside the Gnosh'thar system.
