Physical Description T’Sari is a tall woman, but as austere as any Vulcan. Her hair is black, worn short and simple for practicality’s sake. Cold blue eyes sometimes indicate signs of repressed anger or a sense of superiority, though this is usually a mistaken impression from observers. Although her features are severe and well-chiseled, a faint scar from an accident years past has subtly tugged the left side of her mouth into a small, perpetual wry smirk. This can give everything she says, even though her voice sounds as level as any Vulcan’s, a hint of inadvertent sarcasm to an emotional observer.

Personality & Traits

General Overview T’Sari is a seasoned Starfleet officer and an experienced starship commander. A Vulcan who is predominantly accustomed to serving alongside other Vulcans, she still works hard to maintain an effective professional relationship with those under her command. T’Sari is a well-regarded diplomat and scientist, though she does bear the military experience of the Dominion War.

Personal History Born on Vulcan, T’Sari had the upbringing of any youth of her species, given a good education and encouraged towards excellence. She was exposed from an early age to Vulcan philosophy, which she embraced without difficulty. Studying the sciences as a child, she quickly eschewed an interest in physics or botany and developed an interest in anthropology.

Tackling her interest in alien races as a scientist, her assessment of them was entirely academic; at no point did T’Sari demonstrate any inclination that their different ways were anything she would embrace. She attended the Vulcan Science Institute to further her learning in anthropology and archaeology, passing with expected excellence and went on to attend Starfleet Academy.

There she trained as an A&A officer, a role she served in for almost ten years on different assignments. First posted on a mission of exploration, T’Sari developed hands-on experience at studying and evaluating alien races, living and past. She experienced the first contact with several different species and demonstrated a knack for diplomacy by being able to intellectually understand their emotional attitudes, even if she could not sympathize with them.

T’Sari demonstrated talents in command when she moved up to department management, though with the patience of a Vulcan and the interest of a scientist she did not pursue this avenue of her career for another fifteen years. Starfleet continued to urge her to move into a command role, and continuously T’Sari decided not to. Most were bemused when she all of a sudden, in the mid-60s, accepted a promotion to Commander and an assignment to the USS Sarek. For T’Sari, it was simply the logical time in her career for such a transition.

Serving on an all-Vulcan ship, she was comfortable with the few changes to personnel for many years. The change came in 2372 and the outbreak of the Klingon-Federation War. In one of the opening conflicts, the Sarek’s captain was killed, and T’Sari assumed command. Starfleet would formalize this within weeks with a promotion to Captain.

She continued to serve as the commanding officer of the Sarek through the rest of the war, only to then find herself in the midst of the conflict with the Dominion. Although T’Sari demonstrated herself as able and capable in military circumstances, when the war ended she put in her first specific request for reassignment; this time to a scientific mission.

T’Sari was assigned to the newly-commissioned USS Tar’Hana and spent the bulk of the next ten years on scientific expeditions along the border with the Klingon Empire. The crew was all-Vulcan, and it seemed she was set to settle in this assignment for the rest of her career. An engineering error would bring the Tar’Hana’s mission to an unexpected halt as a warp core overload was barely averted, and the ship had to be drydocked.

Although T’Sari expressed an interest in remaining with her ship when she returned to active duty, no temporary assignments were found - and instead, with her varied command experience to justify it, Command posted her to a mixed-race ship on a mission to the Taurus Reach. Despite her disapproval, T’Sari did not break her habit of never issuing a complaint and took the assignment.
