| Personal History | William Paris was born on the USS Citadel on August 12th, 2345. one of the older Ambassador Class ships and he was the 2nd of two brothers. When he was nine years old, he was visiting a relative on New Izar while someone was firing off an old 20th-century firearm, in this case, an M16. they were hunting and the bullet that nailed William hit him just forward of the temples, it destroyed both eyes and part of his nose, the nose was easily rebuilt but at the time the damage to his eyes was not fixable. In many ways, he was fortunate to be alive but he would be cursed with a visor implant for the next fifteen years before switching to ocular implants. Needless to say, the fallout from this event was extreme. The other children had always pushed him around since he was the quiet type until one day when he just couldn't take it anymore, he proceeded to deal with this situation once and for all by breaking a boy's arm. it did little and he eventually had to go through every last one of them, landing over a dozen of them in the Medcenter. His anger with the issues and the lack of assistance proceed to be too much and he only became more and more ferocious when dealing with the bullies, to the point when he didn't know when to call it quits after he had defeated the various bullies in question, landing over a dozen of them in the local Medcenter on more than one occasion. Needless to say, they all quickly got the hint to back off, especially after the biggest one of them all landed in the Medcenter with a concussion and permanent physical damage to one leg. It was Edward Paris that realized there was an issue with his son and thus, father took his son aside and showed him other ways to temper his rage and channel his frustrations into other areas. It allowed father and son to really bond as never before. The family transferred back to Earth where all the kids including Paris were sent to school. Paris did really well, surpassing all his peers with his abilities and Paris's future seemed bright until his father died at Wolf 359. His rage returned as Paris realized that he wanted, almost craving revenge so he decided to go into Starfleet to carry on from where his father left off. Paris applied for Entry into Starfleet Academy in 2364 and was accepted. he graduated nearly at the top of his Class in 2368 and was instantly assigned to the USS Odyssey. A Galaxy Class Starship as an Ops Officer In 2370. Paris transferred over to the USS Salvation. one of the Newer Akira Class ships in the Fleet. if any assignment could be called his best to date, it was this one. Paris truly seemed to settle down and really enjoy this assignment, he made a lot of friends and the CO noticed how this young officer seemed to get along with everyone. it was here he met a woman named Kat Realrun and the two hit it off almost instantly, going through a mission both described as "the living embodiment of hell itself.". The event brought them together very quickly and they found that they had a future together. Six weeks later Kat found out that she was pregnant with their first child, a girl named Kadian. Paris transferred from the Salvation over to the USS Peerless in 2373 at the Start of the Dominion War. he served on the USS Peerless with distinction during several attacks by Dominion Forces Paris fought with the Peerless but she was damaged at the battle of the Tyra system where the seventh was decimated, he went across to the USS Trinculo, another of the Galaxy Class ships. This ship was serving in the Federation 9th Fleet. he was present for the Chin'toka Assault and he served the rest of the War onboard this ship, earning commendation after commendation, one for valor in the face of the enemy and the other three for courage under fire. He didn't escape unharmed, however, earning himself 2 purple hearts throughout the entire Dominion War William Paris was commanding the Fighter Squadron based off the USS Trinculo, when he was asked to come to the aid of a Federation convoy under attack by the Jem'Hadar, the escorts were overwhelmed and were taking heavy damage, when William arrived, the transport his family was on exploded right there before his very eyes and before he could even realize it, he was all alone in the night, he took the fight back to the Jem'Hadar and quickly drove them off. Paris remained in Starfighters for the rest of the war, taking on Lt Keyan Farlander as a wingmate for a few missions, before Farlander was transferred to assist elsewhere, he fought the battles of Chin'Toka, many of the fights in the Kalandra Sector, as well as the Battle of the Three Suns as well as many others. With the end of the war, he was transferred to a Starbase, Starbase 211 to be exact along the Cardassian Border where he helped repair several ships damaged by the Dominion War. he decided that another posting might be good for him and so he put in for a transfer to another ship when the time came due. William Paris was transferred over to the USS Viper where he faced his demons in what he called the away mission from hell and Lt Realrun was there to help him face them, the two were reunited for the first time in almost ten years, also were the only two survivors when the USS Viper was destroyed. they spent 2 months on Risa and then he was posted along with Lt Realrun to the Relentless when he was assigned back to starfighters as he had requested. William Paris then made his home aboard the USS Relentless for the next 2 years, he got married and he soon found himself welcoming, first a daughter named Kadian and then a son named Julian into existence but the good times were soon to end as Kat or 'Kassie' Paris as she preferred, was transferred off the Relentless along with him but they were split up and sent to different posts, she was sent to the Valley Forge while he was sent to TOP GUN as an Instructor on Earth, he would remain here for one year, raising hell among the students as they would try to shoot him down repeatedly, however they usually missed and only once was he ever 'shot down', this was by now Major Keyan Farlander. His assignment at TOP Gun was highly educational for him and all of his students. He remained here for three years before an emergency called him back to active duty, he was sent back to the USS Relentless to help in the hunt for the Xindi Superweapon as well as the Borg attack on the Shorian Homeworld. Since then he had also faced his own personal demons again as his wife and he were reunited but they also lost their third child due to a miscarriage. Kat had no way of knowing that this was what drove him during the Dominion War and why he changed his combat tactics from the mildly conservative to the aggressive attack. Also since returning to the Relentless, he has moved up in rank and post until he became the deputy CAG, Commander of Red Squadron and XO of the Air Wing, second only to Colonel MacIntyre herself. Paris was assigned as the commander of Red Squadron for two years before moving up to the posting of CAG of the Relentless for another two years before he was suddenly offered the chance to transfer out of starfighters and going into fleet when he was offered the chance to become executive officer of the Ambassador Class, USS Ambassador. Paris moved his family onto the USS Ambassador with him before the skipper was suddenly killed by a group of mercenaries. Paris was forced to assume command and he dealt with the situation with a minimum of fuss and effort. Paris was offered command of the Ambassador and he accepted, he remained here for four years before he was offered another ship, this one was Century class, but carried the same name as his old ship, he accepted and went across to her where he remains to this day. |
