The two of them approached Lasky's office. His yeoman nodded to him. "Good Morning Admiral, you have eleven items requiring your attention but you have no calls waiting at present, your first meeting is around oh nine hundred hours so you have a little time to resolve the paperwork concerns you need to address." before he nodded to Yamaguchi-Cullen. "Good Morning El-Tee."
Lasky smiled. "Thanks, Ryan. Could you hold my calls for a little while?. The Lieutenant and I have a matter we need to resolve between us." he explained what he wised of the yeoman assigned to him.
"Willdo skipper." the man answered. "It'll let you know if anything comes up okay?"
"Sounds good," Lasky answered before he moved into his office. Yamaguchi-Cullen followed in silence. Lasky had a well-appointed office with two large sofas which looked large, soft, and plush. Yamaguchi-Cullen had a feeling that this was for the comfort of his guests rather than himself as he tended to sit at his desk. "Take a seat Rachael... any seat, as they are not for decoration."
"You got these for Plataea, didn't you?" Yamaguchi-Cullen indicated the sofas with both of her hands.
"I did, she tends to like spending time in my company... I wish I could get Siaxx to at least, consider me worthy of anything other than her contempt," Lasky commented.
"Siaxx is something of a delicate wallflower right now, she does have the Bolian pregnancy issues cropping up, anyone raises their voice anywhere near her, she bursts into tears or she gets angry," Yamaguchi-Cullen explained. "But I'll talk to her, all the same, and I'll make sure that Chen is in the room as well, I do not need that conversation going sour."
"Very wise." Lasky paused as he produced a PADD. "Still, before you go, you should read that..."
"What's this?" Yamaguchi-Cullen accepted the paperwork and she began to read it, her eyes devouring the information as if it was a letter from her husband.
"Its the paperwork for the medal I was going to stick you in for," Lasky explained. "Captain Rabb approved it so the process is ongoing."
"Oh." Yamaguchi-Cullen paused. "I had no idea..." she paused. "Can I keep this PADD... or at least have a copy of the information on it, just in case Siaxx does not listen to reason.?"
"Yeah, you can borrow the PADD... Just don't lose it... and I will want the PADD back when you are finished with it as the information is rather sensitive and should anyone else get it, they can acquire a medal for themselves or someone else... and I do not need that drama." as he gently received it back and then he activated the encryption on it so only she could use it, then he handed it back to her. "Hows Saki these days?"
"I'm concerned about her," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered in a quiet tone of voice. "She's now had two major head injuries in less than a year..."
"Oh yes, I heard about this incident with their ship's school. Captain Hunt ended up sacking the entire school over the matter. Lets not even discuss what he did to the parents of Mister Vroom..., But he demanded that they either accept reassignment off of his ship or he would demand that JAG make then resign from Starfleet." Lasky explained. "I've seen Jordal Hunt in many states... But I've never seen him that angry before..."
"Wow," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered quietly. "Ennis hasn't said a word on the matter to me, neither has Saki."
"I'm not surprised, he did, however, speak of it to the Exec... and he dealt with the matter by recruiting several of the ships civilians and helping them to create a new school," Lasky explained evenly. "Captain Hunt's report was lengthy, detailed, dramatic and thorough," Lasky added. "I got a copy of the report because of my posting."
"Saki is still developing and I don't know what two concussions will do to her," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered.
"We can ask Doctor Dvald later. I am sure she will tell us." Lasky answered.
"Hows Kurt doing?" Yamaguchi-Cullen answered with a soft smile on her lips. "Does Elizabeth still babysit for him?"
"Kurt is doing great..." Lasky answered. "Especially now that he has the DNA issues sorted out... and no, Elizabeth doesn't babysit anymore, she has enough issues to worry about... So I decided to stop asking her."
Yamaguchi-Cullen raised an eyebrow. "Because of your feelings for her.?" she asked gently, knowing she had to tread carefully.
"How do you know about that?" Lasky inquired. "Fuck. I feel like such a dirty old man when I say it like that..."
"Nah," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered. "It just means you have excellent taste in women."
Lasky regarded her. "That's what Plataea said..." he answered before he huffed a sigh at her.
"You should listen to your spouse, she's right, you know," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered with a smile. "When is her due date?"
"October the Eleventh," Lasky answered. "She can't wait..."
"Yes, Siaxx did mention that to me..." Yamaguchi-Cullen answered.
Lasky could see the end of the conversation was rapidly approaching. "Well Rachael, do we need to discuss anything else?"
Lasky was a Division Admiral and she was a Lieutenant, he did have work whereas she should be at home sleeping or having sex with Taffy. "No, sir,"
she answered. "I'd best get out of your hair and let you get on with your morning, by your leave sir." she inquired.
"Dismissed Rachael, thank you for your time," Lasky commented quietly.
"Aye sir, thank you for yours." and with that, she turned and marched out the door. Lasky watched her go in silence as Rachael turned her head right as she got to the door. "I heard that..." she commented before she was gone.
Lasky sighed, he knew he was dealing with a telepath, the same as everyone else in her family and now he was starting to see how Jake handled it, which was not very well.
