| Personal History | Sarah was born at Starfleet Medical while Ennis was undergoing his medical training on Earth. It was this event that caused his wife's issues to become diagnosed and while it was progressive, it was incurable. Olivia began to grow less concerned about anything long term and she wanted to live for the moment, but she always made sure that her children would be prepared for when she departed this existence. Her second child named Daniel was something of an Oops baby but neither she nor Ennis would ever admit to this. Sarah watched her mother wither away as her body first failed her and then later it outright betrayed her. Eventually, her mother would pass on, leaving Sarah alone with her father and her younger brother. Sarah found that she had to be brave and mature which was a constant running thread throughout her young life. Her father had issues with coping with his wife's loss and while he always made time for his children. Sarah had to deal with many of her own issues alone. She grew up looking after her younger brother and the challenges she faced would sculpt her attitudes and her through processes. She would think less of herself and more of her father and brother. What helped her was when her father met someone new. A woman named Rachael Yamaguchi who was able to help her father overcome his last hurdles and move on from the passing of her mother. What helped was that Sarah also formed a friendship with Saki Yamaguchi. Rachael's daughter. the two would try to make friends in a school of hard knocks, stealing replicator rations to buy friendship and protection. All of her efforts was to simply get through a day in the local cesspool of a school which her efforts of course came to nought as Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi along with Colonel Jillian Sullivan uncovered the real story and in the ensuing melee, Elizabeth was assaulted by one of the kids who hit her with a baseball bat. This started a chain of events that would take months to sort out and time and distance were of little help. Saki went over and strangled the boy to within an inch of his life, she also beat the ever-living daylights out of three others who were beating on her friend, Sarah Cullen. The child who would later become her sibling, thanks to Rachael's mother dating Sarah's father. Lieutenant Bernice Gyce pulled Sarah out of school with her mother's blessing. Sarah along with a few others was homeschooled for several months while the ships school system was cleaned out and new teachers were hired. To add to Sarah's misery, most of her family were displeased with her for various reasons but mostly because she didn't tell them outright what was going on. Sarah was able to bond with Saki who was missing her mother. Whom she was very close to as Rachael was off with her boot camp work. It was the first major separation between mother and child. Sarah was able to help her new sibling cope with the separation. Sarah had since grown close to Rachael Yamaguchi and Bernice Gyce as a result of this. It also helped that she developed a friendship with Torilla Yamaguchi. The woman who would become her grandmother on her step-mother's side. However more recently, both of Sarah's parents went off to war and her home was lost in the battle over Goranar. Sarah had to adjust to more changes and before long both parents were assigned to Starbase Vanguard in various assignments. Sarah and her siblings went along with them. Sarah spent time living with both her parents on the Ournal III Class Starbase designated as Vanguard, however, she and her family live on the planet Utgarde Four, rather than on the base itself. Ennis Cullen was offered an assignment as Chief medical officer of the USS Heart of the Tiger and Sarah, along with all of the other children in her household went with him. Rachael was forced to remain behind, due to the demands of her assignment and work, there was simply no posting for her to go to, so Sarah once more, is the eldest female present, like before. Only now she has four siblings rather than one to handle. Several months later. Rachael was awarded her rightful rank and her awards due to her heroics over Goranar. She was also offered the posting as Chief of Conn on the USS Heart of the Tiger, reuniting Sarah's parents under one roof. |
