Personal History Gustavas Harris Kingsley was born in Fayetville TNM in 2336, the first born child of Alexandra and William Kingsley. He would be joined by brothers James, and Adam, and sisters Marisol and Abigail in the next 10 years. His father was a Starfleet officer who was home in spirts. Alexandra would say it was long enough to get her pregnant and leave again. His mother was a homemaker. Gustavas or “Gus” would be the man of the family his whole life, always watching out for his mother, and younger siblings. The Kingsley’s grew up on a working farm, and Gus would learn the meaning of hard work early on his life. There was no time for Gus to be a child, or goof off. His mother and grandparents would install old southern values and manners in him. His grandfather was not against raising a hand and smacking him if he showed disrespect, especially to women.

Gus went local schools his whole life and was involved in various community activities, including civil war reenactments, which he still does today. Gus was never a very good student, bringing in C's and D's but made up for it in other ways. Gus started dating Jasmine Byers in his 10th grade year. Gus always wanted to join the marine corps, and travel. Plans would almost go array when Jasmine became pregnant at 17. Marriage was never part of Gus's plan, but both his mother and Jasmine's parents insisted. The two were married the month after Gus's high school graduation. Gus would leave for marine basic training two months later. While he was in basic, Jasmine would give birth to Jacob Gustavas Kingsley. Gus would first see his son when he graduated two months later. Jasmine and Jacob would relocate from Tennessee to San Francisco while Gus was in Advanced Training for Counseling. Jasmine would become pregnant again, and give birth to Sean Trenton Kingsley in 2358.

The happiness of the young family would be short lived. After training was complete, Gus would be assigned to a unit near the Romulus border. Gus would send Jasmine, two year old Jacob and 3 month old Sean back to Tennessee. Gus would try to keep in contact with his family, but being on convert missions it would make it difficult. And it would be years before he could even take leave to see his family. This would be hard on Jasmine and she would file divorce in his 3rd year of deployment. Gus didn't fight the divorce, knowing how it was to have a father that was never home. Gus threw himself into his work and his assignment. He would get his first of three SFMC Unit Citations. In his fourth year of his assignment, he got his first leave. He would go home to see his now 6 and 4 year old sons. He would only have a brief two months to get to know his sons, as well as them to get to know him. After he left, he actually cried, something unusual for a Marine. He never realized how much he missed his sons, but knew that he enjoyed being a Marine to much to give it up. Plus Jasmine was engaged to be married. Gus would return for another year in that unit before being reassigned.

In 2362, Gus would be reassigned to a small force of 30 Marines attached to the USS Ulysses. This is where Gus would receive ranger training and get his ranger patch. He would spend four years on the Ulysses, training and going on various missions. In 2365, the unit would be assigned to Cardissia as part of ongoing peace talks between the Federation and the Cardassians. It was during this time that Gus, as counselor, was put to use. He was able to listen to both sides, including victims of the war. Gus would receive his second small citation award during this time. The unit was present when the peace treaty was signed, which earned him a peace citation and a field therapy commendation.

Right after the peace treaty was signed, and the unit was getting ready to transfer out, Wolf 359 would happen. Gus’s unit and others would be assigned to the recovery unit. There would be few survivors to counsel, as Gus would find out. He would also discover that his father died in the battle. He would return to Tennessee, with his other siblings, to bury him in the families burial ground. Though it had been years since Gus had seen or talked to his father, he was able to be a strength for his mother and younger siblings. It also gave him an opportunity to take his sons to there first civil war reenactment and gave him a chance to bond with them. He knew that though there visits were far and few between, so he had to take the time to make it meaningful.

Gus would ask for a transfer in 2367to the Betazed Counseling Facility on Betazed to be able to get more training for his MOS. He would be promoted to Staff Sgt. Getting a formal degree from the Betazed Facility was important to him, and he wanted to do well, something he could tell his sons and show them that was trying and it was never to late to learn. He asked for and received a tutor. Amaria Davis was a full Betazed, who was in her 2nd year of medical also taking counseling classes. Gus who was 29, was immediately attracted to the 23 year old. And the feeling was mutual. The two would start a relationship, and the following year at Christmas, he would take Amaria to Tennessee to meet his now 11 and 9 year old sons. And in a small ceremony in his families house, he was married to Amaria, with his sons standing witness. When Amaria and Gus returned to Betazed, they had a traditional Betazed ceremony. The following year, on Christmas day Sierra Grace Kingsley was born. Gus would ask and receive a transfer to the Betazed Protection Force.

In 2370, Gus’s youngest brother Adam came to visit with his fiancée, Ashton Talbert. The two had met on journalistic school, and became engaged. In Southern tradition, Gus was now the ‘patriarch’ of the family and it fell to him to host the wedding. He would be Adam’s best man, while Ashton’s older sister, Brett, would be her maid of honor. The marriage would be held late in the fall in Tennessee, and Amaria would be 5 months pregnant with there second child. Gus couldn’t have realized that when he met Brett Talbert at the wedding of there siblings, she would one day be his Captain. In 2371, Haylee Anne Kingsley was born, followed a year later by brother Roman Nathan Kingsley.

When Roman was 3 months old, Gus would be transferred to the Klingon Neutral Zone after the Klingons invaded the Cardissian Empire. Gus would hate to leave his family, knowing it had signaled the end of his last marriage. But he knew that Amaria and him had a stronger bond then he ever did with Jasmine. He would be able to visit his family more often then he ever did as a lower ranked Marine. On his last visit to Betazed, Amaria would tell him about fears that some people had that the Dominion was going to invade Betazed. He reassured her they were just rumors, but he had heard them himself. He asked for a transfer and received it with a promotion to Master Sgt. Unfortunately , the rumors about invasion were true. When the Dominion attacked, Gus was away from his family, and with other marines in his unit on patrol. The marines would put up a fight to protect Betazed, and it would earn them the Medal of Courage Under Fire award and the 3rd small unit citation. Fifteen of the twenty five member force of his unit would be killed, the other ten would be captured and became POW’s. Gus would not know the status of the his family while he was a POW. Gus would try to attempt twice, on the second attempt, his leg would be broken to thwart any other attempt of escaping. It would be eight months before him and the others were released. He would discover that Amaria had been killed, and Haylee had died of starvation. Sierra and Roman were both alive but scared. Gus would take a LOA and take the children back to Tennessee. He would go through reabilitation for his leg, but still walks with a limp. He would also go through counseling and would put the kids through counseling. He would return to duty, but as head of training new counselors in the Marine corps. It allowed him to work but keep the children near and be a father to them. He would also become closer to his other two sons, now twenty one and nineteen.

In 2381, Gus got word that his mother was ill and he decided that it was the perfect time to retire from the Marines after 21 years of service. He would move back to the farm, with Sierra and Roman. Both children would thrive being outside again, and working on the farm. Gus’s mother would die at the end of the year, and would be buried with her husband in the family graveyard. His oldest son married and made him a grandfather in the past 4 months. Gus would spend two years in retirement before deciding he wanted to go back. But, this time he would transfer to Starfleet and become a Master Chief. He would be assigned to the USS Victory.
He would remain here for two years before getting word that he was being reassigned. He would also pick up a warrant rank here as well, Chief Warrant Officer

His next assignment was to Starbase 12 and it was here he would remain. Two years after getting assigned here, he was promoted to Command Warrant Officer, all of this before he was reassigned to the USS Valhalla as the Command Chief for the 92nd Fleet, he would go back to being enlisted for this posting.
