Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity
Timeline: 0800Hrs - October 8th, 2393

Commodore T'Shaamet was seated in her command chair, she was still a little sore and stiff from the head wound she had taken the previous afternoon but she was also worn out from the demands of children and of her spouse. Doctor Jackson Antilles who had worried about her and she knew it, their evening routine last night had been more subdued than normal because while she was smaller and stronger, she was also wounded and he worried. The Infinity was more or less on round the clock yellow alert and all the senior staff was on notice that they would be required at their posts whenever something went wrong. They had been at this assignment now for almost a week and everyone was tired and glad to be heading home, for that was the Infinity's next stop in the grand scheme of things. To deliver the medical infomation they had obtained and the prisoners who almost all wished to go wit5h the Infinity back to her home reality.

Lt Commander Meslina Amakawa raised an eyebrow. 'Skipper, I'm reading a large Cardassian force approaching, they are heading along with a different heading but we will intercept them unless we change course and speed at once." the small Trill female at Operations, turned her head as she explained the predicament of the Infinity and her personel now found themselves in.

"Red alert. All hands to Battlestations." the small Vulcan sighed as she gave out the order she was hoping to not give. "How long till intercept?"

"Eight minutes, four seconds... They are picking us up on their sensors now... and I make it as almost an entire fleet... over a hundred warships of various types." Amakawa answered.

"What do you think Commander?" T'Shaamet inquired of Horner. "They will see through our ruse," she added. "Helm, drop us out of warp..." she commented. "Stand by to initiate a random maneuver of your choice before heading back into warp, heading for the nearest Star system, again, your choice Heather."

Walking Bear nodded her head. "Aye skipper. The Walking Bear Two-Step will be ready on your say so." the tall human female reported from Conn, she grinned. "I love a challenge," she added.

Horner paused a moment. Then Horner spoke when she saw T'Shaamet turning her attention back to her. "Indeed, we could try retreating... But they might give chase and give away our location, we will need to lose them." the larger human female explained. "Otherwise it'll give us away and we might expose these Cardassians to our home reality and we do NOT need that happening," she added.

T'Shaamet turned to her left as she regarded the strange human male who was sitting there in silence, she was suddenly thankful that Commander Duval didn't just interject himself all over the place as some people had a habit of doing, especially Admirals but he waited for her to address him. "What's your perspective Commander?" she inquired of him, as she wished to hear his answer.

"If we were in a ship that's native to this reality, I'd tell you to drop as many mines out the back as possible and then run as fast as you could for as long as you could. Cardassians tend to not wish to give up lightly." he paused. "Being as outnumbered and outmatched as we are... However, all that said... We are not in a ship native to this reality... I say we make a stand."

Horner regarded him. "Make a stand... We are one ship with precious cargo," she said aloud, with surprise coloring her tone.

"Indeed Commander," Duval answered. "However, we've had excellent chances against the various fleets and forces that have faced us thus far... We've also been holding our punches and restraining ourselves." he paused. "Meslina, where are those ships originally heading?" Duval inquired. "We unleash our full might against the lead elements of their fleet, kill a few and make them back down..." he outlined his proposal in quick and simple terms for T'Shaamwet and Horner to process.

"Commander. The fleet here is heading..." Amakawa paused as she did the calculations. The answer left her in a state of dismay. "Towards Starbase Vanguard..." the small Trill explained as she watched what seemed like half the viewscreen suddenly light up with a massive flash of light as dozens of Cardassian ships emerged from warp. "Captain, they are closing on us..."

"Helm, escape plan now," T'Shaamet answered as she knew that Infinity needed to withdraw rather than fight, as she didn't have anywhere near the firepower needed for such an occasion. The Infinity turned about as she slowly powered up her drive but suddenly the warp drive failed. "Sir, they have deployed a high energy jamming field. We can't withdraw."

T'Shaamet turned to Duval as she nodded to him before she turned back to Horner. "Well, then I guess we're fighting after-all." she murmured. "Helm, new plan..."

"Sir, they're flanking us..." Amakawa commented.

"Very well. Kayden, open fire on the lead elements only." the Vulcan commented as she regarded her Bajoran chief tactical officer. "You have been exemplary in your conduct and patience Commander but now I must ask... Open fire, all weapons, maximum yield."
