Brown alert - Big Ships Incoming

Posted on Fri Mar 13th, 2020 @ 11:14pm by Lieutenant General Steven Johnson & Major General Alan Masters & Commander István "Archos" McKnight & Chief Warrant Officer Courtney "Warhowl" Yamaguchi & Lieutenant Commander Shandis "Darkmoon" Dvald-Festlin

Mission: Mission 95: Through the Looking Glass
Location: The New Holland System - Near Starbase 12
Timeline: 0800Hrs - September 5th 2392

Teval sat on the bridge of the Odin class vessel he was temporarily commanding, the USS Roanoke-A. As far as ships went, he was impressed. the Roanoke-A is an Odin class starship, and it is a massive ship. the Ship massed in at nearly 550 million metric tons and had an impressive length of 3,520 meters. The ship was also ridiculously powerful, more powerful than even the Akurians own 440 million ton super battleships. Only the Akurians Super Titan and Super Heavy starships were more powerful weapons. Teval turned to his helm officer asking. "So how long until we reach Starbase 12."

"3 hours," Aurai answered.

Meanwhile on the bridge of the USS Farragut. Captain Marie Yamaguchi was in her office, as she tended to keep herself cooped up most of the time while Commander Istvan McKnight was in a surly mood as he held command of the watch. "Helm. time to our destination?" he inquired.

"Two Hours, eight minutes Captain," Hassel replied.

"Very well," McKnight commented quietly. "Begin Passive scans of the system. Look for anything that might be useful and worth anything to us." the man said to Chung

"There is the battle station ahead, Also it has a battlegroup of a dozen or so ships as well," Chung answered. "Other than that this area of space looks empty."

"Very well," McKnight answered. "Take us in helm," he ordered the Ensign at Conn to proceed into the system, a couple of hours later the USS Farragut reached her destination as she came out of warp.

McKnight finished the last of his drink. "Very well. Helm take us into polar orbit of the moon orbiting the gas giant." he commented. "but be subtle."

Unknown to the Farragut, she had accidentally wandered into one of Starbase 12's warp in points. Minutes after doing so, the massive Odin-class Roanoke-A dropped out of warp, passing within a thousand kilometers of Farragut's position. It was close enough to set off Farragut's proximity alarm.

The Roanoke-A advanced quickly as she moved out of warp, transitioning quickly to impulse before moving into the system at maximum impulse.

Meanwhile on the Farragut. McKnight screamed. "Evasive helm!" he took a moment to regard the massive beat of a ship as it roared past. "Holy crap!. Where the fuck did that thing come from!"

Hassel struggled with the controls. "That must have missed us by a few feet! I had to blast retro engines."

"That came out of nowhere, I swear!" Chung shouted.

Rykar, who sat at the ops station of the Roanoke-A, wearing her new captain Pip's reported. "Teval, I'm picking up an impulse turn, less than a thousand kilometers from our position."

Teval looked at the main sensor display. There were no visible ships within a million kilometers of Roanoke-A, so he quickly figured, "Cloaked ship."

Rykar nodded. "Yeah probably."

"Klingon or Romulan," Teval inquired.

Rykar shook her head, "No, the unburnt propellant indicates that it's probably Federation."

Teval frowned, "What?" he asked aloud in a soft tone. Why would a Federation ship be out here under cloak?, yet not broadcast an IFF. So he gave his orders. "Alright, turn the ship and get our deflector pointing at that position, let's see if we can get a better view of what it is."

Aurai nodded and hit several controls on his console, and Roanoke-A began to turn around.

Meanwhile on the Farragut. The Science officer turned his head. "Sir, that ship is turning about."

McKnight tapped his combadge. "Bridge to the Captain. You are needed on the bridge." he paused. "Helm, evasive maneuvers!"

"That thing won't run into us Commander but if it shoots at this range we won't have time to evade," Hassel replied.

The door opened as Captain Marie Yamaguchi came onto the bridge. "Status?"

"We're being hunted by a truly massive Federation ship, classification unknown. It reads as USS Roanoke-Alpha."

Chung couldn't believe his eyes as she rechecked his sensors. "Captain, there is a larger ship dropping out of warp!"

Marie came over and almost dove into her chair. "On screen." as she felt her insides turn to jelly as she let out a soft moan of terror.

And just on cue, an even larger vessel than the Roanoke dropped out of warp. The USS Valhalla, the first Valhalla class fleet command ship was a monster vessel of 4800 meters in length and a mass of 4.6 billion metric tons, and she dropped out of warp not 10,000 kilometers from the Farragut.

However, even this monster ship was dwarfed by the next vessel to arrive. A hole in space appeared only 5000 kilometers from the Farragut, and out of that rift, emerged the second largest military starship of the OISU, the Noble Class Super heavy starships ACSF Noble. This massive starship was over 28 kilometers long and its mass stood in at over 100 billion tons.

