Location: Various Locations - USS Pembo / Planet Surface
Timeline: 1800Hrs - November 8th, 2393

Yamaguchi regarded the display on her bridge as she knew that the coming mission was going to test her and her crew's abilities to the very limit. This was because they were in a crippled ship with no hope of rescue before the matter was decided. "Helm. Status?" she asked of her conn officer.

"We'll enter orbit in two minutes Captain." Tienn Halaar answered, she was all business and it showed. While she worked, the Science officer turned. "Captain, we're being scanned... I'm deflecting their scanning beams but they did manage to acquire us for the better part of five seconds." Ensign Paul Harrison explained their situation and what was now likely going to happen in the coming minutes and hours ahead.

"As expected. Beam down the assault force." Yamaguchi commented as if she was ordering herself lunch from the galley.

Meanwhile, as all of this was happening up in orbit. Down on the planet, some two dozen troops appeared. Led by 2nd Lieutenant Jasmine Connor-Yamaguchi who was the commander of the marine force. She was leading the mission. Alongside her was Fleet Master Chief Petty Officer Julian Antilles. He was the ships intelligence officer who had come along because of extra muscle. He was born and bred for missions such as this and this was why he was here, now. He cradled a phaser rifle in his arms as he regarded the situation brewing before him.

"Alright. Let's move out." Connor-Yamaguchi commented as she indicated for her troops to form up and prepare for armed resistance. The briefing that had been given indicated that the personel gathered on the planet were to be shown no quarter. They were to be stunned on sight,. No matter what was happening anywhere else.

The research facility was nearby as Antilles regarded the fetching woman that he answered to. "Let me go on ahead sir," he said softly. Connor-Yamaguchi nodded. "Go. Keep a weather eye open."

Antilles nodded and disappeared into the brush. For him, this was his element. He had long been denied the chance to know this sort of experience and for many years, he had been content to father a child with his spouse. She was much smaller than he was in terms of size and stature but he had also called in one last favour. If he succeeded in this assignment then he wanted an assignment on the same ship as her. He would give her what she wanted more than anything else. That being more children.

Antilles crept along silently as he approached the defensive line. He regarded the defences present. It was only a sensor tower and little else.
That alone made him paranoid. He lifted his rifle as he took aim. He fired one round before he felt someone jab him with their own rifle.

"Hands up." came the guttural voice. Antilles smiled as he assessed the damage. He knew that the sensor net was now down and would remain so for the next several hours.

Antilles saw no need for himself to get shot as he lowered his rifle before letting it slide slowly as if tethered to the ground by gravity. It fell to the ground as Antilles stood up. He stood up to his full height as he held his arms braced at his sides. "Turn... and face me." the voice demanded.

Antilles grinned as he did so. The voice was angry which meant he was either young or very old. Antilles found himself facing a boy. "Well now... You're not too much older than Nathan." Antilles named-dropped his son into this conversation.

"Silence. I did not give you leave to speak..." the boy snapped back at him. "If you do that again. I'll kill you." he sounded more unsure this time.

"No, you won't." Antilles agreed with him. "You're not ready to kill... Protect this place, keep any armed intruders under lock and key. Sure... That's easy enough..." he then shrugged as he watched the young man bring his sidearm up. Antilles then snatched it out of his hand, before ejecting the power cell and then he proceeded to crush the phaser with his hands. "I should have mentioned that I've had some work done..." With reflexes that were amazingly fast to the average human. Antilles proceeded to punch the man between the eyes. He then caught his attacker and then proceeded to pull him away, out of the line of sight for anyone else nearby.

Antilles took a moment to dust himself off. "I could have taken him Chief." a female voice came over his com, which he had placed into his left ear.

"Perhaps El-Tee," Antilles answered. "But for now. They don't know the extent of their losses, nor their enemies disposition... They will seek to draw us into large scale engagements..."
