Last in and Last Out - Part Two

Mission: Mission 3: Quantum of Solace
Location: Various Locations - USS Saratoga
Timeline: 1445Hrs - July 30th, 2388

Yamaguchi looked at the Deltan, natural concern radiating from her lovely
dark eyes. "Alright, pull whatever resources you need because until we
get back to Starbase... Hopefully, nobody will fall apart on us."

Yamaguchi nodded as she rose to her feet. "Moose. what's the status of the
prisoners?" she inquired.

Moose, the massively hulking Bajoran responded. "They are being checked over by Medical personel with security for protection, so far none have caused any disturbances. Time will tell however whether or not they
behave."

"Understood. Keep them in custody, we'll take them to Starbase 400 and
let command deal with them." she carefully kept her opinion on what to do
with the Gorn to herself which was simply space the lot of them out the
airlock. "Where is the USS Buraq?" she inquired evenly as the Doctor rose
to his feet and departed from the bridge.

"It's moving towards Starbase 400. At low warp... "

She nodded. "Very well. Helm, lay in an intercept course and engage but
maintain speed." she commented

A short time later, Yamaguchi stood in the transporter room with the
two dozen or so personel that were going over to the USS Buraq, mostly
engineers with some Marines and Pilots as well as the ships Second
Officer, Lieutenant Helmsley was there as well as he had been released
to quarters several hours before and he had requested to lead the
assignment to bring his ship back into port.

Yamaguchi and Hurd had seen no reason not to grant his request, "We'll
get you there, make sure your engines are working so you can bring her
in under your power."

"It'll be done, sir..." Helmsley replied quietly, he knew the respect that
Yamaguchi was showing him and he also knew that he did not deserve such,
he or his ship could have simply been towed in and that would have been
the end of that but he could see in her eyes, what it meant to command a
ship before one was ready.

"Alright, Captain... you'd best be off." Naval tradition said that an officer
in command of a ship was addressed as Captain, regardless of rank so this
made life easier for her. "The temporary crew we've assigned you will be
replaced by your personel as they become ready for duty."

He nodded. "Yessir. I understand"

"Right, off with you then.." and with that, he turned and walked into the transporter pad along with the half dozen others. "Good Luck" Yamaguchi
said evenly.

"Thank you sir."

Yamaguchi turned her head as she nodded to the Transporter Chief. "Energize
when you're ready Chief."

She watched as the personel were transported away. "Transport successful sir.
The personel are all aboard the USS Buraq."

"Thank you." and with that, she turned and walked out the door, her next
the destination was back to the bridge of the USS Saratoga, Colonel Hurd was
off watch at present and she found she was greatly relishing this opportunity,
she was finding it hard to keep a smile off of her face as she dealt with
her new crew, they had earned her trust but they always had her respect as
they were the same uniform that she did.

She stepped onto the bridge as the Ops officer called. "Commander on Deck."

Yamaguchi sighed softly as she decided to do something about that annoying
little ritual that aggravated her and instantly set her nerves on end, she
was still new, untried and untested in a real situation requiring combat
where people's lives were on the line but she wanted some space to work,
this ritual took that away from her and constantly reminded her that she
was new. "In future please do not announce either myself or the Colonel
when we come onto the bridge, there is no need... It's distracting to all
of you and to us as well."

"Ah... My apologies sir." sh'McEkoor said sheepishly.

"Don't worry about it, tradition is tradition after all." Yamaguchi smiled.
"What's the Status of the Buraq?"

"She's hailing us, telling us she's going to slow to impulse."

Yamaguchi nodded. "Answer affirmative, Helm stay with them."

"Staying with them" the Thai woman who Torilla remembered was called Ensign
Jiao Anderson.

Yamaguchi watched as the starlines of warp were replaced by the vast and timeless firmament of the heavens. "Moose, take the Buraq in tow," she commented. "Take us to Warp Five Jiao as soon as you can." she addressed the Conn officer by name rather than by rank.

"Aye sir." the massive Bajoran responded as Yamaguchi recalled his name as Senior Chief Petty Officer Chalan "Moose" Fuliar raised an eyebrow.
"We have the Buraq in tow Commander"

"Going to Warp Four sir...." she narrowed her eyes. "They are rotating their
warp field to match ours, it'll make towing easier."

"Excellent. Time until arrival?"

"Arrival at Starbase Four Hundred in Eleven hours sir," Anderson responded
evenly from her station.

Yamaguchi went and sat down in the command chair as she smiled, she decided
she wanted someone on one with the ship she would be commanding for the
foreseeable future.
