| Personal History | Donovan Raphael Garibaldi was born to a family of salvage technicians on Kroloss II. While he learned a lot about space vessel parts the family business wasn't for him. He applied for and got into Star Fleet Academy. During his time as a cadet he was good at technical studies but struggled with academics. He enjoyed combat and was assigned to the Marines. After graduation and infantry school he was assigned to the USS Dieppe. The Dieppe was attacked early on in the Dominion War. The ship was boarded several times and repelled every time. Garibaldi led several counterattacks. In the end, the Dieppe was crippled and had to be abandoned. Garibaldi and several other Star Fleet personnel were caught in their escape pods. Garibaldi and the other prisoners were brought to Chov'ghul, a Cardassian prison world. There, they were beaten for sport and tortured by the Cardassian and Jem'Hadar guards. A team of Vorta scientists tried to graft an implant on Garibaldi's left eye. The implant didn't take and left a permanent scar. Later, Garibaldi led an escape in a Cardassian runabout. They barely escaped and where picked up by Klingon scouts. He spent the next several months recovering. Garibaldi eventually took comand of another platoon in time for the final assault of Cardssia Prime. |
