Enter the Trap - Part One

Mission: Mission 12: Hitchhikers are Escaped Convicts
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 0800Hrs - February 16th, 2390

"Sir we have reached the coordinates, the freighter is heavily damaged sir," came the operations officer. She stood up "Red Alert, ready weapons and open hailing frequencies to the enemy ship." Yoshi order, "Channel open sir," came the reply.

"This is the USS Shadow. Withdraw fire from that ship, if you don't we will open fire....." Yoshi stated to say as she was cut off by the ship shaking. "Well that answers my question. Open fire, don't destroy unless necessary, just disable them." Yoshi ordered.

"It would seem they're not in a talking mood... that's fine by me I'm versatile." Mike said, his fingers dancing across his console.

"Taking evasive action, Time to show them what a Sovereign class starship can do."

Yoshi looked around as the ship rockeded, "Status?" She called out.

Joe's hands flew over the controls:"Shields down to 90% percent Captain."

"Keep firing what we got, keep moving and disable them." Yoshi ordered. "Enemy ship stand down and leave or we will destroy you. You have open fire upon a Federation ship and have attacked a Federation Allie so stand down. This is your final warning." Yoshi ordered.

Sickbay

Down in the sickbay Duka was still recovering from his operations. Bandadges where still over his eyes as the familiar sound of the red alert went off. Great he thought as the familiar sounds of a busy medical bay going into overtime to prepare for incoming casualties. Trust him to be able to do nothing other than keep calm he thought to himself.

Meanwhile Yamaguchi was busy organizing her medical teams to be hot deployed to wherever they were needed. "Team Two, you're on point, head to Engineering and bring back the bodies." as she almost shooed them out the door. "Teams Three and Four, handle the Saucer section." she paused as a smile graced her lips before letting gout a whistle. "I need our biggest computer geek in here for a special mission."

Transporter Room

Ruhr was waiting impatiently on the transporter with the rest of her boarding party. Her hair was loose and she looked feral. "Come on Anjar, knock down those shields. I want to smash heads together." she said under her breath.

"Ruhr standbye until we can get them away from the Bolian ship. I cant have the shields down until we can get them disabled." Yoshi ordered.

"Roger that Captain." Ruhr responded, a little impatience noted in her voice. "Waiting like this is the worst part." she told her fellow Marines.

Pirate Ship

Meanwhile on the Pirate ships bridge, the Captain smiled as he turned to his first officer, presently a hulking Orion. "Shall we show the Shadow the folly of opposing us?"

The massive Orion chuckled. "Yessir." as he turned and carried out the order as the Orion pirate vessel slowly moved to starboard and away from the disabled Freighter she had been attacking not too long before dropping off two mines, one of them locked onto the Shadow and moved to engage while the second locked onto the Freighter but a quick phaser blast from the Shadow shattered the second mine before it could finish off the freighter.

As this was going on, there were two more flashes as two more ships dropped out of warp to engage the Shadow, as both ships slowed to engage the lone Sovereign class ship, the commander of the second ship hailed the shadow on audio. "You are outgunned and outmanned Shadow, shan ddown and we may permit you to leave... this Freighter and her cargo is ours.... do not test us further or we'll just kill you."

USS Shadow

"Captain, it's a long shot but if we were to fly between these two ships." Mike said, bringing up a tactical overview of the area on the left half of the viewscreen. Two of the Orion ships outlined in red, "Split phaser fire between them in a boardside then firing aft torpedos as we slip past, we may be able to even out the odds a little. If we're lucky they may even hit each other while trying to take us out."

She thought for a moment to think if it would work, "Do it make sure they don't destroy that freighter." Yoshi ordered as she was trying to think of other ways they can defeat them.

"I'll do what I can, RCS thrusters are a little sluggish and the impulse engines are at 80 percent." Mike replied as he turned the wounded Shadow around to slide into the gap between 2 of the Orion ships. They passed through the gap at one quarter impulse, Phasers blazing for it's port and starboard arrays. As they passed the 2 ships a full burst of Quantum torpedoes burst from her aft launchers, her shields bright from repeated hits.

She tapped her combadge, "Maxwell get to the bridge stat, I need to have your mind at work here." She ordered then ended the comm.

Maxwell had gotten the orders that he was to be upon the bridge and he did just as he was told, his face sooted black with goggles over his eyes. "Starfleets desginated mad man in working clothes and no deoderant, reporting for duty." He stated as he turned his head and regarded the freightor with a blink and blurry eye. He just hummed before he turned and he then turned and walked over to the engineering console. There he brought up the various scans that they had on the vessel and he went to work, fleeting overtop of a few things. "Access main library computer. Compare scans of vessel to design specificiations."


Pirate Ship

Meanwhile the Orion Commander smiled. "I see they are taking my bait.. Lets reward them shall we?" he turned. "Target the Freighter... Destroy that ship." he commented.

The Henchman rumbled something. "We should defeat that ship first before turning to the weaker threat."

"Indeed... Which is why our two companion ships will deal with the shadow while we deal with our real quarry." he replied evenly, normally a situation like this was a very serious offense on a pirate ship as the Captain was well within his rights to execute the offender for whatever rights he wished however Captain Brakka was known for his extreme patience. "Bring our new torpedoes online."

"Yessir." with that the henchman turned to obey his orders, grateful the Orion had not had him shot on the spot, he turned to his console as he smiled. "targeting both targets now."

"Good... kill them.."
