| Personal History | 1st Lieutenant Ryan 'Paladin' Archer was born in 2365 on the Colony world of Bounty, with its plentiful harvests and lush vegetation, this was a beautiful world with small towns and massive farming spaces. He grew up on a world that was free of war, hate and prejudice which seemed to be very common in the Federation, he missed all of the Federations fights in the seventies however he did watch them with his father and his older siblings while his mother went off to fight as part of the marine corps as Silza had enlisted. She came home a couple of years later, bitter and withdrawn because of the fighting and it took a couple of years for his mother to overcome her rage and issues about the war and in the end she came around after spending time one on one with Ben Archer, he was able to help his wife overcome her issues. Ryan, however, was taught to honor the marines and so he decided to become an officer and not just enlist as some did, he also was taught to believe that officers did work and did not sit around. When he went off to the Marine Academy this attitude and worth ethic stood him in good stead as he earned the respect of his peers quickly when he showed he was willing to do anything and willing to work for it, this earned him the respect of his instructors as well. When he graduated, he was assigned to the USS Nigeria and here he learned everything the academy missed or neglected to teach him, less then six months into this assignment he was promoted because of his attention to detail and his work ethic. He was then transferred over to Starbase 54 which had need of good marine officers to replace their losses due to several missions went wrong. Ryan had begun to earn the call-sign of Paladin as he tended to protect those around her and it was a mandatory counseling session which led him to meet his present girlfriend, a Cardassian woman named Karis Gelon. Their relationship developed slowly and when she was offered Chief Counselor of the USS Alexander the Great. He was the one who convinced her to accept it. He was offered the posting of Marine Detachment Commander on the USS Alexander the Great and he accepted. following his girlfriend over to one of the Sovereign class ships of the line. When the Alexander the Great went in for reassignment to a new Captain and crew because she was re-designated as a Light Cruiser rather than a Heavy Cruiser thanks to the military reorganization act. He and the rest of the crew were reassigned to the Guardian Class. USS Shield of Wolves. Here he remains with his spouse beside him. |
