Mission: Mission 49: The Stars Look Down

Timeline: 1500Hrs - November 9th, 2391

Commander Thomas Lasky was sitting in his office as he reflected on the last year of his life as he recalled that he had very nearly turned down this assignment were it only for the fact that 'Phoenix' had been the one who had requested him to come with her as they needed pilots to fill out USS Roanoke's flight rosters. She had cited his career and his true path, that of the warrior.

He had since requested and was granted part of the machine shop in the old tower pod for use as a forge and while he missed the old forge he was rebuilt it on the new tower pod, except this one was ten percent larger but he was still able to make all of his equipment and gear fit inside it, it was also much safer as he didn't need to block off so much access and approaches.

Lasky had saved the information of the various orders of what people had requested of him when the old forge went down with the old pod but he had come back with new craftsmanship and since he had the time, he was able to finish his various orders and get them out to the recipients.

Lasky's thoughts turned to the second woman in his life who's relationship with him was complicated and complex. Elizabeth Yamaguchi was many things but she was not a simple woman. Since Torilla had refused to have anything to do with her biological child that her daughter was now carrying to terms for her, it was an easy assumption to make as to why Torilla had done this because Tom knew Torilla quite well and he had made it his business to get to know both women. He had succeeded quite brilliantly one could add.

"Computer... halt playback.." he paused as he slowly smiled. "Torilla... I could ask why.." Lasky said aloud as he recalled that he had bedded both women not even a few months apart. Elizabeth was much more subtle then her mother but both had their own personal styles that were very different. Lasky pushed the thought of Torilla's lithe body away from him as Elizabeth's nude form seemed to come in to replace her mothers. While the bedding of both women were memories that he treasured, he knew it annoyed Jake and aggravated Kameron. Both men were his old friend and his student respectively.

Elizabeth had about a month to go before his son would come into the world and while this would change things between him and Elizabeth. He would always have a space for her at his dinner table and in his life as she was the one who had given his son life and also, she had sacrificed for it. He knew he must honor her for what she had done for him.

He would do so with the raising of his son and his future children with Zara Tane.

A soft sigh escaped his lips before he lifted the last remnants of his drink to his lips, he finished it and then he turned and got back to his paperwork, knowing full well that work waited for nobody and that he still had a job to do, as much as it didn't interest him anymore.
