| Personal History | Born on Wolf 359's Stapelton Center in 2348, Ashley Kuechler grew up as a much beloved and happy child alongside her four brothers, she was the youngest so she tended to get babied and overprotected a lot while she was growing up but she also learned how to pick and choose her battles rather than fight every single fight that came her way. She grew up developing an interest in computer sciences and operations, what set her apart was the interest she developed in quantum gravity and massive singularities, such as black holes and other stellar remnants. When Ashley graduated school at age seventeen, she left Stapelton Center bound for Alpha Centauri, here she entered the academy at age twenty after spending two years picking up a computer sciences degree at Alpha Centauri University Ashley's time at the academy was interesting and highly educational for her in many ways, including the sexual kind when she met a Marine who was the quiet and shy type, but he seemed to speak her language. The two began dating but he was a marine and she was navy, both of them quickly ran into issues because of their differences in services. What Kuechler did not know was that the last time they had slept together, he had gotten her pregnant so she ended up carrying their first child to term while they both went their separate ways to finish the academy, but they were reunited almost by chance on their first assignment to the USS Barnham. Kuechler's assignment here was several years long, long enough for her and Edward to start dating again, a year into their courtship he proposed to her and added that he was taking her last name as he was an orphan rather than have her take his or some mix of the two, needless to say, Ashley was deeply touched by this. She found herself becoming pregnant with their second child in the run-up to the second Borg attack which the Barnham was present for, following that fight, Kuechler and the Barnham were sent to the front lines, she had enough time to drop her two children off with her parents who liked her new husband immensely. Edward and Ashley fought the war together and they both survived the battle of Tyra where their ship and several hundred of their crew did not survive. He was taken back to Federation space on the USS Lionheart, an Akira class ship packed to the gunwales with refugees from destroyed Federation ships as her skipper refused to leave thousands behind to be slaughtered, after all, his ammo stocks were expended, he tossed all of his fighters and shuttles overboard, using them under remote control to attack the Cardassian and Jem'Hadar forces to buy time, he opened holes in his shields and was able to save over ten thousand more lives from ships that were already hulked or in the process of being demolished. Captain Stephen Caldwell earned himself the highest award for valor that day and his ship became something of a legend for the heroic actions of himself and his crew. Kuechler meanwhile was able to organize her people to assist Lionheart's crew, thus relieving Captain Caldwell of some of the burden. The Lionheart and the other fourteen ships made it back to Starbase 375 where they offloaded all of their personnel and thousands of wounded. Starfleet vowed revenge for the loss of the Seventh. Kuechler was reassigned over to the USS Vendetta. A Nebula-class ship set up for deep space tactical assignments and there was plenty to go around, she was present for all of the major battles in the war but she was escorting a convoy designated PQ-18 to the Vegan System so she was not present for the big fight in the Chin'Toka system The Vendetta was reassigned to hold the line in Chin'Toka for over three months and she held well, destroying over twenty Jem'Hadar ships in a week, by the end of her tour, she was responsible for over forty kills and assisted with another forty. Vendetta was rotated off for relief and refitting, which took two weeks, the crew also got badly needed time off. Kuechler found herself becoming pregnant with their third child around this time. The war was getting very close to home and it was also getting more and more bitter as time went along. Eventually, the war ended as the Vendetta was part of the Fleet that conducted the march on Cardassia to close out the war and end the brutal fighting, even though the cost was extremely high, their efforts ended in victory. Kuechler soon had her first two children reunited with her and her husband back aboard the USS Vendetta as the fleet quickly recognized to occupational duties and relief assignments, a hallmark and defining a feature of the Vendetta's assignments for the next several years before going in for a comprehensive refit. Kuechler was reassigned to another Nebula-class starship that had an opening for her and her husband, the USS Flying Fortress where she becomes Chief Ops for one year before being promoted to Executive officer for the rest of her assignment to this ship, she was then posted to the USS Ramillies for a year before being offered her own command, the brand new USS Padeshah which was a brand new Sovereign class ship of the line. In 2391. Kuechler was forced to transfer across to the newly commissioned USS Pensacola, a newly constructed Andromeda class starship of the newest and last version of the older Galaxy class and here she commands this ship to this day, now in 2393, she was asked to take over a Squadron of Cruisers in the ninety-second fleet and she accepted. |
