Mission:
Mission 80: The Arms are fair. When the Intent of Bearing Them is Just
Location: ACSF Noble Hospital
Timeline: Apr 18th 2392
Zeri Krynn found herself waking up in a very unfamiliar hospital, bandages wrapped around her midsection and she felt groggy as hell. So she laid there for a few minutes just getting her senses back together. The lights were very dim and she found that she was lying in what appeared to be a box of pillows rather than a conventional bed. The air was colder than a normal federation ship however with her thick fur, despite her complete lack of clothing, the cold didn't really bother her. Then she heard someone else walk in.
Norsvin Korr along with Aurelian Saunders, Minske Hyuro, and an Akurian medical officer named Keviso walked into the room where Zeri, Massae, Worf and the rest of the Enterprise-E senior staff were housed. the Akurian medical officer said simply. "Well for some it was more difficult than others, but they are all alive."
Saunders smiled. "Thank you for your care of my crew," she responded.
Worf groaned before he gingerly sat up, he took found himself lying in a large box of pillows while he had a large collection of bandages wrapped around his midsection. "What's... going on?" he rumbled. "Where am I?" he added as he looked around. "We are... Not aboard the Enterprise." He added as if stating the obvious.
Saunders slowly smiled. "No... It's a long story but. We are among friends... These are the Akurians who saved us... from Whoever it was attacking us... Everyone made it though... Even those who are... well back from the dead. Like yourself sir."
"Back from the dead?" Worf commented softly. "I did not think such technology was possible..." he paused as he sat up, before realizing that he was nude, however, he simply shrugged before turning his attention to the others before him. "How is the crew?"
"They are shocked and stunned... They've been moving over to the Noble... The ship we're aboard and are just starting to come to terms with what's happened... I'm also planning a get together for the entire crew to celebrate our survival."
"Good." Worf smiled. "It's good to know that we endured. Are these Akurians friendly?"
"Oh extremely. Also, the Chancellor and his crew came through more or less intact.. but both ships are very heavily damaged... Enterprise-E however." the older human female steeled herself to deliver bad news. "The old girl won't fly again. She's been far too badly damaged. I'm Sorry Worf... We did the best we could..."
Worf opened his mouth to say something but he stopped, he nodded. "I understand." Worf accepted the news as if the ship was an old friend which in Worf's case she most certainly was. "She was a fine ship and she will be remembered as such. As fates go... It was a far better fate than to be decommissioned and scrapped.."
"Yessir."
"You can call me by name Aurelian. I will not be offended." Worf responded lightly. "I don't think Starfleet will object if you did..."
"Okay... Worf." Saunders responded. "It feels strange calling you by name..."
"You will get used to it in time... I suspect we're here for the duration." Worf inquired.
"Depends on if we find a wormhole leading to your galaxy or not," Minske replied.
Worf nodded. "Very well... How ...soon can we be up and around?" he inquired. "Considering I assume some of us were dead for awhile..." he paused. "The last thing I remember was falling on the Enterprise's bridge...Something had hit me.."
"It had killed you. Right through the heart." Saunders explained. "Lieutenant Ward was struck by something that went through his neck, he bled out in seconds..." the older woman explained. "Oh, he's alive too."
Keviso nodded. "I think so, not too familiar with the names of all your crew members, however, there were twelve of them we couldn't save due to brain damage."
Worf nodded. "I understand... We thank you for your efforts on their behalf." he sighed softly. "Sto'vo'kor welcomes our dead... They earned their place among the black fleet... or whatever their cultures have for their afterlife.... But we will always remember those who fell defending us.." the large Klingon grunted. "How soon before we can leave Doctor.... I must see to my people... Let them know that we are alright and among friends.."
Keviso looked worn over then mentioned. "Well, you're not going to need any more surgeries, that's for sure, barring something unexpected coming up. However your body hasn't even come close to stabilizing on it own, and unfortunately, we don't have much experience with your species. So you are going to be on medications for the next several weeks until your body stabilizes, and we are going to have to keep you under pretty close supervision, on top of the time it's going to take for your physical injuries to heal. You can theoretically walk right now, but I guarantee you-you won't get that far. It will probably be a few days before you can walk around for more than a few minutes at a time."
Worf nodded. "I understand... I've never been good with being in sickbay so.."
"I will bring you the paperwork so you can still get something done Worf... I think I'm the only person in the entire crew who wasn't hurt by what happened." Saunders sighed softly.