Marie Yamaguchi, seated in her chair felt her pants wet with excrement, she noticed the foul stench that quickly filled her bridge as it seemed that multiple people were crapping themselves. "They will not take us without a fight." she paused.

Yamaguchi suddenly gave in to her terror. "Disengage the cloak, raise the shields, Fire Everything!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "Target that monster warship!"

Ryuukei didn't have much of a clue what happened, as events happened extremely fast. One moment, his ship was moving slowly towards Starbase 12, minding its own business, then the next moment, his ship came under weapons fire. Thanks to the ships fast reacting shield system, the shields automatically raised themselves when the ship registered it was under fire, so Farragut only got a handful of hits. Not that it mattered much as the Nebula class weapons could do little to the nobles 16-meter thick frontal armor. Point defense systems also came online automatically, firing at the incoming torpedoes' however at that close range, most torpedoes hit, but they could do very little to Noble's shielding.

Ryuukei looked at the tactical display in pure bewilderment, then asked. "Why is that Federation ship shooting at us."

Meanwhile back on the Farragut. Orthos noticed the massive ship was simply ignoring the best of Farragut's weapons fire so he went from his post over to the engineering console at the back of the bridge. "Diverting auxiliary power to weapons."

Yamaguchi paused. "Helm. Get us out of here!"

"To where Captain?" Hassel asked.

Yamaguchi hesitated as McKnight answered. "Out of the system helm. Get us away from those things." he paused. "try again with phasers, they are as hot as I can make them."

"Yes sir, course set," Hassel replied.

Ryuukei sighed then told his tactical officer," Alright, lock several tractor beams on that target."

Weyai nodded and three tractor beams from Noble locked onto the Farragut. At the same time, Teval ordered the Roanoke A to lock a tractor beam and the Captain of the Valhalla also ordered a tractor beam lock, leaving Farragut thoroughly immobilized.

Ryuukei then hailed the Roanoke A and Teval answered. Teval, do you have any idea why that Nebula class ship just fired at my ship and dinged the paintwork."

Teval turned to Rykar. "Scan that vessel."

Rykar nodded and scanned the vessel. "well, this ship is the USS Farragut, NCC 60597. Wait a minute, that impossible, that ship was destroyed in 2373 during the war against the Klingons in the Lembetta Cluster."

"Not if the ship is from an alternate reality," Teval replied, "Yeah, I know where this is from. Alright, target their warp nacelles and fire when ready."

The tactical officer acknowledged and fired two precision phaser bursts, neatly cutting off both of Farragut's warp nacelles without doing any real damage to the rest of the ship.

Meanwhile on the bridge of the USS Farragut. Orthos knew the battle was finished. "Prepare to repel boarders!" he called. "Pass the word to your troops to arm themselves."

"Counter boarding teams set Commander." The security chief replied.

Teval turned his attention to Rykar, saying. "Rykar hail Starbase 12, so we can report this incident."

Rykar nodded and hailed the starbase.

Meanwhile on Starbase 12. Operations was always a busy place as Syldra Vaxx-Warfield was on duty as Captain Ward turned. "Skipper, you are wanted over the com."

Vaxx-Warfield blinked. "Okay, put them through." she paused. "This is Starbase 12, what can we do for you?" she inquired of Teval.

"I need to report a situation to an admiral," Teval answered.

Vaxx-Warfield paused. "Hold on. Let me go and see if April is free." she paused before the Bolian female rose to her feet and went over to the office. "Is April free?"

"She's got ten minutes before her next appointment." Lieutenant Greenfield responded. "Whats up?"

"She's wanted. Captain Vakar wants her."

The door opened and Grand Admiral April Yamaguchi emerged. "Whats up?"

"Captain Vakar wants you," Vaxx-Warfield explained. "He says he wishes to report something."

"Okay," Yamaguchi answered before she went into Operations and went over to the console. "You wanted me, Captain. Whats up?" April inquired of Teval.

Teval explained his situation, "Yeah the USS Farragut, NCC 60597 decided to open fire on the Noble as she came in the systems. We currently have the ship disabled and locked in place with five separate tractor beams right now."

Yamaguchi paused before a frown appeared on her face. "The Farragut." she quickly tapped in the name and the registration code. "Mmm. I'd like to know how a ship that was reported lost twenty years ago can suddenly rise from the grave." she paused. "or is this an alternate reality thing?"

"its alternate reality," Teval answered with confidence, "So what do you want us to do with them."

Yamaguchi opened her mouth to say 'destroy them' but she closed her mouth. "Take them prisoner and find out what they know."

Teval nodded," Very well." He then closed the channel and then told rykar," Alright, Hail the Valhalla, they have plenty of marines on board and we don't have any."

Rykar nodded and did as ordered. Moments later the faces of Division Admiral Icethorn and Vice Admiral Sr'all Riversky came on the viewscreen. Icethorn, the ship's commander asked, "This is the Valhalla, what is it?."

