Mission: Mission 68: Unsteady is the Head the Wears the Crown
Location: Council Chambers - Kronos, OMEGA LEONIS
Timeline: 0900Hrs - March 17th, 2392

J'mpok felt secure in his throne as the Yan-Isleth were escorted away bu a half dozen or J'mpok's own bodyguards, while he himself was secure, nobody else was feeling secure however as a private bodyguard loyal to the man and not the posting could be used as a private army and a private security force.

Makar decided that enough of this was enough. "J'mpok. This is intolerable... the Yan-Isleth are loyal to the position of Chancellor."

"Yet they have completly failed in the assassinations of my two predecessors.. one of them who died at the hands of a thousand cuts and the second was crowned with golden metal.. Whoever did these heinous crimes has no Honor General.." J'mpok responded. "Would you prefer I let these failures continue to exist or rather I bring in qualified and expert help from my house guards."

"But that is my point.. They are loyal to you alone...Anyone who wishes the posting will need to deal with them before they get to you."

"Make your point."

"You are not being honorable on the matter." Makar responded lightly. "Do not make me force you to reconsider."

J'mpok leapt to his feet as he drew his dagger. "Then we fight old Makar... and I will teach you the folly of opposing me"

"As you wish... My lord." as Makar drew the mek'leth from his back, the two men began to square off in their rather macabre dance. Makar waited for J'mpok to make his move as the older Klingon lunged at him as Makar swung at him with his blade, he sliced into J'mpok's side but the older Klingon simply caught the dak'tag that fell from his right hand with his left and he stabbed Makar once with it, burying his blade in the younger Klingons chest.

The two dropped to the deck as J'mpok yanked the blade out of Makar's chest, yanking a large gout of blood and viscera with it. Makar dropped to the as he expired as J'mpok clung on.

"Arrggguuuhhhh" J'mpok screamed over the body of his fallen foe. Makar, at least had the guts to face him one on one as a warrior should and he did not need to deal with house Makar as an enemy as they would beat him in a straight up fight, assuming he didn't bring in his special ships and troops to help deal with his enemies.

Makar's body was dragged away and word would soon be sent to his wife and son who was now the new house head.

A short time later as his wound was being tended up by the local doctor. A messenger arrived from House Te'kevek.

The young Klingon stood before the wounded Chancellor as he waited to present his case. "Why do you come before us?"

"Chancellor. I am L'narn, son of Hal'on. I have come to present a request from my lord Te'kevek or the House Te'kevek for ships, troops and weapons to help contain a slave uprising across a dozen worlds."

J'mpok raised an eyebrow as he listened impassively as this was not the first time he had heard this report, it was also not the first time this council had heard this request. "Very well... I will send several squadrons of ships to investigate..." he responded. "Tell your master that the council will help... "

"Yes Chancellor.. By your leave?"

J'mpok indicated the door with a wave of his hand and then he sat down on the throne.
