The Battle of Ogat

Mission: Mission 65: And Death Rained Down
Location: The Ogat System
Timeline: 1000Hrs - March 7th, 2392

Tethi regarded L'heki as he proceeded to brief the troops on the details of the mission before them. "Do not let yourselves become clouded by the dog of war. Keep your focus firmly on the here and now where it belongs... Now all units plot course for the Ogat system and engage cloaks.. Warp there and we will crush what is left of Wohavi's forces."

She licked her lips as she nodded to his office, he regarded her with a simple nod, leading her into his office, he then closed the door behind her.

Twenty minutes or so later the fleet began to get underway for the Ogal system, all of them under cloak and while it might have been rushed or overly prepared, it was quiet as there was no singing or cheering for battle. The crews involved knew what was coming and what had to be done so they focused their efforts on the tasks before them in battle.

The first ships from Tethi's forces dropped out of warp at the edges of the system, as they began spotting targets of opportunity so the ships involved simply broke formation and began attacking various targets of opportunity.

As the fireballs from exploding munitions or exploding ships began to fill the outer system. Wohavi and her force of some sixty ships exited warp over the 'top' over the system and entered orbit of Ogat, their goal was to protect the planet and wait for the enemy to come to her.

Tethi's forces began eliminating outlying battlegroups quickly and with her usual cunning and stealth whereas L'Heki went for more brute force in his tactics, like having a Negh'Var ram the Starbase orbiting Ogat Four, which did massive damage to the base shields, much of the debris however began colliding with other sections of the station which within moments of the collision, the station went mova in a truly massive conflagration, the explosion caught six other ships nearby, shattering three of them, damaging one and crippling two which were quickly picked off by L'heki's other ships present over this planet before they began to 'glass' Ogat Four with a massive orbital barrage from their weapons.

Tethi meanwhile began focusing her efforts on Wohavi's remaining ships scattered all over the system. She smiled as the ship she was on herself began to engage three birds of prey. Her first shot shattered one of them as she began shooting at the other two. The second fell moments later as the third wheeled about and began shooting back at her ship, the weapons did very little damage.

Tethi turned. "Please kill that thing." and her wish was carried out as the Bird of prey's final death throes joined a planet what was being consumed by fire nearby from an orbital barrage.

"Sir.. Reports indicate that the system other then Ogat has been all but taken."

"Excellent.. Status of the fleet.."

"We've lost forty percent of all of our warships... and many of the rest are damaged." came the expected report."

"Status of everyone else?"

"Colonel L'Heki's ships are greatly reduced, they took sixty percent losses and the Colonel himself is in dire straights."

"Then he will die well." Tethi responded evenly. "Move groups two and three in to skirmish with Wohavi. I want her attention focused... but tell our ships not to do anything stupid.. I want them to whittle her down."

"Right away sir."

"Once her forces are engaged. move in our remaining fleet, even the damaged ships... have those ships sacrifice themselves to kill the enemy ships and that Starbase.."

"Yes sir. Right away."

Tethi smiled as she sat back in her chair, the battle beginning to unfold before her.

Meanwhile on the badly damaged K'Tinga cruiser. the IKS Ho'noss. HoD N'us sighed. "Alright.." the female responded. "No way of stopping the core beaching?"

"Negative bridge.. This ship is doomed."

"Understood... Everyone out, you have given your best with honor.. the ship however will be sacrificed to damage that base. I will ensure that happens."

The crew simply complied, rather then protest her choice. They all fled their posts and the bridge in shorty order as N'us sat down in the conn officers chair as she began plotting the course. "Engine room.. How long?"

"Four minutes."

"Very well." N'us responded. "Computer activate self destruct sequence.. Set three minutes and forty five second from mark. Mark!"

"Self destruct will detonate in three minutes forty five second, warp core beach in three minutes forty five seconds."

N'Us sighed as she sat back and downloaded all of her files into the ships log bouy, she then began to record her last will and testament. "This is Captain N'us. I fought for Tethi against the vile usurper Wohavi. My crew has fought with honor but I was I alone who died to ensure this starbase is destroyed. my crew were acting under my command and supervision... Do not penalize them for my actions... signed this day of Ngacht. In the year of Kahless ten Sixteen."

Wit that she tapped 'save.' then she uploaded that file to the buoy as well, then she fired off the buoy along with the various escape pods as they fled the doomed hulk of a ship they once called home.

N'us tapped the 'engage' button once as the ship started on its last mission, it managed to make it through the maelstrom of weapons fire, even taking several hits, it rammed the base right as its core collapsed.

The station couldn't handle the abuse as the base went nova in a massive explosion as the orbital space more or less began to fall to the invaders.
