Mission:
Mission 33: Losing the Peace
Location: Planet Surface - Tarod IX
Timeline: 1900Hrs - June 10th, 2391
Oriana left the tavern content with her meal. She felt the cold breeze hit her face. It would be at least several hours before she could return to the Dreamcrusher. She decided to enter the forest. It wouldn't be that hard as the small settlement was surrounded by woods.
She left the prefabricated buildings of the colony. She went further into the woods. She could feel the energy from the trees. For the first time in long while she felt close to her people's roots. Oriana dropped to her knees. She closed her eyes and raised her head as she felt the harmony of the forest move through her.
Then, there was a disturbance. She opened her eyes and quickly looked around. She saw the five male Tylwyth start to surround her.
"What do you want?" Oriana worriedly asked.
"We want you." Myrloeg replied. "You are a deserter and you will face punishment."
"I was on a freighter that got lost through the wormhole." Oriana tried to ruse the men. "It was an accident that left me here."
"Don't lie to me!" Myrloeg screamed at her. "You are First Officer Oriana of the Tylwyth vessel, Tears of Nos."
Oriana swallowed hard. She bit her lower lip. "I'm an officer with the Federation now. If you do anything to me it will cause an incident." Oriana threatened.
"You are a mutineer." Myrloeg flatly told her. "The League is willing to risk relations to bring a criminal to justice."
"You could just show me mercy and leave." Oriana desperately pleaded.
"I was the Chief Gunner on the Fire Tooth." Myrloeg told Oriana. She went very pale and felt cold. "I have suffered many years because of you and now it is your turn to be tormented." Myrloeg told her with a snarl on his face.
McKnight smiled as he intervened. "I'd recommend you leave the lady alone boys..." as he picked up a decent sized branch, fallen from one of the trees nearby. "So... Check your mouths and... Leave... Now." as McKnight slowly moved towards the gathering.
"You should mind your own business, pink skin." Myrloeg barked while pulling out a dagger.
"This... is my business Fuckface." Kerass responded cooly, as a smile appeared on his face. "So... who wants to dance first?" and with that, he swung with all of his strength, the blunt end of the tree branch connected with one of the male's jaw's just behind the ear, the impact had a dull sickening sound as the victim dropped to the ground, blood gushing forth from the wound. "Come on old man.... Let's do this... since you are intending to shed some blood..."
"You stupid fool!" Myrloeg howled at Karass. "Crwl, make sure Oriana doesn't escape. We need to take care of this dim witted human."
Crwl didn't draw his dagger but was on Oriana very quickly. Oriana landed a kick in his stomach. Crwl growled as he absorbed the kick and then grappled Oriana by her shoulders. He threw her hard onto the ground and started beating her.
Myrloeg and the other two crewmen came at Karass with their daggers. Myrloeg in particular was swinging wildly.
Keras knew now the time for talk was over as he waited, he swung the branch at the last second, it connected across the second guys face, he went one way and his nose went another as he began screaming. "My face..." he screamed as he clutched at the savaged remnants of his once proud features, as blood gushed between his fingers.
Kerass meanwhile ducked the first swing of the leaders daggers and he blocked the second, before he kicked the third guy in the head, he had no compunctions about using force to make his point but he drove his foot into the man's skull as hard as he could.
Crwl saw the melee and thought better of his actions. He released Oriana and ran into the woods. Oriana sat up and looked around, still shocked from the events.
Karass turned as he jabbed Myrloeg with the branch. "I think you're now about to get screwed... Drop your daggers and I'll let you leave... With your dignity.." he then swung the branch as he connected with the man's left hand, a loud snapping sound ensured. "Drop em!"
Myrloeg clenched his teeth as he endured the pain. In a rapid motion, he swung across Keras' chest cutting into his rib cage then reverse swung across his stomach and then across the human's face.
"You belong to truly a stupid race." Myrloeg told Keras.
"So do you Fuckface... Never get within range of an unarmed opponent." and with that he swung up with the tree branch still in his hands, the musical toonk that was head was saying something as Myrloeg went down. Karass swung the tree branch down on his head, then he swung it again, again landing on his head, quite litteraly crushing the man's skull.
"I think he's dead." Oriana told Karass. "You can stop now."
Karass sighed as he slowly came to a stop. "Who were these guys?" he responded quietly.
Oriana was still a little shaken. "They are of my race. I think they came here to trade." She told him. "I'm a mutineer and they wanted to kill me."
Karass looked down at the fallen body of the leader. "Mmm.." he responded. "I see.." he responded. "So... whats your story?" he inquired. "and how does this guy factor into it?"
"He was an officer on a ship that chased our ship down." Oriana explained. "For whatever reason he was blamed for some of us escaping. Killing me would have cleared his name."
Karass sighed as he looked down at his own wounds. "Come on... lets go back into town.... the bodies stay here..."
"You don't want to call medical?" Oriana asked. "I think a couple of them might be alive."
Karass regarded her. "Honestly... no." he responded quietly. "I should check them..." and with that he checked the first guy over, the one who was missing a face. "Nope... this one's dead."
He moved to the second guy, missing a jaw. "Nope. he's dead too." before he checked the other two remaining bodies. "Nope... all dead.." he responded. "One of them escaped... come on, we gotta go.."
Oriana nodded in agreement. "We should get back into the settlement." She then clumsily stood up. "We need to report this to the colony provost."
Karass sighed softly. "Alright. lets go." he rose to his feet. "Still... I wonder if we should leave their equipment here?."
"You need to go to sickbay before you bleed to death." Oriana replied. "I wouldn't worry about there equipment. They probably only have daggers and communicators on them. We turned those into the Star Fleet when we took sanctuary in the Federation."
"Someday. I'd like to hear the tale about the mutiny he was talking about.... but not now." Karass turned as he began limping slowly back to town, the pain he had been keeping at arms length now threatening to overwhelm him.
