The Last Goodbye - Parting is Such Sorrow

Posted on Mon Mar 9th, 2020 @ 7:44am by Commander Tienn Iteela & Director Tienn Gyce

Mission: Mission 81: They Shall Have Wars and Pay for their resumption
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0830Hrs - April 11th, 2392

If Lieutenant JG Tienn Iteela had known what would be crossing her desk in the next ten minutes, she would have stayed home and avoided it for as long as she could but like the inexorable march of time, its relentless and ever moving forward and like the sad inevitability of entropy, it's inescapable.

The small Bajoran female was in one of the offices, doing administrative work for Lt Commander Fordring so Galiaan could handle another matter with her husband, that was convincing her husband that he needed to impregnate her so she could have more children. In truth, Tienn was envious of the larger Vrykul woman as she wanted the same thing that Galiaan had. So she made it clear that she would cover for the larger woman when needed.

Tienn looked up as Gyce appeared at her doorway. "Gyce. Come on... What's wrong?" the small Bajoran regarded her girlfriend.

"I..umm.. we need to talk," Gyce responded. "Got a few minutes?"

"Yeah.." Tienn let out a soft sigh. "Come on in..." as she tapped the door, it slid closed a moment later. "Whats going on?" the younger Bajoran inquired.

"I've been reassigned... I'm heading back to SCIS, My new posting is on Earth Spacedock as head of their SCIS detachment."

"Oh... Congratulations." Tienn responded in a soft tone. "Permanent I assume?"

"As far as I can tell.." Gyce lamented softly. "I wanted to stay here. I'd gotten used to this posting and all of its... idiosyncrasies... and I was enjoying this... But I'm wanted and I'm not being given the choice to refuse either. Apparently, someone on Earth Spacedock is doing a prostitution ring and they want my skills to deal with it.."

"Ahh," Iteela responded with a soft huff. "So... When do you leave?"

"In an hour... I have enough time to say goodbye to you, then head home and pack anything I wanna take with me... Which will be very little honestly." the older Bajoran sighed softly. "I'm sorry Iteela."

"For what.. You didn't request reassignment..." Tienn responded. "Or did you?"

"No.. I had no reason to leave.." Gyce responded with a soft huff. "I had reason to consider a different career other then law enforcement.." Gyce sighed softly. "I guess something new is not for me..."

Tienn gently hugged the older woman before the two women shared a rather passionate kiss. Gyce sighed as she broke the kiss. "I must go." and with that, the older woman turned and departed quickly.

Tienn Iteela sunk back into her chair as she sighed softly. Her girlfriend and the woman she was falling in love with was leaving her and the Roanoke, she couldn't stick in for reassignment on such short notice, she picked up her PADD and with a sigh of resignation, the younger Bajoran went back to work, as she began to cry.

Meanwhile, Gyce walked down the hall, she looked miserable as she walked into the turbolift down at the end of the hallway. "Deck eight section four," she said in a soft tone, her voice cracking.

Gyce stood in silence as her mind wandered back to recent events between her and her girlfriend, as she sighed softly. The doors opened and Gyce stepped out before she went into her quarters. Twenty minutes or so the Bajoran female emerged, one duffel over her left shoulder before she turned left and went down the hallway towards the next destination on her list. In this case, it was the hanger bay so she could catch her ride.

A few minutes later, the doors opened as Gyce went over to the hanger office, she sighed as she received the information for her flight over to the Federation orbital station which was orbiting B Kayor.

Gyce nodded before she went over to the shuttle that had been detailed for her, she stepped aboard and the door sealed itself behind her before the shuttle took off and departed.

Gyce knew her time on the USS Roanoke was over, this chapter of her life was now closed and she sighed, she had been ripped from a place she called home and she would adapt and move on with life.
