Mission 21: The Breen
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0900Hrs - January 1st, 2391
Aerin watched as teval came on the bridge," So have we gotten any closer to getting a cure for this bug."
Teval sighed in annoyance, "Unfortunately no, not really."
Aerin looked back at the engineering console, "And so far less than 40 members of the crew remain unaffected, including us two, Hakaya and Karryn."
Teval nodded," Pretty much." he then looked at Fordring, whom was looking rather tired at the helm, and was the only other person on the bridge. "How you holding up."
"I'm alright..." Fordring responded quietly. "These long assed shifts are exhausting.." he looked from Teval before he turned back to the display before him.
Teval walked over to Fordring saying," Well, we will get relief soon, the Tranquility will be here shortly, and the Ashes of Winter."
"Ashes of Winter..." Fordring muttered. "I imagine the Admiral himself will want to know how the ladies in his life are doing..."
Teval nodded," Yeah. He is not going to be happy when he finds out what happened."
"Yeah..." Fordring looked at his panel. "Woulds you be... if your children were dealing with this bug.... would I be any happier if Galiaan or our children and grandchildren had this bug?.." he then shrugged.
Teval didn't say anything further. He just sat down at the chair, when a few minutes later, the ships red alert went off.
Aerin didn't wait for Teval to ask, "We have an intruder alert, intruders are near the ships main computer core, and near engineering."
Teval rushed over to Aerin, "Who?."
Aerin hit a few commands, before saying," Breen."
Fordring shrugged. "We will destroy them.."
The command consoles on the bridge started acting strange, and the lights started to flicker, "They are trying to lock us out of the computer core."
"Can you lock them out," Teval asked, as he opened up the bridge arms locker and retrieved his gauss rifle.
"Trying," Aerin said furiously, "My AI is busy encrypting it, but I cant guarantee, that with the way,... Fuck they are using an admirals command code."
Teval didn't hesitate, "Fine, zeroise the computer core."
Aerin gave him a look, "You know we will be utterly unable to function if we do that."
"Its better than them getting all our data," Teval replied flatly, as Hakaya and Karryn both came onto the bridge.
Aerin sighed, then hit a few commands, which began the process of zeroising the main computer core, and one of the secondaries. Then he got up saying," One of the secondary computer cores is disonnected right now, we will have to zeroise it manually. Also we are still going to have to secure all other smaller computer systems as well."
Teval nodded, then hit the ships intercom, "Attention all hands, we have intruders on the ship, the Breen are trying to steal our classified information, everyone whom is able, zeroise your computer systems.
Meanwhile, Ra'Vak and Varkon where in engineering when the announcement came. No sooner, several Breen came through the door and started shooting. Unfortunately for them, the nearest target was Varkon. While Ra'Vak dove for cover, Varkon simply charged, Breen polaron weapons glancing off like rain. The first Breen took the Brikar's fist to the face, caving his skull in and sending the dead Breen flying into his two comrades, knocking them over.
Varkon didn't wait for them to recover, the second Breen aimed his weapon at varkon, when varkon simply grabbed the Breen's arm and tore it completely off, the third tried to push the dead body off of him, when varkon brought his foot down on the Breen's face, crushing his skull like an eggshell.
Ra'Vak looked out from his hiding place, saying, "Well, I'm glad you are on our side," as he went over to an arms locker, pulled out two phaser rifles, and tossed one to Varkon.
Varkon looked at Ra'Vak, "Yeah, you might as well zeroise the engineering computers as well, no telling how many of them there are."
"On it," Ra'vak went over to the engineering command console and began typing in commands.
Meanwhile, in sickbay, Siaxx and a few of her people found themselves dealing with a few Breen who tried to interrupt the medical aid of a dozen or so crew as the small Bolian threw her tricorder at a Breen, it was meant as a distraction as she dove through the door to her office.
The Gorn grinned as he snatched off one of their arms and then he used it to smash in a second Breen's head casing with one swift blow.
He watched as a phaser blast shot past him, slamming into a Breen. Siaxx emerged from her office with a phaser in one hand and a Klingon Mek'leth in the other. "Chief. catch." and with that she tossed the Mek'leth over to the Gorn.
Toshnarr stepped forward as he swiftly dismembered the first Breen and then he threw the blade as it embedded itself in the last Breen's back.
Siaxx went over as she yanked the blade out of the Breen. "Nice.."
Windspirit walked over, phaser rifle in hand, saying," Great, now we have this being added to our problems.
Siaxx sighed. "Yep.." she gently slid her sidearm onto her belt. "I must go, once I leave... barricade this place shut and don't let anyone in.... not even me."
