Personality & Traits

General Overview		Letty is a fiery latina who is often underestimated because of her size. She often thinks about things that aren't on anyone else's radar. Based on this, sometimes Letty is often perceived as having a chip on her shoulder, like she has something to prove.

Personal History		Letty was born to a farmer and nurse on the west coast of North America in Los Angeles, California. Her father was very traditional and kept up the ways of farming, mostly for science and specialty foods that had trouble being replicated correctly. Her mother was a nurse and a lot of Letty's compassion comes from her mother while Letty's fiery side comes from her dad, although both her parents were quite feisty. Letty was the youngest child and her siblings were often protective of her. It wasn't a surprise that she followed her sister into Starfleet. She often oscillated between Intelligence and Security/Tactical. She was eventually selected for Intelligence as her scores and briefing skills were off the charts and her short physique did not lend itself as well on the Security/Tactical obstacle course. After an uneventful posting, Letty was noted as a rising star for her analysis at the Nimitz Intelligence Operations Center (NIOC), focusing on Beta Quadrant Affairs. She remained at this assignment for several years, earning several awards for herself as she noted several issues and concerns along various convoy routes that others didn't catch or just plain ignored. She forced Starfleet command to take greater notice of problems developing which were soon dealt with. However, this caused her relationship with her commanding officer to break down and eventually, to fall apart. Before the issue could come to a head, she stuck in for reassignment citing the concerns she had with her boss. Letty was reassigned to the USS Vanguard as their chief intelligence officer and here she remained for another several years, earning herself a notice from her new commanding officer that her skills had been noted and she would be permitted to serve as best as she saw fit, her skipper asked that she keep him informed of developments before she sent then into command. She agreed and she remained aboard USS Vanguard until the ship was decommissioned in 2390. Letty's next assignment was to the Guardian class, USS New Hampshire where she remained for three tyears, but she watched back to tactical rather then remain in intelligence, citing a need to trust and be able to be trusted, she found that she couldn't do it in intel any longer as people tended to make her life harder then it needed to be.
