Mission: Mission 63: Second Nature
Location: Transporter Room Two / Captain's Ready Room - USS Alaska
Timeline: 0800Hrs Local Time - February 28th, 2392

Commander Derris Feraan smiled as she regarded her replacement while the smaller Bajoran woman along with four young children all materialized on the transporter pad at the same time. "Commander Duval?"

"Yes. I am her." Duval responded.

"Excellent." Derris smiled down at the shorter woman but then everyone on the ship was smaller then she herself was. "Welcome aboard... May the Prophets walk with you Commander.." as she hefted her massive pack as she stepped forward, passing the other woman. "Energize Chief."

Feraan had already made her farewells and now she was departing for good. Duval smiled as she turned and went out the door, her four children following in silence.

Fred looked left then right before he followed his mother down the hallway in silence, he had a much darker skin tone then she did simply because he got it from his father, it was much the same with Kelly and Linda but not so much with John as he favored his mother in looks rather then his dad.

This small family's first stop was the quartermasters office, so she could pick up her quarters assignment, she entered a turbolift, followed by her small group of children. "Interesting place mom." John commented softly.

"How so?"

"The hallways are somewhat larger then I was expecting.." the child responded.

Duval smiled to herself as she waited for them to reach their destination, the doors slid open and the small group emerged from the lift before they went off to their destination.

The doors opened at Duval's approach, she looked left then right as the two personnel already here regarded her. "Can we help you Commander?"

"Yes. I'm here for my room assignment... I want to pick that up before I go report in."

"Right... Commander Duval Mia right?"

"Yes, I am she." Duval answered with a smile as the Petty Officer handed her a PADD. "There you do, Deck four section eleven, family quarters."

"Thank you." the Bajoran responded.

"Welcome aboard sir."

Duval nodded but it was Fred who said it instead. "Thanks." and with that the group set off again, finding their destination shortly. "Mommy, is Daddy around?"

"He's... somewhere around here... I'm not sure where.." she paused. "Last I heard he was stationed on another ship.." she sighed softly. "But we'll see him soon." Duval added to the obviously delighted children who clearly missed their father. "Alright... go pick rooms... the master bedroom is mine... there are four others girls and boys... so no fighting or... I will pick for you."

John poked his head out from the second bedroom. "I like this one."

Linda picked out hers and so did Fred. Kelly looked at the last one. "Its not bad.." she admitted. "Are they all the same size.?"

"Yep." Duval responded with a smile as she dropped her duffel off on the sofa before she stretched upwards to work the kinks out of her arms.

"Okay..." she sighed. "You guys stay here and behave... go get unpacked and I'll be back soon." she responded. "I need to go see the Captain... Let him know I'm alive."

With that Duval departed her quarters before she entered a turbolift nearby, she headed to the bridge,. Minutes later she reached her destination. She requested entry and soon found herself standing in Captain Teyo Kemoke's office.

Duval regarded the smaller Caitian. "Commander Duval Mia reporting for duty sir." she greeted him. "I'm your permanent Exec."

Teyo looked up from his computer, "Ah your here, I'm Captain Teyo Kemoke."

"Thank you sir." Duval responded evenly. "I'm apparently permanently assigned here... " she responded as she sat down in one of the three chairs before her. "Do you require anything of me?" she paused before she smiled.

Teyo shook his head. "No not immediately, You pretty much have the day off to settle in."

"Thank you." Duval smiled. "I'll be able to get my children settled in and the like... Also... when my husbands ship is present, I will be billeting with him... For obvious reasons." her smile widened.

Teyo didn't catch with she was implying, simply replying with. "So your going to want to bunk on his ship then."

"Only when he is around." Duval responded with a smile on her lips. "When he is not.... Then I will bunk on this ship. He is my husband and father to my children... I will not deny him."
