| Personal History | Born in 2355 on the Haven Jace Bajoran colony that was under the grip of a rather harsh Cardassian occupation, his father did the best he could to keep the people here alive despite the Cardassian Gul's almost insistence that these people suffer and die to further his glory and the goals of the Union. Othello Hunt was finally taken out back and executed when James was just ten years old but what was worse was that he was made to watch this event go down, it sealed in granite his endless hatred of all things Cardassian. It was meant as a lesson in terror but what the Cardassians didn't know what that in a year, half of the Cardassians on the planet would be dead and it would be James's mother, a rather comely looking Bajoran slave who the Cardassians were using as a comfort woman. This state of affairs only angered him further. She was left to finish the job that Othello had started and she began a gentle uprising by refusing to bed the next Cardassian, when she refused he hit her with such force that he broke her jaw, then he went to force himself on her. James came to the aid of his mother with two knives as he ruthlessly killed the Cardassian. James knew what he had done and while he made no apology for it, he also had taken a life but it had been of a species he was raised to hate. The Cardassians went out and rounded up ten women at random, then they announced that unless the killer surrendered by sunset local time, then the ten women would die. The response was a snipers round going through the skill of the camp commandant with such force that his head and upper torso exploded from the heat imparted by the impact, alas James did what he could but there was no way he was going to get them all and six of the Bajoran women died horrible death's. James decided he wanted revenge for them too as he became nicknamed 'The Cardassian's Ghost'. this was a name that later got shortened to 'The Grey Ghost' and 'Ghost' but what he did was the work of no ghost, he reaped a bloody harvest until he was finally captured two months later stealing two loaves of bread. The female Cardassian tried to rape him yet James fought her, she simply fought back harder but eventually, she overcame his strength and she had her way with him. A week after he escaped, she turned up dead, her death was particularly gruesome as she had been violated and had her throat cut almost to the point where her head was severed. The Cardassians decided to not bother reinforcing this world as James and his friends continued their rampage of destruction, eventually linking up with other rebel cells across Bajoran space. This was what convinced the Cardassians to abandon the colony two weeks later, after the fuel refinery was obliterated in a massive firebombing attack. Late in 2369 after the Cardassians had withdrawn from Bajor and had abandoned all of the other colonies too, James had decided that he had had enough of war and decided to settle down and heal the lands of war. His mother agreed with his choice but she also encouraged him to seek out those who came to the colony and assisted them with nothing in return. The crew of the USS Enterprise was only too happy to help. Under the watchful eyes of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. James found himself facing a real challenge for the first time as he indicated that he wanted to pay the Federation back and he requested that Picard take him with the crew of the Enterprise. Picard was rather hesitant on the matter and but in the end, he denied James, citing his age but he told James that Federations ships would be passing through this area and he would not be ignored. Several years later James enlisted when he turned age seventeen, he then did his ROTC education and boot camp on Earth rather than on one of the colony worlds as he had heard that Earth was a paradise and he wanted to see this fabled world for himself. |
