| Personal History | Shwren sh'Ann'Weri was born in May of 2342 on one of Andoria's main colony worlds rather then the main homeworld itself, her family was a rather unusual collection of people who believed that one had to expand in order to survive, even if it meant leaving home and hearth to do so. After having three children and four miscarriages, thanks to the Andorian reproductive issues that had been plaguing them for centuries now. The parents of Shwren were able to turn themselves fully to the upbringing of their children. As a result, Shwren Sh'Ann'Weri was raised as a happy and much-loved child. Shwren came of age in a civilian world, as far from Starfleet as her parents could make things, however, something went catastrophically wrong with the world they came to call home. The world had taken a direct hit from a comet strike and now death and destruction loomed. Starfleet was needed so the colony called for help. The USS Ascension, an older Excelsior class ship, on routine patrol in the area, answered the distress call of the colony and while they were unable to prevent the impact, the Starfleet personnel were able to save the colony by relocating the settlers on this world to another world in the same system. The process was quick and painless but the world had to be abandoned. The settlers didn't like that and so they vowed that they would terraform the lost world back so it could become habitable again. The crew of the USS Ascension said that they would assist the settlers. While Nebris Three was a loss, the second colony on Nebris Four would flourish and the crew of the USS Ascension remained present in the system for the next several months to chart the system, finding the issues and dealing with them. Then Ascension's crew proceeded to work with the settlements, tending to their needs and wants at the same time. Shwren was deeply touched by the actions of the Starfleet ship and the personnel assigned to her, they had given up much to tend to her small colony, while she had an education and one child already, she decided that she could finish having her children with her bondgroup first then she would honor Starfleet's efforts for her by joining Starfleet in return. Once she had finished her second pregnancy, Shwren went off to the academy and her time here was deeply educational for her and the woman she would become. Her first assignment was to the USS Gandhi with several other academy graduates, she didn't get her first choice which was the USS Lexington, a Nebula-class starship that her entire graduating class was hoping to get assigned to. For the first two years of her service in Starfleet. Shwren carried on with her duties as was expected of her, all of this changed after the mission to perform a terraforming mission in the Legana sector. In this year, Lieutenant Thomas Riker was assigned to the Gandhi following his recovery from Nervala IV. He became something of a minor celebrity to the crew. Shwren was fascinated by Riker and what he had gone through. What she didn't know was the Executive officer of the USS Gandhi had been manipulating him ever since he joined the ship's crew as various people had assumed he would have served the Maquis cause very well. However, Megan Halifax had overplayed her hand as Thomas Riker grew to actively resent her and thus, many of the crew sided with him in the dispute that was brewing. In early 2370, during an assignment which saw Tom Riker end up joining the Maquis as he wished to seek answers for what the Obsidian Order was doing on the Orias system, Starfleet couldn't do anything about it but the Maquis could. Shwren went back to the Gandhi, devastated and heartbroken. The Andorian Shen then demanded reassignment from Captain Azon Lexen, who while unhappy that his chief of security was leaving, had little choice but to approve her request when she told him the reason why. Shwren had felt that the issue between Commander Halifax and Lieutenant Riker had been permitted to get out of hand. It was a damning accusation so Lexen now had no option to avoid it any longer, he looked into the matter and when the truth came out, it was enough to forcibly end any working relationship between Halifax and Lexen. Meanwhile. Shwren was now settling into life on Starbase Two Eleven and here she would remain as part of the Starbase security detachment, rising to command it after over a dozen years being assigned here. What she did not expect was in mid-2374, she was reunited with Lieutenant Thomas Riker after he and several hundred others had been recovered by the crew of the USS Courageous. When it was revealed that Tom Riker wished to return to Starfleet and that he was able to do so. Shwren was able to start to let go of the ghosts of her past and she began to assist Tom Riker with the same ghosts. His were much stronger than hers but she made the effort all the same. Tom Riker ended up having three children with a human woman named Caroline Restin but she couldn't handle the fact that Tom's heart belonged to another so she ended up leaving him and their three children to be raised by Tom and Wren. Today, the two remain together while assigned to Starbase Vanguard, all five of their children are now adults and of those, four went into Starfleet in an effort to follow their parents whereas the fifth settled on Utgarde Four to assist with the building of the city on the planet. He's commanding a Wing of Destroyers while she is commanding the bases security personnel. |
