Taking out the Nest

Mission: Mission 61: The Blood-Dimmed Tide
Location: Planet Surface - Durandall
Timeline: Feb 5th 2392

Ahunei observed as the strike force got into position. A Dozen Squads of SF troopers where in position along with 7 vehicles of various types. Once they where ready, Ahunei gave the command. "Open fire."

A Super heavy tank, armed with a 20 cm railgun, fired its main weapon at the walls of the fortress, the hypersonic projectile made a thunderous sound as it sped at the fortress walls at over 35 times the speed of sound. The round easily pierced the wall's and exploded once it reached the middle of the wall, blowing a huge hole in the side.

Michael Yamaguchi raised his rifle before he checked to make sure none of the degrees would fall on them as they went through the breach in the wall. "Nice.... Think we did enough?" he inquired generally. "Alright... my guys with me!" and with that he moved into the breach.

Ahunei led the battlesuit infantry, leading the assault while the others used the battlesuits as cover. The lance round had inflicted a lot of damage and any guards what where on the other side of the wall where dead. Other guards where just now being alerted to the intrusion and started scrambling to defend the facility, however they got cut down the moment they appeared.

Meanwhile, the platoon leader, 1st Major Eriys, announced over the comm," Alright, Ahunei, take your Squad down to the generators and destroy them, they are four levels below you, below the prison cells it looks like. Then once that's done link up with Vakrinn's Squad in freeing the prisoners. Yuuzim, take the command center out of commission."

Ahunei nodded," alright squad, form up on me, lets go."

Yamaguchi nodded as he followed the three meter behemoth who was armored to the teeth with weapons to match. "right behind you." he commented before he covered her from the right side, he then suddenly pulled the trigger and drilled another Kingon with a couple of shots from his rifle.

The man fell to the deck, dead. as the group made their way into a large area filled with prisoners. "What... the hell?" Michael Yamaguchi inquired aloud, he spoke softly but there was no missing his surprise.

Ahunei checked the cells, noticing not all the prisoners where Ferasian. but after examining the force fields sealing them in she commented," Cant free them yet, we have to destroy the power generators first.

Tanvax, one of the Ankuri growled. "I am really starting to hate the klingons now.

Ahunei didn't say much as she led her squad to the power generators, mowing down any klingons dumb enough to stand in her way.

Erimo, the small Kukai Alizure whom had just succeeded in covertly slitting the throat of an unaware klingon guard, commented.
"mmmmm, I just love the smell of fresh blood in the morning.

Hakavak shook his head," Even after all this time, you still creep me out."

Yamaguchi chuckled. "Its better then the smell of napalm." he quipped. "What... Fresh meat!" as he proceeded to shoot the last Klingon dead. "Okay, this area is secure... Skipper?"

Ahunei pointed at the Generators, " Alright Hakavak, demo it."

The wolf like stormknight nodded and went over to the generator pulling out a demo charge," Alright you guys know the drill, if i start running, get the hell out of here."

"Nah. We'll be fine.." Yamaguchi responded as he got set up by the door. "Just in case anyone comes through." he added.

Hakavak started setting the charges, first saying, opps. He then continued, feigning clumsiness, "dammit." He then kept working at it before ending with. "Crap, I screwed that up."

Yamaguchi sighed. "Its red, red, green... not red, green, red...." he then let out a dramatic sigh.

Hakavak smiled," Oh right." he continued setting the device then finally," Uh oh, alright time to go."

Ahunei nodded," Alright clear the room."

The whole squad left the generator room and once they where clear, Ahunei detonated the charge, destroying the generator. Then once the power was out the squad returned to the prison cells. There Ahunei took count and noticed, there where even a few humans present in the group.

The large human male at the back of the room slowly moved forward until he was standing face to face with Michael Yamaguchi. "Who are you?" he almost growled.

"We're here to free you."

"We've heard this trickery before... Prove your intentions..." responded the human.

Yamaguchi blinked. "Right.. umm.." he turned to Ahunei. "Walk these guys outside?"

The being simply watched in silence. "Are you in league with the Klingons?"

"You just watched us kill a bunch."

"Semantics.. Klingons kill each other all the time... This house is hated by many... Prove yourselves and your intentions..."

Ahunei removed her helmet, revealing her face," Do I look like a Klingon to you."

"No... But you could be a member of a slave species from another Klingon world, we've had this before.. with House Te'kevek guards in a fake rescue attempt before.. We were lucky they didn't kill us.. except a few of my fellow prisoners simply disappeared and never came back... I suspect that one of the guards skinned them alive." he explained.

"Whats your name.."

"My name is unimportant.. but if it matters.. you may call me John." the massive being explained. "I have grown to enjoy killing Klingon's.."

Two Klingon guards did attempt to intervene by rushing into the room but Ahunei quickly reduced both of them into little more than meaty chunks with her autocannon. She then turned back to John," Alright, right now, I don't particularity care whether you believe me or not right now, nor do I have the patience or time to argue with you on the matter. So you can either come with us or stay here and take your chances with whatever klingon's are left alive on this dirt pile of a planet. We have over 7 billion other slaves to rescue, so needless to say, time is not a luxury we have."

"Very well." John turned to the Caitians. "Alright.. Lets go guys.." he commented softly.

Ahunei led them and her squad back out of the fortress and through the big hole in the wall. Meanwhile Yuuzim's squad also existed the fortress commenting," Well, mission accomplished, we have the location of House Te'kevek's main fortress."

John found out that these guys were the real deal as the Federation personnel began beaming up the prisoners quickly.

Yamaguchi turned as he watched the liberated slaves all be evacuated. "Alright.. Lets go pay our... disrespects.."

Once all the freed prisoners where beamed away and all squads out of the fortress 1st Major Eriys gave the order," Alright, all big guns, wipe that fortress of the map."

Three super heavy Artillery tanks, stationed 17 km away, turned their huge 28.5 cm guns on the fortress and began shelling it relentlessly, with their shells set to very high power settings. The fortress would be leveled in a matter of 15 minutes but Eryis didn't care to wait around," Alright troops, lets move on to the next target." An Iconian portal from Ryazar's shield opened to allow the troops to redeploy.
