Whispers of Treason - Part Seven

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - Terran Imperial Headquarters - Earth, SOL
Timeline: 2200Hrs - October 3rd, 2393

Captain Yamaguchi dismissed the Vulcan servants as she and Dr. Ashley emerge from the hot tub. She ordered Gutierrez to take up a position outside of the chamber's door and admit no one. She calls the ship which is going under a scheduled refit of certain areas. Commander Namura and Lt.Commander Al-Rashid the chief engineer have been overseeing the work for the past twenty hours and all is going as scheduled. Lieutenant Okoye the helmsman and chief of security, has her people keep a vigilant eye on the engineering staff from the 40 Eridani Shipyards who are working on the ship. She supervises her security teams from the bridge.

"How are things going with the refit?" Yamaguchi asks as she wraps her wet body with a towel.

On the bridge of Potemkin. Commander Namura sat erect in the captain's chair monitoring the progress of the technicians. She indicated for Lt. Okoye to join her at the chair to talk to the captain. "It's going well captain," Namura reports "The yard personnel has been working around the clock on primary and secondary systems. In six hours they will be replacing the entire bridge assembly, replacing it with the new Mark 4 bridge configuration. That will take ten hours to complete. Lt. Matthews reports transporter unit one is still offline. She has conducted a full range of diagnostics on it and hasn't found the cause of the earlier malfunction that nearly killed Lt. Gutierrez."

Yamaguchi listens carefully to Namura's report. She is pleased to hear that the refit is proceeding well, but the transporter situation has her concerned. "Tell Matthews to get some of the yard techs to help her with that," Yamaguchi ordered. "We will need all the transporters operational in five hours. If she can't have that system back up and running..."

"I shall have her liquidated and replaced." Namura interrupted.

Yamaguchi shakes her head and laughs slightly at Namura's zeal. The commander is a no-nonsense, hard-working, by the book, officer who won't hesitate to kill any crewman who fails in the performance of his or her duty. Those traits are what make Namura indispensable as a first officer and that's why Yamaguchi chose her for that position, for now at least, later would come.

"No commander, don't kill her..." Yamaguchi says, obviously amused. "Matthews is a hard worker and a good officer. Besides, she is my bodyguard commander's girlfriend and I wouldn't want to piss her off."

"Yes, captain." Namura acknowledged.

"If that transporter isn't ready, have Matthews prepare the cargo transporter for human use," Yamaguchi ordered. "Now, have all of the preparations been made for the governor's operations? Lt. Okoye?"

"Yes captain, everything is ready and we await your orders." Lt. Okoye reports. "I've followed your instructions and have selected the best people for this assignment. It should be fun!"

Yamaguchi smiles upon hearing Okoye's enthusiastic tone. The new chief of security always relishes a good fight. "Very good, lieutenant," Yamaguchi says as Dr. Ashley sips another glass of Romulan ale. "Commander, you shall lead the alpha team and secure all exits. Lieutenant, you will lead the bravo team and secure the hall itself. On my signal, both teams will liquidate everyone in the hall... no prisoners... no mercy... If we want to succeed, then they need to die."

Both officers grinned slightly at the captain's orders, they are ready for action. Eliminating fellow Terrans does not trouble any of them in the slightest.

"Understood captain!" Namura and Okoye respond in unison.

"Very good! I'll contact you when to begin. Beam your teams into the designated area and await my signal." Yamaguchi orders. "When this part of the operation is complete, we will start phase two immediately."

"Understood!" the officers respond again.

"It shall be fun ladies... Yamaguchi out!" The captain laughs as she snaps her communicator closed.

Ashley hands Yamaguchi a glass of Romulan ale and sits down on the side of the emptying hot tub. The doctor casts a concerned gaze at her captain. Yamaguchi has the habit of pushing herself too hard, especially before a mission. The doctor always has to remind her to relax. This bath in a Vulcan hot tub was Ashley's idea and she is glad that the captain agreed to partake. Now she has to get her to relax a little more.

"Okay April, do I need to tell you to relax?" Ashley asks calmly. "You've been going for twenty-two hours straight. You need a nap. I can give you something..."

Yamaguchi nods her head as she takes a seat on the cot in the corner. She begins to feel the weight of fatigue all over her body as she stretches out on the cot. Her long dark hair is still damp underneath the towel she's tied on her head causing her a little discomfort, but not enough to keep her awake.

"No doctor, that won't be necessary.." Yamaguchi replied. "Give something to Gabriella, I need her fresh for later on. We'll be safe enough here, under the governor's protection."

Ashley nods and takes a small hypospray from the pocket of her hanging uniform.

"I'll time her shot to wear off in four hours," Ashley explains. "Then she'll wake up refreshed and raring to go!"

Yamaguchi did not respond, Ashley turned to find the captain already asleep.

"Can't hold your liquor... " Ashley laughs as she pulls a blanket over the captain, up to her shoulders. "It's going to be a hell of a day...." she added a moment later.
