| Personal History | Commander Katrina Jones was born in 2362, on the colony world of Ballast. This was a darker world considering it was much further out in the habitable zone from its host star then Earth is in relation to its sun. He grew up as a happy child but her parents were a bit on the controlling side so she was never permitted to wander too far or go too fast, when she didn't do what they wanted, the punished her quite severely, but then her parents had a lot of children of which she was number three out of several children. It was a lot to keep track of at times but then considering her father was a Chef and her mother was a civilian weather forecaster, it made for some challenges for everyone considered. Katrina Jones came of age while living on Ballast and she decided she was going off to join Starfleet so she applied, was accepted and went off to the academy in 2379. Her time at the academy was highly educational and she learned a great deal, finding a spot for herself, she resolved never to fail and never to let anyone else down. It was in hindsight a foolish choice to make a choice like this but she pushed herself to the absolute limit before she burnt herself out, even doing extra work and extra assignments. She graduated with honors and was assigned to the USS Belfast under the command of Commander Martz, an Andorian who had a reputation for policing the space ways and taking no nonsense from anyone, he also taught her a great deal about how to do her work and she turned into a younger version of him. She was promoted and then transferred across to the USS Kingston, her new skipper was much more laid back and not quite so uptight as he set about helping the young woman under his command find ways to relax and calm down as she was so wound up, she might snap if pushed too far. She remained here assigned to the USS Kingston for the better part of two years before going over to the USS Hyperion, an Akira class ship what was quite new, her new skipper here continued what her last skipper had done, help this young woman calm down and enjoy her assignment before she went to wherever it was she was heading next, she also displayed skills in command which came to the forefront numerous times. His Exec wasn't prepared or ready to move on so Captain Donaldson recommend Jones for her own command, this was what got her the USS Akatsuki, a Merin class destroyer that she is apparently getting to like a great deal, while the ship is small. it's hers and hers alone. Today, Commander Jones retains command of the Akatsuki and she's relishing being her own boss but she'd like to move up to commanding a larger ship of the line. In early 2393, her request, however, was granted and she was reassigned to command the USS Tranquility. |
