Mission: Mission 82: It Is War’s Prize to Take All Vantage.
Location: Outskirts - Jin'zakk System
Timeline: 1000Hrs - April 30th, 2392

Seated in her command chair on the USS Fall of Berlin. Captain Leah Anderson knew her ship needed the care that only a Federation shipyard could give her but she knew that the Lethal Shadow Squadron was being stationed in the Jin'zakk System to give the Klingons something to think about on their right flank, they needed to remain here until more Federation ships could be brought up. Anderson knew that Federation ship movements took time and while she didn't like it, she did understand it.

She turned in her chair to address her first officer who was seated nearby. "Where are we with repairs?"

Commander Maurice Logan sighed softly as he looked up from the PADD he was reading. "Well, we're not in that bad of shape... like most of the Lethal Shadow Squadron."

Anderson knew exactly to what he was referring to, two weeks earlier the Federation fleet and the Klingons met for a massive engagement and the Lethal Shadow Squadron had only been saved thanks to the timely intervention of a Gorn relief force and then the arrival of the Federation seventh fleet. However most of the Lethal Shadow Squadron had been towed home, most of them were in desperate need of repairs whereas the Fall of Berlin, Lethal Shadow, and several others had been ordered to the Jin'zakk System to assist the Gorn in holding the system.

"Yeah.." Anderson responded. "Tell me about it... We effectively have been out of the war for the last two weeks while we lick our wounds.." the handsome female growled. "Beverly. What're your thoughts on this?"

"We gave those bastards a good hammerin', even if it were nothing else." the older human female from Norway commented with a smile. "Besides, we came out of it alright.. Most of our ships did likewise.."

Lt Commander Ashiv Th'ezereth turned in his chair, the ships Chief Operations Officer who was also an Andorian Thaan sighed. "Many of us didn't come out of it at all." he reminded the older human female. "Your statement is callous and rather inflammatory."

"Are you so weak that you are bothered by my words?" Griffin responded with a rather malicious smile.

"Knock it off you two," Anderson commented from her chair. "I know you two have your issues but I'm ordering you two to drop whatever it is that's pissing you the fuck off here and now..." Captain Deepshadow snapped loudly. "If that is not clear then you get off my bridge!" she added in a loud tone.

The Captain losing her temper had the effect of silencing everyone and halting everything presently going on around the bridge. "Back to work people. Nothing more to see or hear." Commander Logan explained. "Come on guys... We got lots to do and little time to do it in.," he added, the second statement got people moving again.

It was about that point when the second Andorian on the bridge, a rather attractive looking Shen named Lt Commander Ezazaa Sh'zhonek who was also the Chief Counselor, sighed before she commented. "Guys, can we please focus on the task at hand.." she paused. "Master Chief. Ashiv, come with me. Let's go deal with your problem once and for all... Skipper?"

"Yes. Please, deal with those two before I murder them both." Anderson responded, now in a right foul mood.

The svelte Andorian Shen rose to her feet and led the two offending parties into the Captain's ready room as Anderson looked like she wanted to scream. Robert Anderson regarded his wife with a concerned look. "Skipper... you-" he turned. "Shit.!"

Lieutenant T'Rai turned her head as she interrupted. "Sir. I'm reading close to two hundred enemy contacts bearing one nine four mark three two six." the Vulcan female called out.

Anderson knew that her morning had now been totally derailed. "Bridge to Engineering, tell me we can fight?"

The response from Commander Anjohl Nerys was not very encouraging but it was a response. "Bridge, this is engineering. right now. I can give you long range missiles but no phasers. We need at least another twenty minutes to replace the main phaser power coupling."

Anderson's eyes went wide as a moment of terror passed through her, she took a moment to compose herself. "Understood engineering... We're about to go into battle... I need phasers... What about close in weapons support?"

"Those. I can give you limited Ceewizz." the Bajoran pronounced the term as Cee'Wizz. "I'm still replacing a third of the weapons mountings. Blast it... the Klingons really caught us this time." the Bajoran woman explained.

"Alright. I'll take it..." Anderson responded a heavy sigh sounded from her lips she turned to her husband. "Can you give me a breakdown of what we're facing?"

Anderson nodded. "I'm seeing a half dozen battleships, two dozen cruisers of various types and the rest are escorts but they also have sixty transport craft. It looks like they are going for a single knockout blow."

"What reinforcements have we got in the area?" Anderson asked, a tremor in her voice.

"None." Anderson turned back to his wife. "The Gorn are heavily committed elsewhere.." he explained to his wife who was also the skipper.

"Bollocks!" Lieutenant M'Noren responded from the back of the bridge.

Anderson turned in her chair as she regarded the large Bolian female standing at her post, with a smile on her face. "You ready for this?"

Lt Commander Hiraxea Gadiwat nodded back. "Even with reduced weapons, shields and armor. I will still hurt them at least." she paused. "Even I don't care for the odds against us."

"I hear ya." Commander Logan responded.

Anderson nodded. "As soon as they are within range, open fire with everything. Don't wait for me."

Gadiwat nodded. "Targeting, and deploying missiles," she commented as she proceeded to empty every single vertical launch cell on the Fall of Berlin that could be quickly reloaded. "And now we but look through a glass darkly." the female Bolian remarked softly as her two hundred or so missiles spread into the endless night before they crashed into several Klingon targets, one of them was a transport that flash-detonated in a truly impressive explosion.

Gadiwat turned. "T'Rai, what the hell did I just hit?"

"A transport ship that was heavily loaded with ammunition and weapons." the female Vulcan woman with blonde hair, responded in a light tone of voice. "There are several more. feeding locations to you now."

"Got them," Gadiwat responded all business. "Opening fire," she added for the record as she launched another several hundred warheads, the other Federation ships present were doing likewise, many landing hits on the Klingon ships closing on them, however, it was not all one-sided and the Federation ships were taking hits too. Anderson knew that the Federation ships couldn't afford them.

In the engineering section on the USS Fall of Berlin. Commander Anjohl Nerys tapped the display before her. "We need more time for these repairs," she muttered to herself. "Dammit.."

The com beeped at her. "Bridge to Engineering. Anjohl. I hate to be a pain.." came the comment from Leah Anderson.

"Captain. I can only patch the holes so fast.." the tall Bajoran responded with a sigh. "I'm working on it, however..." she paused. "You got phasers.."

Anderson's face lit up. "Fire!" she turned to Gadiwat as the large Bolian was working targeting all enemy ships with her new weapons that now had just come online.
