Mission: Mission 17: The Drug-Dimmed Tide
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1200Hrs - December 18th, 2390

Karryn hadn't been having a good past two days. This morning she woke up with a lot of lower back pain and what felt like a fever and nasty form of nausea. Not really being good at self diagnosis, She wanted to get it taken care of, since she had a lot of do over the next few days. Walking to sickbay, she found the first medical officer she could find, which was Lieutenant JG Sokanon," Hey, doc, I kinda feel like crap, do you think you can check it out for me."

"Certainly." the Caitian mewled. "Have a seat and let me give you the once over." she commented as she plucked her medkit from where she had left it on the biobed where she had been standing as she was doing paperwork.

Her claws did an oddly soft clinking sound as she ran them over her tricorder, before she opened it. "Let me see..."

Karryn sat down on one of the biobed's, but she was really having a hard time finding a comfortable sort, so she fidgeted a lot.," So whats the issue doc."

"Well... I guess I should say congratulations are in order Chief." she commented with a smile. "You are pregnant.."

Karryn just froze in place, her brain unable to process what what happening, it took a good minute for her to even be able to say," Wha, Huh."

Sokanon nodded. "Indeed.... I can run a blood test to find out who the father is .... if you so desire." she paused. "but we can narrow it down with a little logic..." she picked up a PADD as she began looking over the roster.

Karryn just nodded, her mind still having difficulty processing the news, Though she knew that there where only two male kurokuri on the whole ship. And she also knew that Kurokuri only had a pregnancy period of about 3 months.

Sokanon began flipping through the crew. "Well lets see... you've only got three possible contenders and one of them is female... so shes out." she commented. "this narrows it down to Aerin Ranval or Teval Vakar." she explained.

"Um," Was all karryn could mumble.

"Okay.." and with that Sokanon proceeded to open her medkit. "Lets see.." and with that she proceeded with the test as she regarded the other woman. "and... yep... you are indeed pregnant.." she held out her tricorder. "see... it doesn't lie..."

Karryn looked at the tricorder, and finally managed to say," So uh, crap... Well that explains things, how far along am I."

"Teval is the father." she commented. "and...I can't really tell..." she paused as she scratched her head. "About three weeks of development.."

Karryn looked at her and said," That's not possible, Three weeks ago I was not on the same ship as Teval." Then it occurred to her, Federation doctors would not be familiar with kurokuri," Wait, you know my species has a pregnancy period of three months right."

"Oh.... so it was one week..." Sokanon responded, feeling foolish all of a sudden. "But yes... Teval is the father of your children which is this case... is three..."

Karryn nodded again, "OK, I guess ill have to come in for regular checkups then, you got anything for the nausea though, and the pain."

Sokanon nodded as she looked for some medication. "I have some thing that will help." she commented as she selected some medication. "Lets see..." she loaded a hypo as she gently injected into Karryn. "I expect you back in two weeks for a follow up." she commented.

"Alright," Karryn then left sickbay, to go look for Teval. At first he thought Teval might be up in the tower so that was her first stop. Walking into the tower a few minutes later, he found Hakaya, Aerin, Anastasiya, and Zarloos up there, but not Teval. So she asked," Hey Hakaya, where is Teval at."

Hakaya shrugged," Well he is still serving as acting XO, so I think he might be on the bridge, Why do you ask."

Karryn, still trying to process the information herself, just said it straight forward," Well, he got me pregnant."

Zarloos chuckled. "wow.."

Hakaya, whom was currently holding a drink, dropped it with a loud crash of breaking glass, as she sat there with a blank stare. Aerin just brought his palm to his Face," Karryn, why do you come up with things like this."

Karryn looked at him, saying, " I'm not lying, its true."

Aerin then paused, and then he caught the scent of Karryn's hormones, and knew immediately she wasn't lying," Oh, Damn, how did that happen."

Karryn put her hand to her chin, thinking," Well, i think it happened, when we where both high from the captains cigars burning in the ventilation system."

Hakaya just rolled her eyes, then she got a smile on her face, and started chuckling. She then said," Oh, damn, Teval really went wild. You know he also screwed captain Tane in that incident as well."

Zarloos sighed. "Wow... that guy really gets around..." as he shook his head.

Anastasiya simply shook her head," Damn, the captains hooch must have been some good stuff."

"Yeah tell me about it," Karryn replied, rolling her eyes in annoyance," Yeah, well i am going to go look for teval."

Everyone else in the Tower watched as Karryn left, then Anastasya commented," Well, you little guys are cute as is, but baby kurokuri must be absolutely adorable."

Aerin nodded, "oh yes they are very cute, Now what Karryn didn't mention was that Kurokuri do take 55 years to reach their adult size."

Hakaya simply replied with," Oh, damn."

A few minutes later Karryn went on the bridge, and found Teval was present on the bridge, with Zara and several other bridge crew. Teval was hanging out near the back of the bridge chatting with Alyssa McKinley and John Sheridan, when Karryn approached Teval and said, can I have a word with you for a minute.

Teval nodded," Sure what is it," As they walked to the corner of the bridge.

"Yeah what is it," Teval asked.

"Well," Karryn hesitated, seeing that several people where looking in their direction, but she decided it was unimportant," Well, you remember the Captains cigar incident."

Teval rolled his eyes," How could I forget about that."

"Well," Karryn said Nervously," You, kinda got me pregnant."

Teval suddenly felt like he got hit in the face by Varkon.

Zara's reaction was simply spewing her root beer mid-sip onto the helmsmen.

Sheridan raised an eyebrow. "Well... that's one way to drop the hammer.." he commented with a smile. "I assume that this is not a good event?"

Teval did not know what to react to this news, it took him a minute just to manage to say something," How long till they're born."

Karryn just shrugged," a little less than 3 months."

Teval's head leaned to one side, "Crap."

He could no longer help hit, so he simply went over to the XO's chair and sat down, still trying to recover from the sheer shock. Karryn went over to stand beside him.

"This a bad time to mention I was diagnosed with a bad Klingon STD?" Zara asked sheepishly.

Karryn looked at Zara apprehensively, while Teval just mumbled, "Huh, wha."

"You never realized I scratched my crotch a lot?" Zara frowned again. "That's why... Apparently some Klingon gave it to me."

Teval looked at Zara, not really processing the situation, then it occurred to him, about the visit that Windspirit requested, "Wait, wasn't that itch from you having a reaction to my fur."

"I had several blotches from fucking you, Teval." Zara flinched at that and started taking her vest and shirt off to show him the remnants of those coarse blotches.

"Well, you where the one that left the Hooch in the ventilation system," Karryn shot back.

"I wasn't expecting a stellar engineering staff this go 'round to actually fix the vent," Zara spoke shyly.

Karryn opened her mouth to say something, but then lost her words. She was finally able to muster," Uh, well, there is not much I can say to that, why how bad was the last bunch."

"CEO was lazy and a drunk all the time," Zara spoke with a shrug. "It's par the course on this ship. Mostly get assholes that don't do what you want them to, no matter what methods and approaches you take... So I had to take the backlogged orders when I could."

Karryn facepalmed, saying," OH wow."

Teval then commented, still disoriented," so is there anything else I need to know ."

Karryn put her fingers together nervously," Well, the fact that Kurokuri take 55 years to reach adulthood."

Teval just stared at the floor," Lovely."
