Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1900Hrs - May 10th, 2392

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi was sitting behind her desk in her quarters, she was doing paperwork as her quarters were too quiet and too empty, she missed her kitties and her kits. She had just gotten used to them before this drama that was the Klingon's assault on the Gorn started.

Yamaguchi sighed softly as the doorbell went off, the older woman lifted her head as she cheered up instantly, grateful for an interruption, any kind of interruption, she was wearing a pair of jeans and a tank top rather than her usual duty uniform.

Standing at her door was the man that Lasarra Unal had become and a Bajoran medical officer she recalled from her time as an Executive officer on the USS Roanoke but she couldn't recall her name. Torilla quickly put the dots together and the look on her face went from confusion to concern. "Lieutenant..." she addressed Tienn. "Lasarra." she addressed the small man before her.

Tienn paused, as she suddenly remembered about the time she smashed Elizabeth's Yamaguchi's left knee with her boot and the ass-kicking that had hospitalized her eldest daughter. "Captain. I .. Umm.." the small Bajoran mentally tripped over what she wanted to say.

"You two had best come in." Torilla backed away, letting the two younger people into her quarters. "So... Lasarra, since when do you knock?" Torilla asked with a smile. "Not that I don't appreciate the respect of course. But I am confused."

"Well. you're the Captain of this ship and I don't live here... I've also been less than an acceptable member of this family." Nebris responded. A comment that simply shattered Torilla's mind and whatever response she was going to make.

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Can I get you guys anything to drink?" she inquired. "You do not owe me an apology as you never wronged me, young man. It's your siblings and Plataea that you must make amends to." she wasn't sure of how to process his explanation to her first question as she deflected it so she could have a moment.

Tienn paused. "Two glass of cold water please."

"Coming up," Yamaguchi ordered herself three glasses of water, she brought them back over and dished them out. "Go on with what you were saying Lasarra?."

"I know... I wanted to come see you first... While mom is scary when she's angry. You're the one who commands this ship." Unal explained why he was here more than anything else.

Torilla regarded him with a raised eyebrow. "Flattery will not help you with me, young man," she answered in an even tone. "Why are you here Lieutenant?" she addressed the Bajoran woman.

"I came to mediate a dispute. Between mother and son." Tienn responded. "and to share some news I got this morning." as soon as the small Bajoran woman said that, she sneezed six times in quick succession. "Gah. I hate being pregnant!" Tienn sighed. "Well. That's not. quite how I wanted to tell you." she then let out a sigh.

Torilla dropped the drink in her hand, it landed and then shattered, water splashing in all directions while the astonishment rippled over her face, she felt shocked and surprise radiating outwards, she then felt the responses from her other children, all on other ships nearby, reacting to her amazement.

"Umm. Wait.. what?" Torilla inquired after a few seconds of spouting gibberish.

Nebris nodded. "Yeah... Well, you see. While this wasn't exactly planned but. Tienn here is pregnant and I'm the father." he paused. "I intend to raise this child with her."

"Yep," Tienn responded with a cheery smile when she suddenly sneezed twice. "Personally though... I don't know how the Khost Kerris or Ezas survived sneezing all the time for their various pregnancies." the small Bajoran female lamented.

"We'll get through this. Somehow" Nebris responded as he gently rubbed her shoulders. "We just need to look into ways to cope is all."

Torilla blinked, as this was a side to Lasarra Unal that she had never imagined she or anyone else would ever see. "If I told Plataea this, she'd never believe me. Hell, I stand here, listening to you two and I'm not sure if I believe me." the older female responded quietly.

"Well. You're going to be a grandmother... again.." Tienn paused. "Considering what I did to Elizabeth that-" Tienn started but Yamaguchi cut her off.

"Tienn. You really must stop kicking yourself in the ass for that event. You were medicated and everyone involved forgave you long ago.." Torilla responded as she suspected that was the problem that was bothering the Bajoran female before her. "It was outside of your control and You and Elizabeth mended things ever since then.."

"Imparting forgiveness is a blessing." Tienn sighed softly. "We were able to resolve such things... But I can't make peace with myself for what happened.."

Nebris regarded her. "Tienn. Don't." he paused. "You're blaming yourself for the misdeeds of others... God knows I used to revel in it.. Until you showed me another way through life." he turned to Torilla. "Though... I would argue against hypocrisy." there was something in his tone.

"Well ever since that incident, its like I don't even recognize you, I keep expecting you to... be irresponsible and childish and-" Torilla ran out of steam as the older woman let out a sigh.

"You mean being an asshole.." Nebris responded with a smile. "That's why I took on grandfathers name.. a new start." he paused. "The JAG Officers are going to be processing it for however long it takes but the Operations guys already have my change of name on file."

"Well taming him was exhausting," Tienn added as she indicated Nebris. "But still... it was." she then shrugged as she smiled. "But Nebris felt you needed to know."

"Yes." Nebris nodded his head. "I'm going to be a father.. and you're going to be a grandmother," he said to Torilla who looked astonished. "I... I never expected that you would be the one to come in here,... and tell me this. Considering how things have gone before."

