| Personal History | Edward Tuck was the youngest of four siblings, born in 2339 so he grew up being somewhat babied by them and his folks. but he had a restively decent childhood and teenaged life while living on the world of Mars, while the place wasn't the most idyllic, he learned a great deal; about how the Federation worked before he enlisted in Starfleet as a Security Officer at age twenty. He served across a half a dozen ships before Starfleet Intelligence took note of his skills in the early twenty-three seventies, this would have a disastrous effect on his life and his outlook on life itself. Tuck was quickly recruited by Starfleet Intelligence to work for them in signals analysis. Had he known why or what was coming, he would have said no. It was Tuck who discovered the plans for the Breen to attack a Federation world and in echoes of Coventry, he reported the mission plans to his superiors who in turn did nothing and let New Bangkok become obliterated. He realized that his superiors were weak and spineless so he decided to go to his section head and go to Admiral Ross when he learned of the Dominion Plan to attack into the Kalandra sector again. This lead to the Operation that liberated much of the Kalandra sector by the end of the war which Tuck was quietly given credit for but he made an enemy of one Commander Amanda Forger. Tuck since earned several promotions as he spent his career on several starbases's but Rear Admiral Amanda Forger final had her chance at revenge and she took it by slipping some bad intelligence which Tuck reported on. He was outed as someone who gave bad intelligence, as Nechayev removed his security clearance and he was demoted to Lieutenant JG in violation of the regs, the only job open to him left was in therapy so he was posted to the USS Roanoke as a counselor, despite he was not qualified for it. His time serving on the Roanoke has been somewhat uneventful and dull, until the beating of Elizabeth Yamaguchi at the hands of Tienn Iteela. Tuck interviewed Tienn Iteela a few times as she insisted she could not recall what set her off but she had a suspicion, however, there was no proof, so Tuck requested she submits to a piss test which she did. The lab then processed the results and he was hopeful some answers would be forthcoming. He knew that he would need to share the results with security but he would deal with that when the time came. When the results came back. Tuck wasn't surprised to find out that she had indeed been intoxicated against her will, while he was happy that she had been vindicated with her acquittal however he would remain cautious as it had become knowledge that she was the wrong target of whoever spiked her drink. During the hanger deck fire, he assisted in Engineering with damage control issues but a few days later, he was reassigned back to where he belonged. Signals intelligence under the command of one Vasily Borodin. However this has once again brought him to the attention of Admiral Forger who has demanded that Borodin get rid of him, Borodin has since refused to do so and has demanded that the Admiral stop meddling in the affairs of Intel for IFO. Things between Admiral Forger and Captain Borodin came to a head as Starfleet security was called in and Borodin, able to handle the abuse the Forger was creating, was finally able to deal with her once and for all. Especially after it was revealed that she had been the one to leak the intel to Tuck that had caused his demotion in the first place, this caused her demotion, dismissal from Starfleet and jail time for Forger. Especially considering that she had been directly responsible for the destruction of the New Bejing Colony and the deaths of some half million settlers. For Borodin, it was another day on the job but for Tuck, it was vindication that he was right all along. |