Teval then explained the situation. "Alright, we have been told to board the Farragut and capture her crew, however, my ship doesn't have any marines onboard, can you spare some marines for this."

Icethorn nodded. "yes we can, we have an entire marine field group onboard."

Icethorn then turned to General's Steven Johnson and Alan Masters, "Well, looks like your unit is about to get its first combat assignment."

"Yep," Johnson responded. "Mmm. One older Nebula class ship." the General simply shrugged. "One brigade ought to do it."

"Are you sure?" Masters responded, a dry tone in his voice. "Why not use everyone?. I mean how can that idea go wrong?"

"Three hundred thousand marines against that." Johnson sighed. "I have so much to teach you, fortunately, I will have First Brigade show me how good they are. Bring me prisoners and hopefully, nobody will do something stupid."

Sr'all gave Johnson a look, "Even a brigade is a bit too much. that ship only has a crew of 600, and I am willing to bet our gear is much better than theirs. A battalion should do. Plus transporting that many marines in a ship that small, would be kind of a problem for our transporters, plus we have to hope that they aren't using inhibitors."

Johnson paused. "Aww. Thanks for raining on my parade." he paused. "Masters, Tell First Battalion that today is their lucky day, tell the boys and girls to gear up and prepare to storm that ship. Same orders as before."

Sr'all didn't say anything else as the shuttles from Valhalla left their bays and over 600 fully equipped marines were sent to board the Farragut.

Heniko Nakamura and some of her techs were trying to get more power out of the engines. "Lieutenant, we can't get any more power out of these weapons." One of the petty officers complained.

"You want to survive this battle?" Heniko shot back. "We better get something out of this girl."

It was just then several of her techs and damage control started to fall to small arms fire. "What the hell?" Nakamura said. "Shit. Bridge, we have boarding teams in engineering!" She yelled as she hid behind a tube works.

Meanwhile, up on the bridge, it was more chaos as several dozen marines quickly beamed in and McKnight swiftly punched one of them with his fists, only to break his hand before he was stunned by one of the marines.

The boarding action on the bridge lasted only a minute or so as Marie Yamaguchi quickly made her escape from the bridge via the emergency escape into the Jefferies tube network.

"Alright. Secure these guys and let's move onto the next objective." the First Lieutenant called out loudly. "Come on guys, we got places to hit. Team one." and with that, the man began rattling off orders to police all of deck one.

There was a lot of shooting on the bridge as the marines forced an entry. The bridge crew mostly huddled behind their consuls as the marines sweep in.

The bridge crew did not go down easily however they were overmatched and overwhelmed, in minutes they were also surrounded and the marines simply washed over their defenses quickly.

"Time to go," Hassel told himself. He was planning to desert the ship long before these large ships arrived. His escape shuttle was cloaked and waiting outside. He wanted to wait until he was off duty but now there was an abrupt change of plans. "Computer: execute Phase Escape." and with that Hassel was transported to the shuttle.

Marie meanwhile moved down sets of ladders as she headed for her escape shuttle, she knew that this ship and her crew were all doomed and she had to escape to at least warn her superiors of what had happened. She sighed softly.

A few minutes went by as she reached her destination, fortunately, there were no Federation marines here so she activated the systems on the Captain's Yacht before she made her escape attempt.

Unfortunately for Marie, the captain's Yacht lacked a cloaking device, so her small vessel was easily captured by the Roanoke A's tractor beam, and Teval had the craft hauled into the ships hangar bay. He then had security ready to apprehend the occupants, with Aerin Ranval leading the party.

Marie growled softly. "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die... oh I am not going to die!" she added as she armed herself. "I'm gonna make you fuckers bleed.!" she hissed as the hatch opened. She took him as she pressed the firing stud. One blast impacted the first person who entered.

The phaser blast was easily absorbed by Aerin's shields, and with expert marksman, Aerin shot Marie's phaser right out of her own hand.

Marie screamed as she yelled. "Shit, they have Borg technology!"
right before she was stunned.

Meanwhile, in sickbay, Dr. Hobbs was working on casualties. A med tech approached her. "Doctor, enemy marines are in the corridor!"

"I don't care, I have casualties." She calmly stated as she worked on a burn victim. Several marines entered sickbay and started downing med techs and nurses. A marine sergeant and two privates approached Hobbs with their guns aimed at her.

"Doctor, please surrender." The sergeant asked Hobbs. Hobbs just gave the marines the finger. All three marines opened up on Hobbs and she fell like a bag of potatoes.

The Inevitable came quickly as the crew of the Farragut was captured and secured quickly, with many of them being moved to holding cells.

Sr'all decided to take charge of the situation," Alright Valhalla, let's tow the ship to Starbase 12. Let's also figure out whom the command crew is for this ship and bring them in for a debriefing."

Teval nodded," Got it."
