| Personal History | Rtas "Halfjaw" 'Vadum was born in Vadam's keep in the Earth year of 2365. as the son of the lord of the keep, this would place high expectations for his military career and he would meet them all without hesitation and without Mercy. Rtas "Halfjaw" 'Vadum is one of the youngest of his clan to attain the rank swordmaster, elevating his skills in the martial arts as he has made it an art-form. This has granted him the right to mate with any of the females coming into the clan and he has selected to mate with two of them. Having children with both. When he finished coming of age and before he had his children, he went off to join the Federation as the Shangheili were new members and were eager to share their values and their ways with the rest of the galaxy, several dozen went off to join Starfleet all at once and while the Federations ways were similer they were in fact very different. His time at the academy was instructive and he took to his workload with gusto and with passion, impressing many of his instructors with his martial prowess many times. He graduated with honors before being given the assignment of his choice. He selected the USS Shadow of Intent and he served here for several years, further honing his skills as well as getting to know his shipmates, many of them came to see him as the protector he was meant to be. While assigned here he earned a great deal of respect and he also showcased a lot of tolerance even then two Ensigns began taunting him. Rather then killing them, he decided to take them through a Shangheili assault course, both men failed miserably but they attained a new respect for their Sangheili crewmate when he aced the course the first time. Rtas Vadum earned the nickname of Halfjaw around this time after losing two of his mandibles in a training accident with one of his siblings and in late 2391, he was offered the chance to come work on a Fleet carrier and he accepted, thus being posted to the USS Roanoke. His Service here is just starting, alas it would not last long as he was here less then two months before he was offered the chance to become Chief of his own department on a brand new ship, feeling he could handle it he accepted the posting and off he went to the Manticore. |
