| Personal History | Nick Erikson was born in 2365 on the colony world of Stapelton Center which orbited Wolf 359 to two scientists who were eager to see what living on a planet so close to its parent star would be like. He grew up across several planets and thus Nick could never truly call one world home so he simply said that his home went with him wherever he went, it was a philosophy which served him well throughout his entire life. While growing up, his parents encouraged him to explore the world on his own, by himself and at his own pace, also they taught him responsibility and respect so he grew up as a happy child. He might not has had much in life but he was happy, with a rich spirit and a head full of what he jokingly referred to as 'useless information.' so it was with a great deal of soul searching that he decided to enlist in the marine corps. He wanted to earn something and make a name for himself, the corps seemed like an excellent place to do it so he went off to the ROTC program with great enthusiasm. He learned what it meant to be a marine very quickly and he graduated, his scores were not at the top and he wasn't at the middle either but he learned a great deal and he learned how to snipe, a talent his instructors did not miss. Nick was trained in the fine art of the sniper, it was something he loved and he also showcased his various skills in various exercises. He graduated and was assigned to the USS Robinson under the command of Captain Benjamin Sisko. Nick served here for five years, developing relationships and friendships with many of the crew aboard including Captain Sisko himself. Nick also showcased how a Marine was supposed to behave, with respect and decency, not the hardheaded mentality that one typically saw. He was offered the chance to go to Engineers school which he accepted, he got top marks so he can handle just about any post offered to him in a company except command of the company then he was posted to the USS Dreamcrusher as one of the Marine Sappers aboard. |
