| General Overview | Many would describe a man like Forion Sorel as arrogant and he probably is to a degree. He is a young, fairly well read officer with little patience for incompetence and gun-ho officers (especially superior). In most situations Forion will think before he shoots, but like many in extreme stressful situations, his decision making ability can become compromised. He has few fears and less friends, the way he sees it; security team eight now comes first and he must lead from the front and inspire those below him even if they might not like what he asks of them to do. | Personal History | The story of his early life is quite uneventful in terms of melodrama. Forion Sorel was born in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, Earth. He is raised by loving parents and advances through primary school and secondary school with little difficulties other then maths. Pastimes include boxing and football. Following high school he would have liked to become an officer but Sorel was terrible at maths and therefore couldn’t pass the Starfleet Academy entrance exam. Instead he travels around a year serving onboard the SS Chelsea a small modern composite freighter running the Earth to Qu’noS route. Not much happened that year and Sorel found it quite boring. Deciding he needed to escape the routine of the past year, Sorel enlisted in the fleet and was sent to Starfleet Basic Training for six months on Mars. He enlists a security officer wanting to escape operations and be challenged by something he isn’t all that familiar with. Sorel wasn’t a star recruit at basic, but did pick up most things with ease; phaser rifles, phasers, tunning, climbing, EVA and zero-G movement came naturally to him. He had no real trouble learning starships operations such as; communications, LCARS operation, and scanners as he’d already served on a starship for a year prior to joining Starfleet. Out of all the classes it was Starfleet Hand to Hand combat where he really shined. Following completion of basic training, he was sent to Starfleet Security School for six weeks to undergo department specialization training. Security School wasn’t too difficult, ca few courses on rules and regulations, more Hand to Hand combat classes, instruction on driving the Argo Buggy and the use of its Type-IV Phaser Canon. Completing these he was assigned to his first ship, the USS Brandenburg. The Brandenburg is an interesting assignment and he learns plenty, especially on dealing with people, something he’d struggled with in the past. The Security Chief of the Brandenburg although believes in Sorel and pushes him to excel, even thought Sorel himself would have been happier to sit back and take it easy. But during a training exercise on Vulcan, he is severely injured in a shuttle crash. Rather then take leave or retire; he simply transfers to operations where he is subsequently promoted to Crewmen, First Class. He spends the next two years serving as an operations officer recovering from his wounds, more so psychological then physical. When the threat of the Kelvans appeared he was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class to accommodate for the surge in Starfleet personnel. Instead of staying in operations though he returned to security and found himself onboard the USS Alexandria. At the Battle of Midway Station he was lucky to not be one of the twenty seven security officers killed when the security section of the Alexandria took a direct hit. After taking on repairs, the Alexandria returned to Earth and Sorel spent two weeks leave back home at his families cattle ranch in South America. His life changed dramatically when Captain Ernesto Davoust of the Alexandria ordered a boarding action against the Kelvan Battlecruiser “Melissa”. Petty Officer Third Class Sorel was to be part of the Command Centre assault group, but instead was beamed to the wrong location and found himself almost killed by a Kelvan before his life was saved by Orville Diaz. The two security crewmen had a series of mishaps and adventures before incidentally getting roped into the attack on the Shield Generator and subsequent operations to secure that area of the starship. Wounded numerous times during the boarding action, he kept himself going by injecting himself with a dangerous cocktail of Masiform-D, Sterlite, Melenx, Coagulants, Anesthetises and Antibiotics. At various points during the fighting he was so high on this cocktail that he felt neither pain nor fear as he and his ad-hoc team cleared room after room of Kelvans. The boarding action ended for Sorel when surprised by a full sized Kelvan he was knocked unconscious. He would have died had it not been for those he was leading at the time, who somehow managed to rescue him and bring him back to the Alexandria for treatment. Back on the Alexandria; Sorel was treated for plasma blast wounds to his left thigh, lower right shoulder, upper right shoulder, right cheek, left leg and left foot. As well several minor scraps and a shrapnel wound to his left shoulder. He received the nickname; Patches. (Usually reserved for canines) for taking so many wounds. Several months after the events on the “Melissa” he was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class and transferred to the USS Kersaint. Sorel now leads his own Security Team Eight… On the Kersaint's shakedown cruise the starship was boarded by an unknown mercenary group. Caught off duty and separated from his security team, Forion was forced to kill his first human in unarmed combat. The experience severely shocked him and he once again injected himself with Masiform-D to get himself back into action. Back on his feet he commanded the defence of engineering and then cleared deck fifteen of mercenaries. Following the boarding of the Kersaint, Forion was reunited with his security team members only to learn that Crewmen 1st Class Darla Vera Lott had been killed on deck two. He took the news hard and served from depression for sometime afters. Later as a result of his depression he had an affair with Petty Officer 3rd Class Telev Driant a security team eight member and she subsequently transferred back to Andoria. To get off the starship for sometime he applied for a six week Starfleet Advanced Tactical training course with his remaining security team eight member and close friend Orville Diaz working together like always they both successfully passed the course and returned to the Kersaint in mid-2384. Forion continued serve on board the USS Kersaint, and stayed on to guard the ship went she went in for her long term refit. He participated on an away mission to Ararat and was involved in the capture of Knight of the White Gloves organization . In mid-2386 he and Security Team Eight were sent to Shoseshi Kujael System to apprehend Lieutenant Junior Carmelo Morris, a Starfleet security officer and formed crew member of the USS Kersaint who'd defected to the Titan Order in 2384 and set up shop on Shoseshi Kujael Three. Although the team manged to infiltrate Morris' hideout, Forion was shot in his left shoulder and had his right shoulder incapacitated by a knife by Lieutenant Morris. Lieutenant Morris then went onto kill three members of security team eight, Crewmen Julianus, Forlan and Shimazu. Petty Officer Third Class Orville Diaz was captured and sent to Gatos a Orion Syndicate leader who had a long standing fued with the Starfleet non-comissioned officer. Fortunately for Forion he was rescued by Captain Kylar of the IKS Tapar, who took him to the Stangorian colony of Al'Klei'sh to receive medical treatment. Although the mission to capture Lieutenant Morris had failed, Forion would not let the matter go and instead managed to convince Captain Kylar of the IKS Tapar to join him on a rescue mission. They discovered the whereabouts of Gatos and boarded his ship, Petty Officer Orville Diaz was rescued and Forion returned to Neptune Station where the Kersaint was undergoing repairs. As a result of his efforts, he was awarded a commission as a Provisional Lieutenant, having shown an ability to see through his orders no matter what circumstances were thrown in front of him. He remained on the Kersaint for several more years before being offered the chance to ascend to the rank of Chief Petty Officer as the senior security petty officer while assigned to the Daedalus. He would serve here but his greatest trial would be on the USS Courageous. After the destruction of the Courageous, he was reassigned to become the Chief of the Boat on the USS Prinz Eugen. He accepted and off he went to his new posting. |
