| Personal History | Jhamal Sh'Trell was born on the Andorian Homeworld in 2340. Her parents were largely unknown but they were the unusual kind who preferred armored warfare rather then the heavy reliance upon transporter tech that the Federation had grown to reply upon ever since the founding of the Federation. Growing up on the homeworld. Sh'Trell grew to love the Marines and she would have applied but she was forced to mate with her bondgroup and produce children to stave off her species slow but inevitable decline. Her bondgroup was successful and produced three children. When Sh'Trell's familial duties were completed, she went off to the academy and wasted no time in getting her career off the ground with her demand being that the Federation make some tanks, she would lead the charge but that would be many years into the future. Sh'Trell's time at the academy was highly educational for her in many ways but in the end she graduated and was assigned to Starbase 12 to shore up their numbers as the marines in the are were having a lack of manpower due to personel getting reassigned elsewhere to deal with various threats. In 2370, however this young Shen was reassigned to the USS Rocket, one of the few ships she'd ever serve on in her career, it was here where she developed her various talents in small scale warfare in vehicles and also with boots on the ground. Sh'Trell would go on to fight the Klingons in the Federation Klingon War of 2373, the Borg in the Second Borg attack and lastly the Dominion and their various allies in the Dominion War. After the end of the war. Sh'Trell was reassigned to Starbase 47, about sic months away from the war as she was assigned to command one of the infantry battalions assigned to the base, it was not what she wanted but it was indeed better then nothing. Sh'Trell remained here until 2384 when she was finally given the chance to prove her theory because of a ground skirmish with a Tholian Force that almost turned into a full scale war on one of the colony worlds. the Tholian Fleet under the command of Lanra invaded Nimure Four and almost crushed the Federation force assigned to defend the world. Sh'Trell had arrived two days later with a small battlegroup tailored to her rather specific requirements, including large vehicles which were really test prototypes modified from other vehicles which were never meant for warfare. Sh'Trell and her engineers had created the Federation version of an old ZSU-23 based on a design from the old Soviet Union and with little to show for their work other then desperation, the Marines sent four of these tracked vehicles into battle with the Tholians where they proved they could work effectively by exterminating a Tholian force on the ground and they also shot down four Tholian shuttles and together they brought down one larger ship before they themselves were eventually picked off one at a time until they all died. However the concept had proven itself and thus the 'Donets' had showed that armored vehicles that were shielded and had heavy weapons load outs still had a place on the modern battlefield. After this engagement. Sh'Trell was sent to the Utopia Planetia Fleet yards to make more of the designs and see if they could be made to work on a massive scale and at last she was vindicated. Sh'Trell spent five years here, doing development for the Marines with tracked and wheeled armored vehicles. She considered this the greatest assignment of her life and after developing the first generation of tanks, along side a dozen or so other. After five years assigned here. Sh'Trell was assigned to command the newly created 1st Armored Division. Planetia decided to borrow the trappings from the old United States Marine Corps and she found herself based at Starbase Forty Seven, known as Vanguard, a refference to a starbase that had existed a century earlier, orbiting a world called Shangrila III. Now she had to make the concepts work in the field and not just on paper. |