"Thank you." Worf regarded her. "That bothers you." It was deliberately not phrased as a question.
"Yes, it does.."
"I understand that too," Worf responded.
Zeri stirred enough to roll on her side and then she felt a fluffy tail on her nose, which belonged to Massie. Not fully realizing whom the tail belonged to she began to snuggle with it, and in the process, she woke up Massie. Massie, who had also been briefly dead and later revived by the Akurians started to stir. It took her a moment for her senses to start working again and she registered an ongoing conversation. She finally started to feel the colder than usual air, and on top of that, the unusual smells told her two things, she was in some kind of hospital, and it wasn't Federation. Maybe they had been captured by their pursuers. Once that realization occurred to her she suddenly snapped wide awake, prompting her to sit up really fast. And immediately a wave of pain came over her lower back.
Keviso noticed Massie and commented. "Yeah, you shouldn't move too fast like that, you could reopen your wounds."
Massie let of a groan, then another realization came over to her, she was completely nude, aside from her natural fur. letting off a small high pitched shriek. "Ah, where are my clothes, why am I naked."
Minske's brain came to a complete halt as she turned and blankly stared at the snow leopard Caitian who seemed desperate to cover herself.
Worf blinked as he too had a brain breaking moment. "Lieutenant... What is the matter?" he inquired in a soft voice of Parks as she seemed to be having issues. "Are you alright?" the Klingon who like everyone else present was nude but unlike most Klingon's. He seemed comfortable in naught but his skin.
Massie shook her head vigorously. "I... I... I, don't like being naked." She then noticed Minske nearby whom typical of an Akurian wore nothing nor bothered to use her fur to cover her parts, which prompted Massie to quickly and nervously avert her eyes. Minske just had an incredulous look on her face.
Worf shook his head. "I... I do not understand your reasoning Lieutenant... I had assumed Caitians liked wearing only their fur.." his tone fif not chnage from soft and reasonable.
Minske turned her attention to Worf's comment. "Eh, just because a species or individual is furry doesn't always determine clothing habits."
Worf nodded. "This is indeed true," he responded. "I imagine all Klingons are not as comfortable out of clothing as I am." as he shifted his position. "A little softer than what I'm used to but it's acceptable."
Keviso then added. "Well, when we treated you guys, most of you had your clothing pretty thoroughly trashed. Especially hers," He pointed at Massie, her clothes were so thoroughly blood-soaked they were completely ruined.
Alyssa then suggested to Saunders. "Well I'd imagine much of the crew will be a lot more sensitive about it than our captain, so I'll go round up a detail and gather up the belongings and clothing from the ship, well for those that still have intact quarters anyway."
"Sounds good Alyssa. Go for it. Keep me informed if you wish." Saunders responded with a smile. "Thank you for handling it."
Worf smiled in silence. Yes, he greatly liked the crew he had, while they were a scratch crew, cobbled together from various sources, he would see to it they would receive the honors and accolades they deserved when they got home.
Alyssa nodded then left to go take care of this task. Meanwhile, the Keviso approached Massie, saying. "Relax, you don't want to reopen your injuries." He then gently touched the Caitian and in the process, he quickly realized that this wasn't just a case of a simple nudity taboo.
Saunders regarded Massie. "Don't worry. Soon you'll be out of here in a few days and you can find a uniform that'll fit you." he paused. "Wait... whats wrong with her?"
Keviso put his hand down and turned to Saunders with an uncertain look. "I'm not really sure." He then walked over to Saunders, with a look of 'follow me please.'
Saunders turned before she followed the Doctor in silence before she caught up to him several dozen feet later. "Whats up?" she asked softly.
Keviso looked up at the ceiling, a bit of uncertainty in his voice. "Do you know if she was abused earlier in her life because it felt like her issue is more than just a simple case of being overly modest."
"I had that thought myself more than a few times," Saunders responded. "I think... I'm not sure... but I think she might have been raised by human parents.." Saunders paused as she tapped her chin. Clearly in thought. "I'll need to read her file to be sure..." she paused a second time. "I have no idea if she was abused or even if it was ever reported or mentioned."
"Well, it's worth looking into because she is going to have a hard time adjusting to this ship," Keviso replied.
"Because everyone is nude," Saunders responded. "Well.. those in their fur anyway..." she smiled. "Plus it's colder than the usual," she added. "You're right.. It is worth looking into.." she sighed softly.
