Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity
Timeline: 1000Hrs - September 27th, 2393

Commodore T'Shammet Antilles slowly blinked her eyes, she was a new mother, struggling with the demands of a needy infant in the house and a husband who had post-traumatic stress disorder issues, one or the other was demanding and both together was a lot to process. She tried to put it aside as best as she could. "Helm, what's our time of arrival?" she inquired in a gentle tone of voice.

Walking Bear was a much more experienced parent then T'Shaamet was, so she knew of the Vulcan's issues. "We're approaching the Utgarde system now." Walking Bear explained with a nod. "Going to impulse in two minutes," she added a moment later.

Sarah Horner turned to T'Shaamet. "Only a day or so for resupply. We will be ready for anything." she smiled at her commanding officer while her fingers tapped out a quick message to be sent to the databases of all of the crew of the ship. "There will be no leaves on this stop." as she added. "I'm going to utilize the entire crew to get done what we need to do."

"Thank you number one." T'Shaamet rose to her feet. "Join me in the ready room number one, there was one other detail that came in today that I've yet to address." she then strode into her personal space just next to the bridge, the much taller human female followed in silence. Once the two were alone, T'Shaamet turned. "I was asked how you felt about having your command."

If the human woman had any measure of surprise on her face, she didn't show it. "Oh, one's available?"

"We are presently in the middle of a massive expansion phase in Starfleet's recent history, it looks set to continue for several more years yet. One will always be available." the small-framed Vulcan explained evenly.

Horner processed the details and she knew she was overdue for the promotion. "Only because it's you T'Shaamet who's mentioning this to me, do I accept."

"Good. Sarah, serving with you has been a true privilege. But before we can say our farewells, we must decide who is going whereas this crew will be getting a lot of job offers and I wanted to go over them with you." she explained before she slid her small petite form into a chair before her desk, before she reached for a PADD, she regarded Horner with a smile. "Kayden Nell is due for his command, so he'll get the chance." the small Vulcan explained evenly. Morae will get an offer for Exec, from either, you, me or Nell... She should feel free to choose between us, same with Alyssa Temetti, though I doubt she will be parted from her husband... Same with Walking Bear.. though I know he's being offered his regiment of marines down on Utgarde IV. He'd be stupid if he didn't accept... So a good chunk of our senior staff is going to be leaving."

Horner pondered the matter. "Alyssa and Kolar would let themselves be broken up, they only have one child and Darman isn't young either, both would accept the first officer assignment on various ships..." she paused a moment. "Move Jackson from medical to Tactical to replace Nell, he needs the outlet and he'll be less than six foot from you at all times... If you need to alleviate his frustrations, you just need to retreat into the ready room and take care of matters. Rather than head on down to sickbay." Horner suddenly grinned at the smaller female before her.

T'Shaamet smiled back. "Very wise," she answered. "That is why you will be missed by me, Sarah... You can anticipate my needs and arrange for them," she explained with a wide smile. "You also don't hold my issues against me, some would." she then let out a soft sigh. "I wish I could keep you but that would be unfair to you and your career..."

"I can always refuse..." Horner answered softly.

"No. You've earned this chance. I will not deny you." T'Shaamet answered rather hotly. "You have been my strong and steady right hand through times, both good and bad... I hope your successor is worthy of you."

"We'll see the skipper." Horner paused. "Okay, so who else?"

"Shaalari Zh'Terran needs to be promoted to Commander, she will then become first officer fodder for one of us. It might be me though." T'Shaamet explained. "Meslina and Tressa are not qualified for another other then what they are... Meslina is also stuck like a fly in amber."

"She likes what she has and nothing more... I wonder why?" Horner paused. "I'll look at her later. We should break the news to the senior staff... Let them know whats going on."

"Announce everyone else's business in front of everyone else?" Horner inquired as she regarded T'Shaamet with a measured look.

"Sure, why not..." the small Vulcan tapped her combadge. "All senior staff, this is the Captain. could you please report to the conference lounge in ten minutes please?, I have news I wish to share with you all." she then lifted the PADD and walked out the door, Horner followed in silence.
