Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: The Kilrog System - Various Locations
Timeline: 0000Hrs - April 16th, 2392
Major General Kuzyk regarded the hordes of angry Klingon troops around him as he stood inside the massive hanger bay of the battleship he was aboard, much like his troops, he longed for the sounds of battle to fill the air and he wanted to get planetside as quickly as possible. "Hear me!" he called. "Hear me!" he yelled loudly.
The various troops all turned en mass to listen to the words of the general as a harsh voice announced that drop would be starting shortly.
"A great day dawns, my troops!" he began his speech which even to his ears, sounded stupid and corny but he had been told it would motivate the masses and the like. "A great day... a red day written in the blood of our enemies... a day when we will conquer the hated Gorn forever and make them a part of the empire as slaves to be used for our glory!. Onward my troops.... to battle and glory!" and with that, he turned before boarding his landing craft.
The two pilots were already seated and were ready to go. "General." one of them turned to acknowledge him before turning away, back to his post as he ignored the General completely.
"Huh?"..." she General responded. "What...Oh... right." as Kuzyk was highly tempted to yank out his sidearm and gun the man down for his insolence.
The pilot had no idea that this thought was in the mind of the General as he simply continued his preflight checks when suddenly he turned to the pilot. "Preflight checks complete. We're ready"
"Excellent." responded the senior pilot. "Transport Command, this is transport Niner Eight One Eight Zulu. We're prepared for the drop." he paused. "All stations ready for drop."
The answer came back. "Understood. Prepare for drop."
The pilot nodded as he responded. "Roger that." he turned. "General.. are your men ready.?"
"We have been ready for the last while."
The pilot recognized the bravado of a military man facing something totally new to him. "Yes yes.." the pilot muttered to himself. He turned back to the console. "We are ready."
"Good. Removing outer docking collar and.. transferring flight control to you now."
The pilot smiled. "Confirmed." and with that, he launched the massive dropship out of the hanger and down towards Kilrog Four which was a cold world and as a result, it was lightly populated.
Meanwhile planetside, several dozen Gorn prepared to face the enemy they knew would be coming shortly, the massive beings loaded up with weapons and personal armor to withstand the cold. The Gorn's leader, a man named Grosh'thar sighed softly. "The Klingons are coming.." he commented. "Arm yourselves... we must not let this base fall."
"There are too many of them!" responded one of his troops.
"Yes.." Grosh'thar answered bluntly. "But we will make them pay for this base.." he rumbled. "As soon as you are ready, take your places.. and prepare for battle.
The Gorn around him did so before Grosh'thar moved into the command center. "Prepare to erase all information presently stored at this facility and when wipe the datacores afterward." he paused. "Is that distress call package ready yet?"
"Yessir." came the response from a rather attractive female Gorn nearby. "The Klingons are jamming most of our transmissions but.. not all."
"Good.. send the package.." Grosh'thar responded. "Then move to the secondary command center. This one just became forget... The Klingons will seek to silence it with warheads."
The female Gorn did so, within seconds a loud booming sound echoed off the walls, while the facility itself shook and the sounds of rock being crushed could be heard.
"Go Now!" Grosh'thar responded. "I will lock this place down..." and with that, he went over to the large holotable, he could see plainly the Klingons had started their invasion but the distress call had gotten out and was even now being heard across the system.
Grosh'thar smiled as he deactivated the systems in the main command center before he activated the large warhead that had been placed in here earlier, he then withdrew from the room before the warhead activated, demolishing the command center.
The massive Gorn went into the hangar where even now the Klingons were storming the facility. Grosh'thar lifted his rifle and began shooting at the Klingons.