Meanwhile, Teval handed Fordring a phaser rifle, while Aerin and Karryn both grabbed one as well, Aerin then commented as he looked at the sensor console before it died, "Damn, we have a breen destroyer approaching."
Teval asked, "Can we take it out."
Aerin shook his head, "No, our weapons and shields are inoperable."
Teval Gave the matter some thought, then asked," How many of those new heavy quantum's will be needed to destroy that Breen ship."
Aerin shrugged, "Not many, but we have no way to launch them."
Teval shook his head, "No, we do, the scorpions, how many have you modified to carry them."
Aerin immediately caught on, "six, and each one can carry four heavy quantum's. Only problem is, we only have enough people to fly two."
"Will eight heavy quantum's do."
Aerin shrugged," It should, but probably not with their shields up, what's your plan."
Teval grinned, "We set up a dampening field around the hangar bay, so they don't detect the fighters powering up. We ease them slowly out of the bay, just enough to get a clear shot, then open up on the breen ship. Also, we can use the delta flyers transporters to beam a warhead into the breen ships shield generator, that way, we make sure their shields are down, they probably have their shields down now anyway, to operate their transporters."
Aerin nodded," Well its our best shot I guess."
Fordring nodded. "Let's do this!"
Siaxx stepped out of sickbay and went down the hall, her thoughts went through her mind as her life passed across her eyes. "I'll never get to have my own children..." she reached down and yanked the cover off of the nearby Jefferies tubes, tears streaming down her face, she then turned and she pulled the cover back on right before two Breen came around the corner.
Inside could be heard the sounds of a woman who felt her life was coming to an end. "I'm gonna fucking kill you all." she whimpered.
Three more Breen rounded the corner into engineering, stepping over a dozen crushed, broken bodies of their previous comrades, only to have a massive Brikar grab one by the head, smash the Breen into a second hard enough to kill both. The third Breen found himself grabbed by the foot, and Varkon heaved the Breen up in the air, smashed him in the ground near his left foot, picked him up again, smashed him three times into the ground on his right, then threw him into the ground on his left again.
"Nice," Ra'Vak commented as he finished zeroising the computer.
"Puny Breen," Varkon commented casually.
"And we are done," Ra'Vak commented with a look of triumph, before he could say anything else a loud whooshing sound could be heard and a lot of banging.
"What was that," Varkon asked."
Ra'Vak looked behind him, and noticed that the warp core was missing. he peered down the hole where it used to be, and only saw the closed ejection hatch at the bottom of the shaft, "Well, Deadman's switch works."
He then could hear more clanking noises and Varkon asked, "Whats that noise."
Ra'Vak shrugged," Oh, probably all the antimatter pods ejecting all at once."
The door opened as Siaxx Dvald entered Engineering. "Well... my goodness... the man who did this was a professional." she looked at Varkon. "Remind me to never piss you off big guy." she commented as the door opened.
She watched three more Breen charge in before she drilled one of them with her phaser, before she hurled a shard of metal which lodged fast in the third Breen's throat, she moved forward as she snatched it out of his throat, letting loose a small fountain of blood which coated her hand, arm and chest with dark blue blood.
"She's unstoppable..." as the third Breen jumped in fright and went to run away but Varkon got to him first.
Varkon grabbed the Breen's head with one hand, his body with the other, and pulled, hard. The Breen's body resisted only for a second, before its head and part of its spine pulled free from the rest of its body. Varkon dropped the body, and held the head in his hand, saying calmly," These Breen do not learn do they.?" He then looked at Siaxx, saying," So what brings you down here."
Siaxx looked enraged. "I have orders to self-destruct the ship...." she responded, phaser in hand. "I'm going to make the Breen pay by atomizing them."
Ra'Vak, having heard what Siaxx said commented," Well, normally I would say that you are jumping the gun on the matter, but this time I just have to say, I wish you luck in the matter." He pointed to the spot where the warp core was supposed to be.
Siaxx looked out at the massive empty space. "Well... so we have no way to self-destruct the ship?" the Bolian inquired.
Ra'Vak nodded," Yeah, all the antimatter pods are gone too, and the charges normally used for self destruct, well, we cant activate them with no working computer core."
Siaxx slowly smiled, right before she leapt into his arms, throwing her arms around him, before planting a big kiss on his lips. "Mmm... thank you." and with that she turned and made her way out of Engineering. "Come out... come out... Wherever you are..." her mad cackle could be heard down the hallway. "I'm gonna tear out your intestines and wear them like a fucking necklace!"
Ra'Vak blinked in utter confusion, his brain not really processing what happened, when another breen dumb enough to round the corner, encountered Varkon tearing his arm out and beating the Breen to death with his own arm.
