Posted on Sun Feb 23rd, 2020 @ 10:35pm by Fleet Captain Torilla Yamaguchi

Mission: Mission 5: Skyfall
Location: Commanding Officers Ready Room - USS Venator
Timeline: 1300Hrs - January 19th, 2389

Lt Commander Torilla Yamaguchi sighed angrilly as she was pissed off
regarding the present sttae of affairs on her flying scrapheap of a
first command but she also reminded herself that her old friend was on her way to assist her with repairs to this ship, she rose to her feet as she walked out of the ready room and onto the bridge. "Report Commander?"

She had left Commander Jonathan Roebuck the forth in command of the watch as he seemed like he was a skilled pair of hands with a stable mind, she wanted Alex Harrison and Leon Pike's skills elsewhere and they already had the rank of Captain so she decided to have someone else earn their stripes,
this led her to Roebuck.

“The Repair ship Vestal is en-route to us Commander.” Roebuck informed Yamaguchi as she entered the Bridge.

"Excellent. how long till she gets here?"

“Two hours.” Roebuck replied.

"Very well, carry on, I'm going to tour the ship... such as she is... the bridge is still yours." and with that Torilla turned and walked off of the bridge, her first stop was Sickbay as she wanted to visit her senior staff in their domain.

A few minutes later she walked into sickbay where Doctor Tressa Brislan was said to be lurking somewhere around here as she dozen or so other Doctors and nurses seemed to be in good spirits as one of them asked if they could help her. "I'm just touring the ship Doctor. Please hand this to Doctor Brislan when you see her, its from my daughter to her."

Tressa heard her name as she walked out of an exam room.

"Ahh, there you are.... this is for you." and with that Torilla handed the smaller woman the PADD, it was a chatty letter from Starbase 400 and the Doctors name had been CC'ed onto it, it was from Rachael. "I think Rachael likes you, she's looking after your two in addition to herself."

The doctor smiled as she took the PADD, "I'm glad for that and hope the boy hasn't worn her nerves too thin," she replied with a laugh. "Kaylee is the quiet one; just give her a book and someplace comfortable to read and she's fine for hours. I certainly hope they aren't taking too much time from her studies."

"I honestly never asked her that question... But then, I trust Rachael..." she smiled. "I'd best be off.... enjoy the letter." and with that, Torila turned and departed, her next stop was engineering.

She knew that Lieutenant Archer was on the bridge with Roebuck, as was Aiden Murphy who had spent an hour of one night hitting on her, something that still made her smile and also Sergeant Maal was also on the bridge too, as she entered the same turbolift she had just exited, "Engineering." she said simply

A few minutes later she walked into a zoo that Engineering resembled as she looked over at Leon Pike who was assisting in Engineering and Lieutenant Zhao Quan who was this ships present Chief Engineer. "Gentlemen, give me good news, please tell me you have some."

Zhao looked at the captain for a second before replying. "We haven't had any additional reports of failures, but we still have a lot of work to do, captain. We have got the main engines balanced and I have two technicians working on the Emergency medical programme, which should not be long. Unless my second disagrees I think that covers the main points, Sir".

Lee looked up from the terminal he was working on then nodded towards Lt. Quan before going back to work.

In Security, Saith stood back and looked at the wall. The young engineer and she had finally got it patched and shielded; the cell was now secure. “Good work,” she told him. She was trying to be “kinder” and “gentler” with the people working underneath her. “Thanks, sir. Everything should be good to go now” he replied. She nodded and left him to clean up his gear. She headed out to the main office and ran a series of tests on the cell block. She nodded at the results and moved to her office to complete her reports.

Before leaving to help Dr. Brislan, she looked in on their super-secured, overly guarded “guest.” He glared in her direction, but she ignored him and checked the locks on his cell. Its calm interface hid the fact that it was rapidly spinning through random lock combinations, making it harder to pick should anyone try. Saith turned, nodded towards the security detail assigned to the cell and left.

She made her way to Sickbay, waiting patiently for Dr. Brislan to finish what she was doing. She forced a smile on her face (trying to be nicer), “Security is secure, how about you? Ready to communicate?” She let the doctor lead the way out of Sickbay.

"I'll warn you I'm a bit rusty, its been at least a year since I worked a comm," the doctor said with a chuckle.

Saith smiled, "and I have no communications experience at all. So, this will be fun won't it?" she asked skeptically. As she was trying to work on social skills, Saith tried to think of something to talk about. She couldn't, so they walked in silence except when Saith answered Dr. Brislan. As they entered the bridge, they could tell something was up. They headed for the Communications consoles.
