Reunion with an Old Friend

Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0830Hrs, December 7th, 2390

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi had heard about the new counselor and she had been half expecting and half dreading another loon from Starfleet's apparently ample supply of lunatics but she was still surprised with the report that Tressa Brislan was coming aboard.

Torilla reached her destination. PADD in hand, she tapped the door chime as she waited for the response.

"Enter," Tressa said, looking up. She grinned at her tall friend and gave her a warm hug in greeting.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. but I need you to go to work quick.." and with that she handed the smaller woman the PADD in her hands. "I need you to do a full physiological workup on Phoenix, she got into a fight with a Cardassian officer and needless to say... it didn't go well for either.." she explained. "I'll look after these two...." and with that she paused. "I also have a second assignment for you, one specifically tailored to you alone... I need you to talk to Rachael..." she sighed softly. "She is having trouble coming to terms with her situation."

The doctor read the PADD for a moment, then turned back to Torilla. "I will see Phoenix right away. What is wrong with Rachael?" she asked, worry crossing her face.

"Rachael is pregnant.." Torilla said quietly. "Paul Harrison is the father."

"Ah, I see..." Tressa said softly. "This just happened?"

Torilla nodded her head. "Yes... just happened.. "

"Does Paul know?"

"I'm leaving that for Rachel to deal with but.... I doubt it..." she responded. "Rachael might not wish to tell him... it'll serve as a distraction and she knows that asking him to be loyal to this for years before they ever see each other again is a foolish hope.."

"The kids are in my office now, they have some crafts that they insisted should be where I can enjoy them every day," Tressa said with a wry smile. "Can Rachael meet me there? Xav and Kaylee can finish decorating their rooms at home."

Torilla chuckled softly. "I bet the kids will be overjoyed to see Rachael again... she's been about six kinds of miserable.." the older woman explained. "Also... Fives is here and so is Siaxx.. Phoenix is around.. but she's the problem child lately."

"Fives..." Tressa said, her eyes distant. She turned her gaze back to Torilla. "Phoenix is... complicated. She is passionate and loving, if not sure how to express her feelings," she added. "I've always been drawn to her."

Torilla regarded her old friend, feeling grateful that she was even here for her to talk to. "At least talk to Fives.... before he escapes forever and I doubt he knows you're here." the larger woman commented. "Phoenix is getting worse... and if the Captain and I have our way... she won't be left alone.." Torilla stood next to Tressa as she looked out the viewport. "This is turning into an interesting assignment."

"Indeed it is, Torilla," the doctor said as she looked up at her friend. "And it is only just beginning."