Tienn stood ready to intervene as Nebris nodded his head. "Yes. I was stupid. I didn't take the time to see what I had before me... I could have ended up anywhere yet I ended up on this carrier under your command. I mean what are the chances?"

Yamaguchi peered at him with her dark eyes. "Indeed. You could have gotten any of the other Heavy Carriers that are presently being commissioned."

Tienn regarded the larger female before her. "Captain... Whats your issue with Nebris here?" she inquired. "I'm getting the not so subtle hint that no matter what he says, you ain't gonna give him the time of day."

Yamaguchi paused. "His behavior as a female up to this point has honestly been shocking and deplorable at times.." she responded. "and now I find out that you've been turned into a male and you've become a totally new person overnight. I don't get it."

Nebris nodded his head. Perhaps some conversational judo was in effect. "Indeed... All other issues between us aside, you raise a good point."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she regarded him. "I was.. not expecting those word to come out of your mouth Las-" she paused. "Nebris." she paused another moment. "I sincerely hope that this is not an act.... Because if it is...You will not like me. Are we clear?" Torilla kept her voice down but there was no mistaking the iron behind her tone or the dark glare in her eyes.

"Crystal," Nebris responded quietly.

"Good." Yamaguchi sighed softly. "Now I recommend you two go share the news with your small army of relatives... Though I'd start with Ouros. I think she's feeling rather lonely so she's spending her off hours with her twin... god knows why she's bonded with Elizabeth but. I'm leaving that one alone.."

Tienn regarded Yamaguchi in silence, she had the feeling that this wasn't finished and in fact, this was only just getting started. "Captain Yamaguchi... Is it too much to ask that you at least keep an open mind where Nebris is concerned?"

"Lieutenant. I have been keeping an open mind where Nebris... My son is concerned. Did you really think his assignment here got past me or the CAG?" she inquired in a soft tone of voice. "Oh no. The CAG asked me for my input on the matter even before he was assigned here... Considering how you treated Rachael and her husband... I was less than enthusiastic about it. However I allowed it..." she explained.

Tienn paused. "So... Had you not signed off on it?..."

"I would not be here... I'd still be the person I was... Having learned nothing." Nebris sighed softly.

Yamaguchi regarded him. "I don't get it... You were female several weeks ago, you were reckless and irresponsible, now you become a man and then you suddenly become an upstanding citizen..." Torilla shook her head. "I don't get you."

Tienn regarded Yamaguchi. "Captain. I think you're being unreasonable. You're not even giving him the time or the chance to explain himself." she indicated Nebris.

Nebris raised an eyebrow but other than that, he decided to say nothing and let Tienn handle this issue.

Yamaguchi regarded the smaller female before her. "It's not about me being unreasonable or reasonable. It's about what Nebris has been through.."

Tienn narrowed her eyes. "You're doing it again." her tone indicated she was done fucking around and she was no longer taking prisoners.

"I am not doing anything-" Yamaguchi started but was cut off by Tienn steamrolling over her.

"Yes." Tienn snapped at her. "You are... You are judging him unfairly. He's not even your son and yet because you look like his mother, he came to you because he couldn't go to the woman who gave birth to him and you're being an asshole." Tienn finally blew up.

Nebris intervened before this argument got out of hand. "Ladies, this isn't helping anyone involved here," he explained gently. "Yes I have been through a major life altering event, yes I have learned a lot in a short space of time and yes I have had very little time to process all the changes I've had to deal with in addition to dealing with all the other changes coming my way."

Yamaguchi regarded Tienn in silence for a moment before she turned her attention to Nebris. "You make a compelling case... son." she paused. "But I don't understand you... Since you came back into my life, you've caused this ship and her crew no end of issues... Causing trouble in the lounge and I can only imagine how many others are having this major 'what the fuck' moment that I'm having right now. It takes guts to face what you are facing... and being willing to raise a child takes even more guts... Are you sure you are all right with all of this?"

"No," Nebrios answered simply. "No. I'm not ready for any of it... But I have three things going for me... I have help. I have hope... and I have her." he indicated Tienn.

Yamaguchi was speechless, the look on her face indicated as much. "Alright. Then I will help you as best as I can.." Yamaguchi responded. "But I have no idea of how to process the last twenty minutes. Considering many have written you off as trouble. One major life altering event and you turn into an upstanding citizen... I am concerned that you've been through too much in too short a time. but I'll help as best I can."

"Alright," Nebris responded before turning to Tienn. "Don't say it."

Yamaguchi smiled down at the shorter female but she said nothing.

"What?" Tienn inquired.

"You think mom is being unreasonable. But you're not seeing this from her perspective... She is not wrong about me." Nebris responded with a smile.

"Still. Congratulations to you both." Yamaguchi responded. "Nebris... Taking responsibility for this... It's something never expected from you and I'll be there to help you both in any way I can with anything you need. Both of you."

"Thanks, mom," Nebris answered, a gentle smile on his face.
